St Chalet Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Brilliant win, with Wigan winning we really needed it. Seems like another team had an off day at St Mary's
doubleonothing Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Fantastic result absolutely superb. Time to crack open the rum!
redkeith Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Great performance again. Love Jay Rods ball juggling. Well deserved, bring on the Royals.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 That was hard to watch (last 20) Superb result!!!!
badgerx16 Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Remember, possibly around Christmas, when TDD was saying we'd have to beat a 'top' team to have a chance of staying up. Man City:), Liverpool:), and now Chelski:).
Saintandy666 Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Imagine where we would be without the wins against Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City. 25 points, and down and out. Another incredible victory.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Who said we can't make 10th place! Game on onwards and upwards forget Wigan nobodies gone catch us looking up now not down 2 points off tenth!
Edmonton Saint Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Was a nervous wreck there second half... J-Rod my man of the match... Onto Reading next week now...
gaz Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Pow! The media will be full of how poor Chelski were, but we were mighty!
DG Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Beat Chelsea with Fox, Davis and Hooiveld on the pitch Massive result in a free game, well played lads.
corky morris Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Get the **** in!!! Very happy here in Orlando. Screams making the neighbouring pool owners stare at us!! Might go & get another beer.......
CalneSaint Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Cracking result. Defended well...limited their chances...something new to see was that we didn't sit deep, but continued to press. Excellent result, sat in 13th with 34 points......COYS
ExSt Peter Saint Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 well done saints! team performance again, but we do seem to just hang on and hoof it to noone in the last 20 in these games - v hard to watch!
pangy Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 That was the hardest 20 mins to watch all season. Great win, they were understrength but that is there problem not ours. Yosh or Shaw for MOTM for me
MOSaint Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Great win, held on well second half. Seem to be hitting some form at exactly the right time.
pap Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Very pleased with that performance. I am on track with my predictions for the last 8 games. Perfectly happy to fall out of the running at the next hurdle though. I predicted a loss against Reading.
Window Cleaner Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 if Stoke were to take a hammering tomorrow we could even move up again.
Atlanta Saint Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Lets hope Everton beat Stoke and we rise another position in the table.
Tommy Mulgrew Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Magnificent result, which we needed with Wigan winning. Multi-man MotM: the entire back four! Well done Saints. A couple of months ago I predicted 11th and I'm still sticking to it. Sunderland and Newcastle both lost. COYR.
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Great win, still only 4pts clear of relegation zone but now quite a few teams below us. Good form and confidence going into the home straight.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 We beat City on away goals over two legs, Liverpool on goal difference and now 4 points of Chelsea who would have believed it!
pangy Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Still only 4pts off the drop though, just shows how important that win was
bug187 Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Can't believe we could be 12th by the end of the day! MASSIVE MASSIVE win!
Saintandy666 Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 I'd say it's 1 more relegation place up for grabs now, and about 6 or 7 teams in the running, depending on whether stoke win their game in hand in a minute. Surely we are better than at least one of those teams?!
saintfully Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Epic win. Two under-strength teams battling it out and Saints emerge victorious! Are we safe yet?
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Impressive defending at the end. Did well to keep Hazard so quiet when he came on. The full backs are so good. J-Rod was class. Shame on those who were so quick to write him off.
sussexsaint Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 How high do we have to be and how many 'top teams' do we have to outplay before people stop referring to us as 'struggling' Next season we will walk this league. We have a fecking immense team in the making
melmacian_saint Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Great first half, suffered in the 2nd half but we gave our best shot and it would've been cruel if an already known script repeated itself. Full-backs MOM for me but Sir Rickie's goal is what I'll remember better from this one. Onwards and upwards!
Window Cleaner Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Still only 4pts off the drop though, just shows how important that win was GD makes it a virtual 5 though.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 C'mon Everton! A decent win for them could see us gain another place!
JackFrost Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Fantastic result. Who could have predicted 9 points out of 9 against Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool? We can literally beat ANYONE at home. whilst we're only 4 points above the drop zone but Stoke, Norwich, Newcastle and Sunderland are well and truly in the scrap now. We will be fine.
St Chalet Posted 30 March, 2013 Author Posted 30 March, 2013 6 points that we were not expected to take. Needed as well, 28 points and I'd be ****ting it.
Jonnyboy Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 You know what boys, I think everything's gonna be alright.
Mr X Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Jay rod man of the match without doubt tireless running and closing down and a great goal! Credit to rickie and even kelvin!
ART Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Magnificent and so proud. Excellent team selection, great substitutions and once again Ricky Lambert showed he deserves the captaincy. England can't ignore him any longer. We used our heads with our play and didn't have Lallana running around like a headless chicken achieving absolutely nothing. After today I am finally beginning to believe that Pochettino will take us to another level. Well done every player, but have to say Luke and Ward-Prowse really put in some beautiful play.
La BoIS Saint Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Thanks for the goal clip! Shame I'm not at work with the Chelsea fans.
jampot Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Special mention to Kelvin, there when it mattered coming off the bench...
