RobM Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 No Lallana but otherwise a very strong team. I've not seen much of Davis and Ramirez together so looking forward to that.
trousers Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 @SouthamptonFC: Saints substitutes: K. Davis (GK), Fonte, Fox, Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Guly, Puncheon. #saintsfc
RobM Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Gaston out wide will be a waste, can Davis play wide? Don't forget he plays out wide for his country, so it's not totally wasted if he performs.
pangy Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 He has never performed for us out wide, hence the reason I asked
Olallana Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 gaston probably on the right cutting in with JRod the same from the left.... Or perhaps Davis will be responsible for defending down the right....
Saint-Armstrong Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 A 4-3-1-2 ? Gaston in the hole, Jay and Rickie in the middle together with the midfield three?
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 He has never performed for us out wide, hence the reason I asked But that was in Adkins' system and formation, he may do better under Pochettino as it's a bit more fluid.
Olallana Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 But that was in Adkins' system and formation' date=' he may do better under Pochettino as it's a bit more fluid.[/quote'] He was operating a bit more from the right side against Liverpool and he was very good first half there.
pap Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Sat on the couch with ms pap waiting for the offs. This team is capable of beating Reading. Just need to be ruthless.
JoeShmoe Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Gaston away? Think i'd rather have Adam or Punch, still no doubt he'll be knackered after 55 mins and have to come off. Still, Reading are utter gash at the back so maybe this is the day for his tricks?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Author Posted 6 April, 2013 Nige Vs Poch who could have predicted this 79 days ago???
saint lard Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 No Pearce in the Reading starting line up.....Quelle Surprise.
studentsaint Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Gaston on the wing ahead of Lallana and punch? Never seen hum play well on either wing and don't see the logic.
Saint_clark Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Gaston on the wing ahead of Lallana and punch? Never seen hum play well on either wing and don't see the logic. Very happy with that, those middle three hopefully will interchange. I can see Ramirez giving them a torrid time...don't be surprised to see us get a penalty today. Have to say that Adkins interview was exact carbon copy of everything he ever said at Saints, you can understand reports that training was getting stale etc.
Colinjb Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 I worry about our full backs being exposed with Punch out of the team and Rodriguez being given license by Pochettino to push forward. We need to absolutely go at them.
pangy Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 This is going to be Gastons game I can feel it 55 min hat -trick before he gets hauled off for Guly
pap Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 I think our chances of victory have just diminished. NA stated three times that he was looking to win a game of football. Anyone hoping that Reading would take to the field believing they were basketball players and incur a load of cards for handball will be disappointed. Partial cred to ms pap.

Anyone hoping that Reading would take to the field believing they were basketball players and incur a load of cards for handball will be disappointed. Partial cred to ms pap. On the contrary, I see that as working in our favour. He will be trying to out football us with a team not used to playing that way.
B Rabbit Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 This is going to be Gastons game I can feel it 55 min hat -trick before he gets hauled off for Guly Agree. Not the hat trick bit but I think this might be the game he really steps up. Worried about Le Fondre... Little Sh!t always scores against us =|

doughnutman Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Interesting to hear from Brian McDermott that Adkins tried to buy Federeci (I'd assume while he was managing Saints) wonder when he tried to buy him?
Saint_clark Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Agree. Not the hat trick bit but I think this might be the game he really steps up. Worried about Le Fondre... Little Sh!t always scores against us =| I had a feeling about Lambert getting a hattrick today...
Suhari Posted 6 April, 2013 Posted 6 April, 2013 Happy with that team. Tenacity from Davis, class from Gaston, pace and directness from JRod. So where's Forren btw?
