Think Ferguson or Jol will get it.

Moyes and Ferguson have 100% win perchentages.

Jol and Pochettino 50%, but we are the only ones who lost.

An I right in recalling that Adkins never won manager of the month (in all 3 leagues) whilst at Saints? Not sure if I'm right there but would be a 'strange but true' fact if it is

Posted

Depends what the voting criteria is but it wouldn't surprise me if Pochettino gets it. A club in our precarious position beating Liverpool and Chelsea back to back is, pound for pound, a more impressive achievement than the likes of Man Utd winning 100% of games they were expected to win.

Unlikely, he isn't nomianted.

right didn't know that the nominations were known already, probably because I read threads from last to first and don't always get to the bottom before posting, must cut that out.

Cheers - it still seems a bit bonkers that a manager who achieved back to back promotions to the premier league only managed to accrue one MotM in that time. Not that I'm complaining....better to stay under the radar in these things!

Yes but I think we were too consistent for this kind of award.

If we had 5 games during a month we often had 10-12 points out of those.

But there is often some other team have a good run for a month but they are not as consistent over the season so for

that specific month they will have a run and get this kind of award but over a season we are far better off.

Yep, makes sense thinking about it. Which is actually why I think Pochettino stands a good chance of winning it this time.

I´m not too sure though. Our record in march was 2 win, 1 draw and 1 loss?

Dont think that will cut it.

We can hope though, I dont know what the criterias are for the jury. If it´s only results he wont win it, if there are other criterias the chance is there.

For those wondering here is the fixtures and results. We have played the most games and if we would of beat QPR at home I wouldnt of been able to see past MP winning the MOTM. Cant see Ferguson not winning, despite playing some poor sides and all games they'd expect to win without too much trouble.

Given the magnitude of the teams we've beaten, and the progress actually made by the manager (hence the award), it would be criminal if Poch didn't win this. Moyes has done well too, but Fergie's had to do very little to beat those sides.

Moyes to win it. That QPR result sticks out like a sore thumb.

To me it depends if they measure the success against the expectations of each team across the month - I think, overall, Pochettino's Southampton exceeded expectations more than Moyes' Everton did in the same period.

Yes, we've got an ugly result in there but the unbeaten run of Norwich away and Liverpool + Chelsea at home 'beats' 3 Everton home wins, two of which they would have been expected to win, IMO

Gotsta be Moyes for me. Our last two results are impressive (even more so if you take into our performances in those games) but this is traditionally a time of the season when Everton switch off having secured safety. 3 wins in a row for them is particularly impressive. The 1-2-3 in my eyes would be Moyes-Pochettino-Ferguson.

Looking at that, it should be Moyes.

It should not be Jol based on only 1 win and 1 draw

It should not be SAF because even I could manage Utd to beat Norwich, Reading and Sunderland

It should not be Poch because losing at home to a bottom place QPR is completely unforgivable (and is the only defeat for any of the nominations)

What a surprise. Yet more proof (as if it was needed) that The FA and media hate us.

It's a disgrace, they can't look beyond his 100% record and see the performances we put in by losing at home to QPR and scraping a draw at Norwich.

More bias.

Agreed. As a team recently promoted (twice), we beat the league champions and the European champions, with a narrow defeat to a pumped-up QPR team and a scrappy draw with Norwich. Everton beat a massively struggling Reading, the league champions (fair play), and the average Stoke City. Hmm...

We got promoted twice last month?

We should of won it then.

No we didn't.

If they typically give it to the bloke who won the highest percentage of games why bother short-listing those that won less games?

so in fact Moyes got the MOM award because getting your arse kicked at home by Wigan in the cup doesn't count...is that right?

Seeing as it's Premier League manager of the month i guess it doesn't.
