Saints v MAN UTD

A good draw but too early in the cup. We will go out for sure and I reckon more games in the cup would have bought us more revenue overall which is what we need. hope to god we do beat them but cannot really see it going on our past home form. And will he play everyone or will he keep some back so they are not cup tied, so more value if they need to be sold in the transfer window?

Best draw possible (other than the same tie away!). If we fill the SMS we'll find out what an insignificant gesture those stayway fans are making. Of course, in reality, most will be there ;~)

I just hope it's not on TV (given our record...)

Ha ha, I'm sure the stayaways will not go to the game due to their stance of Lowe being there etc, etc.

Just looked up figures on the FA site.

We only get 45% of the gate (45% Man Utd, 10% FA).

Getting selected for TV makes things better though as £160,000 for a live game, £7,500 highlights and £9,000 for full radio commentary.

Hope its on tv and then we can pay the wages of a proper goalscorer..

I disagree, get a bumper pay out, a draw and replay at OT then go out so the kids are not too washed out for the league.

SO how many people who refuse to go to games beacsue of Lowe will definately be attendance to this game I ask myself ...... most of them. Ih the Irony of getting a big draw to so see them crawl out of the woowork.

i will probably go...i dont usually as we are turd...a chance to see some real class players at sms again wil be the draw for me..

Saints should make fans go to 2 home games to qualify for UTD game.

That way the likes of Windmill arms 2 and Alpine who NEVER go to games wont get tickets before genuine fans/supporters

Considering there are only 14,000 genuine fans/supporters by your definition, and the ground holds 32,500, I dont see what your problem is, except the need to seek attention.

But dont worry, I am not going to get on a plane for just this anyway...

I will get my seat back in the kingsland north. Shame it will only be because people want to watch Mc UTD.

You could swap the away and home seating for this one, at least then the majority of people there could be honest as to why they attended.

3-2

TDD, kindly **** off.

Fantastic draw, it will be good to get back in block 1, even if it is only for one game.

Even though Man U can't stand us because of the Jamie Turner incident, lets hope there isn't a repeat.

How sage and just and mature our self-appointed Ueber fan contingent is..

I for one hope it is on TV,should be a pretty penny to be had from that one.

If the nippers aren't up for this then they should quit now.

I don't expect us to get a result, but it's the cup and anything could happen.

The plastics will come flooding back i'm sure, just like the last match of last season.

Good revenue = possibility of not having to sell a player and easing the financial worries just a tad.

It's always good to see the minnows against some of the hierachy of the Premiership.:)

Rubbish. Those who are staying away because of Lowe, I imagine, are those who had been going for years anyway. The prospect of seeing us play United 3/4 years after we were relegated and had been playing them season in season out for nearly 30 years is probably not that enticing to them.

The stadium will be full of the type of people who fell in love with Sky's glamour football and ****ed off when we went down. They'll be the ones who are crawling out of the woodwork.

Personally, I couldn't give a **** about seeing United. As long as we make some money out of it.

I wonder how many of the "I'll never come to St Mary's again while Lowe etc etc etc...." will sneak back without admitting to it?

Does it matter ?

I thought all that mattered to you luvvies was the clubs financial survival ?

You expect those of us who despise Lowe to accept him in the name of financial survival, but you cannot put your piiissing contest about who is The Greatest Fan to one side.

Breathtaking hypocrisy.

As so often Alpine you deliberately miss the point by coming back with smart-ass comments.

Yes - applying fatuous labels is always a good substitute for reasoned debate

Sod! I was planning to go back to Italy for New Year having seen a couple of games (Forest & Reading), but now shall I extend my stay.....? Having seen us beat MU when we were in the second div and not given a chance it would be nice to see a repeat! (Cough, choke, tongue in cheek.)

Where was i moaning!

Simple statement "i'm sure the plastics will come flooding back just like the last game of last season"

So hence "good revenue = possibility of not selling a player and easing the financial worries a tad"

Engage brain, before gob please.

They are kids as you said, full of energy and not likely to get worn out by a decent cup run if we get one. Thats if he's allowed to play them all anyway.

I won't be coming - even though the corner will be Itchen corner will be open.

It'll be a nearly full house - full of old United fans from all over. It'll be like a home game for United.

It will be a cracking game - at least we won't capitualte like we did that season under Redknapp. United won't break a sweat, but the lads will give them a game - the problem I see is who is going to score? We'll get a couple of chances against them - but I doubt if Fergie will put out a full team. Why should he? They will be kids with the likes of Rooney and Renaldo on the bench or in the stands!

Rupes will be creaming himself...all our talented lads in the shop window for the January sales. TV revenue, lots of bonus add ons - especially on the corporate side.
