Matthew Le God Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Anyone heard any news on Boruc ? Still 'dizzy', or fit to play? Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 2m MP on Boruc illness: "The doctors think he picked up a virus whilst away but he has trained well since Monday." #saintsfc
SuperSAINT Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Adam Blackmore @bigadamsport Adam Lallana & Artur Boruc have both been training this week for #saintsfc
Weston Saint Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Adam was carrying a groin injury incurred during the Liverpool game. He started training including running again on Monday and is expected to be available
sfc4prem Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Adam was carrying a groin injury incurred during the Liverpool game. He started training including running again on Monday and is expected to be available Shouldn't imagine he'd start though.
Saint Garrett Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 I think he will start and be captain unfortunately...
Roger Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 What he say about mayuka. Interesting to see that it was Crosby who wrote the training ground note not Adkins when he left.
Roger Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 I think he will start and be captain unfortunately... Why?
Saint Garrett Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Why? Not ITK just my feeling. I think Rickie should be captain.
Saint Charlie Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Hope Lallana starts. Him being Captain makes no difference, he was Captain vs Liverpool and was fantastic.
Jones91 Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 where have you heard this? What he say about mayuka. Interesting to see that it was Crosby who wrote the training ground note not Adkins when he left.
Matthew Le God Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 I think Rickie should be captain. It makes little difference who is "captain". Lambert can still help raise the game of the players on the pitch even if Lallana has the armband.
Saint Garrett Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Agree, but Rickie is our talisman and he seems to really get the best out of him IMO.
Appy Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 It makes little difference who is "captain". Lambert can still help raise the game of the players on the pitch even if Lallana has the armband. How do you know?
SuperSAINT Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Nabil Hassan @NabilHassan79 It didn't take long, new manager Nigel Adkins is already quoting Sun Tzu's Art of War in his pre-match presser. #saintsfc #readingfc
Window Cleaner Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Nabil Hassan @NabilHassan79 It didn't take long, new manager Nigel Adkins is already quoting Sun Tzu's Art of War in his pre-match presser. #saintsfc #readingfc well that will pass completely over the head of your average Reading fan then. As will his Liebnizian philosophy in general.
Matthew Le God Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 How do you know? Because all it is is a piece of cloth on his arm, not having the armband doesn't mean Lambert won't be a leader on the pitch and keep quiet for 90 minutes.
SuperSAINT Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Nabil Hassan @NabilHassan79 Adkins says it is a joy to watch the way #saintsfc play, will have no issue shaking Pochettino's hand & will invite him in for a drink after.

Saint Garrett Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Just as long as he doesn't have the team in for a drink before. Boruc's pre match warmup is a bottle of Polands purest vodka don't ya know !
Olallana Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Boruc's pre match warmup is a bottle of Polands purest vodka don't ya know ! That´s a sentence I never would have thought I hear.... Especially the "purest" part...
Window Cleaner Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Boruc's pre match warmup is a bottle of Polands purest vodka don't ya know ! hits himself over the head with it does he !
SaintRobbie Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 We should win... but then we only beat big clubs.
Bearsy Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 2m MP on Boruc illness: "The doctors think he picked up a virus whilst away but he has trained well since Monday." #saintsfc not first person to pick up virus playing away yo
yorkiesaint Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 well that will pass completely over the head of your average Reading fan then. As will his Liebnizian philosophy in general. To be fair, it passed over my head too.
Roger Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 What did mp say about mayuka? Simon peach asked him a question about him according to Adam Blackmore.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 not first person to pick up virus playing away yo Word. I had a mate who picked up a nasty virus while visiting Eastern Europe on a stag weekend. Must be something in the water or cabbage or something? MLG please confirm.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 What did mp say about mayuka? Simon peach asked him a question about him according to Adam Blackmore. His exact answer was “¿quién?”
studentsaint Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Nige certainly has a better record in the 'basement battles' winning twice against villa, once against reading and one against Qpr. Wigan was early so the only blemish was Sunderland. Poch has only got 1 point from Wigan and Qpr. He seems more of a man for the big dogs.
Window Cleaner Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 (edited) To be fair, it passed over my head too. To me Adkins seemed to talk down to the run of the mill supporter, then I gave up with his banalities and clichés so I couldn't say if it got better or worse . Edited 4 April, 2013 by Window Cleaner
Toadhall Saint Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Of course this is a game for us to win. As MP always says, that should always be our mindset. If they wanna try to outplay us passing, that will only benefit us I think. Their major threat for us to defend will be set pieces, really need to have our focus 100% defensively there. And you are right (personally I think we'll murder them if they try to play us at our own game) - now if they park the bus i'd be more worried about the set pieces - you can bet your bottom dollar that if they get within range whoever is on the ball will go down like a shot.

Parking the bus would be suicidal for them,we could not possibly have the 21 or so goal attempts that we had against QPR again and not score more than 1 goal. I hope that MP keeps faith in the same side as for Chelsea game and does not revert to starting Lallana because for me JRod has become our most potent striker.

If Lallana is fit, I'd play him on the right and drop Puncheon to the bench.

benjii Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Start with Punch. Much more effective going forwards and much better defensively.

S-Clarke Posted 4 April, 2013 Posted 4 April, 2013 Boruc has been in training all week after feeling dizzy at halftime vs Chelsea with a virus and I can't see Ramirez being left out. Not sure. Can quite easily see Gaston on the bench again, as we all know his away performances haven't been ideal - and that team has worked pretty well together. Davis was excellent against Chelsea.

Can quite easily see Gaston on the bench again, as we all know his away performances haven't been ideal - and that team has worked pretty well together. Davis was excellent against Chelsea. Hmmm. He did well with what he usually does well at; shot stopping. Boruc was brilliant at throwing the ball out to our defenders to play, Davis did barely none of that. And his kicking was really poor on a few occasions. He did ok against Chelsea, but I hope we have Boruc back.
