Appy Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 3 Years ago today since the JPT wins. How time flies. Insert pictures here ......
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 It's not mine. But it's probably my favourite, especially now:
dronskisaint Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Great day out for me and the lad...RIP and thanks to Markus who I'm very glad had this day.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 (edited) :adore::adore: Markus, not me of course. Edited 28 March, 2013 by KelvinsRightGlove I can't spell.
trousers Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 :adore::adore: Marcus, not me of course. May I have the honour of pointing out it's Markus, not Marcus...
Wiggles31 Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Stunning day out. The moment when you knew we were on the up again.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 May I have the honour of pointing out it's Markus, not Marcus... My bad, edited.
bpsaint Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 What a day that was! One of my favourite ever bits of commentary on that video, "you do not keep out a Rickie Lambert penalty".
ant Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Do you have a higher quality version of that by any chance?
This Charming Man Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Great competition, you don't appreciate it while top flight but just getting to Wembley and seeing your team win a trophy is amazing. Fantastic support too. Agreed. The trophy is irrelevant but seeing Saints win at Wembley, climb those stairs and lift a trophy will never, ever be forgotten.
Prince Jazzbo Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 In the same way the there are supposedly Celtic supporters living in Lisbon after their European Cup Final win in 67. I reckon there's Saints fans stuck on the train somewhere around Woking still waiting for the signal failure to be sorted or the broken down train to move. They still think AP is Manager, and are hoping that we're into our 2nd season in the Championship after consolidating during the first one.

Was amusing on the underground on the way up as the Saints fans seemed far more excited about being there than the Carlisle fans (who, in fairness, were on their second or third trip in recent years). So much for the 'Southampton think they're too good for the lower leagues' charge that some people tried to level at us. I think after the previous few years, that day was just the icing on the cake.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've been to Wembley for either England games or gigs, though seeing Saints play in the most famous football ground on earth was special for me.

KelvinsRightGlove Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 I know he wasn't the greatest player, but I really liked Papa.
pingwing Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Great day out! Need to find the high quality bbc highlights one day as you can see me standing behind the goal for Antonio's goal Can't believe it's been 3 years already, doesn't seem anywhere near that long ago.
Saint Garrett Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 :cry: Are you Bear in disguise? I heard a rumour he was banned
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Are you Bear in disguise? I heard a rumour he was banned Apparently I am too.
Barry Sanchez Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Great great day if there is a negative its the factvwe were not allowed more tickets.
dronskisaint Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Saints win 4-1 at Wembley ...only a skate would look for a negative!
This Charming Man Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 To be fair, England games at Wembley are utter ****e. That they are, my days of watching England at Wembley are over (obviously coming out of retirement for the Irish game though!).
Barry Sanchez Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Saints win 4-1 at Wembley ...only a skate would look for a negative! Is there another forum, your other half if you will where you are entertaining?
Plumstead_Saint Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Great day out for me and the lad - one we'll never forget. Thank you AP
S-Clarke Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 What a day that was! One of my favourite ever bits of commentary on that video, "you do not keep out a Rickie Lambert penalty". For me, It would have to be the line ''And Southampton are running riot at Wembley!" It was a great day out. Remember packing on the 7:10 train from Soton Central, absolutely rammed and had to stand up all the way there, but you just didn't give a damn as everyone just joined in the atmosphere. Probably the most enjoyable 2 hour train journey I'll ever have standing up! It may be seen as a Micky mouse cup, but it simply equates to one of the best away days I've ever had as a saints fan.
Junction 9 Posted 29 March, 2013 Posted 29 March, 2013 I can't say I'm any happier now as a Saints fan as I was then. Really enjoyed the lower leagues.
CB Fry Posted 29 March, 2013 Posted 29 March, 2013 I can't say I'm any happier now as a Saints fan as I was then. Really enjoyed the lower leagues. This. The journey was far better than the destination.
The Kraken Posted 29 March, 2013 Posted 29 March, 2013 I can't say I'm any happier now as a Saints fan as I was then. Really enjoyed the lower leagues. Damn straight. I went to far more games per season than I previously did (and have this year) in the PL. Even our disastrous last season that saw us relegated from the Champ to L1 had me at St. Mary's more than I'll go this season. And some brilliant away trips too; Leyton Orient in particular was superb. I used to fear relegation from the top flight as an utter tragedy; I now know it is anything but, even when we had seasons when we weren't winning more than we lost. Survival day against Sheffiel United remains my top day ever at St. Mary's.
The9 Posted 29 March, 2013 Posted 29 March, 2013 Fleet services on the way home was utterly superb. Just wall to wall Saints fans all grinning their faces off.
The9 Posted 29 March, 2013 Posted 29 March, 2013 (edited) I quite liked this one, get a coach any way you can... Edited 29 March, 2013 by The9
Tom8558 Posted 29 March, 2013 Posted 29 March, 2013 Really enjoyable day out. We still had a club to support, everyone just had a good time and knew it was the start of the journey back. Don't think that any of us expected to get back to the Premier League so quickly. Just please don't start the discussion again on how many Saints supporters were in Wembley that day.
kpturner Posted 29 March, 2013 Posted 29 March, 2013 Apparently I am too. Any non-American who writes "my bad" is instantly banned. HTH You aren't American are you?
red&white56 Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Great day out! Also made me realise that I really want us to get back to a red and white striped kit.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 30 March, 2013 Posted 30 March, 2013 Any non-American who writes "my bad" is instantly banned. HTH You aren't American are you? FFS. Bad Fred for me. Double banned.
