Dr Who? Posted 5 April, 2013 Posted 5 April, 2013 Simple question as I do not have a clue why. But why is Sunderland away on a Sunday? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/southampton/fixtures

Andre Posted 5 April, 2013 Posted 5 April, 2013 All fixtures in the last two weeks of the league are on Sunday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/fixtures
Saint Garrett Posted 5 April, 2013 Posted 5 April, 2013 Annoying as means I won't be able to go, sure they'll be a few who are in the same boat. Hopefully we'll be safe by then
Ewell Posted 5 April, 2013 Posted 5 April, 2013 On a side not I see SKY have not announced any fixtures yet for the Sunderland weekend. Does anyone know what days\times they are likely to be as I am waiting on booking my trip. http://www1.skysports.com/watch/football-on-sky

Does anyone know what days\times they are likely to be as I am waiting on booking my trip. http://www1.skysports.com/watch/football-on-sky I looked this up a month or so ago and off the top of my head I think last season's equivalent weekend, there was one league game played early on the Sat, one early on the Sunday, one other at 4 on the Sunday, one at 8pm on the Monday and the rest at 2pm on the Sunday. That probably doesn't help much does it?

John Boy Saint Posted 5 April, 2013 Posted 5 April, 2013 The FA Cup should be the Full Stop to the domestic season.
Sour Mash Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Pretty sure they're not allowed to move the last two weekends so no team can claim unfair advantage? Was only case with the very last round of fixtures last season.
Ewell Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 I looked this up a month or so ago and off the top of my head I think last season's equivalent weekend, there was one league game played early on the Sat, one early on the Sunday, one other at 4 on the Sunday, one at 8pm on the Monday and the rest at 2pm on the Sunday. That probably doesn't help much does it? It does not help specifically for this years games but it is nice to know the details from last season. I would say that knowing these details does not change my decision on holding off booking my trip until the SKY matches are confirmed. Now Di Canio is the Sunderland manager, they are in a relegation dog fight and the title race is almost over I would not be surprised if our match with them was picked out for live coverage. Pretty sure they're not allowed to move the last two weekends so no team can claim unfair advantage? As pointed out by Sour Mash that is only the last fixture of the season. There will be other SKY matches on the weekend of the Sunderland trip.
RobM Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 The FA Cup should be the Full Stop to the domestic season. Yes! Would be a great way to end the season and wouldn't muck up fixtures.
kpturner Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 Decided to fly up yesterday and since there were only 2 seats left I guess there will be a few of us going the same way. I can't imagine Southampton to Newcastle is normally full on Sunday.
