sotonist Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Oh looks like that's the guy we picked up from Plymouth after Stephens http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/Sam-Gallagher-snapped-Saints/story-15702920-detail/story.html#axzz2OfeeTel0 Glad something is coming of that.

Didn't cost us anything, so even if he turned out sh*t it wouldn't have made too much difference.
Matthew Le God Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Didn't cost us anything. Yes he did, admittedly not a lot... £75,000 up front £50,000 on 17th birthday £15,000 after first game £50,000 after 10 games £50,000 after 20 games £50,000 after 30 games £50,000 if he appears for England £25,000 if he appears for Scotland 15% of profit sell on clause

Someone employed by Plymouth Argyle told me. Plus, I was the one that broke the "news" he was going to sign for us 5 months before it happened... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?34280-Sam-Gallagher-Plymouth-Argyle-youth-player-to-sign-for-Saints Edited 26 March, 2013 by Matthew Le God

ottery st mary Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 re Gallagher......My mate in the pub said it was negotiated down to 150 grand up front... due to their financial situation. If he is wrong:rolleyes: he will never be my sawce again;)
iansums Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Not that again! I love being "itk" Right, answer this one if you can. How come Saints have 21 pts from 6 wins and 2 draws? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/fixtures-results/u18-table/
SuperMikey Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Great to see, think Sam was struggling for goals a little bit this season but looks like he's kept his chin up and found some form! 2 good goalscorers in that team with Gallagher and Seager..
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Gallagher has been injured for a lot of the season, only really come back into it since February. Also well done to Jamal Branker who today played for the first time since coming back from a very bad ligament injury that has kept him out for the best part of a year.
farawaysaint Posted 27 March, 2013 Posted 27 March, 2013 Right, answer this one if you can. How come Saints have 21 pts from 6 wins and 2 draws? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/fixtures-results/u18-table/ It says 20
Saint Garrett Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 What happens if we win this u18 league then? Does it go into a cup comp?
Matthew Le God Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 What happens if we win this u18 league then? Does it go into a cup comp? 1) Before Christmas all the category academies were in 3 leagues. 2) After Christmas, the top 3rd from each league from before Christmas all went into the top league, the middle 3rd into a league and the bottom 3rd into a league. The top 3 teams in the post Christmas top league all go into the semi finals, the top team in the middle league and the top team in the bottom league have a playoff for the last semi final spot againt the winner of the elite league. Hope that makes sense! Southampton and Man Utd were the only clubs to reach the elite stage group of both the category one under 18's and under 21's.

Does it go into a cup comp? http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/barclays-u18-premier-league-tables.html?paramYouthStage=KNOCKOUT if we top the table, we still have to play a semi and a final before winning the whole thing. would be interesting
ottery st mary Posted 7 April, 2013 Posted 7 April, 2013 re Gallagher......My mate in the pub said it was negotiated down to 150 grand up front... due to their financial situation. If he is wrong:rolleyes: he will never be my sawce again;) Wrong info....Sorry. The info was re Stephens for 150,000 grand transfer from Plymouth.. So the other info re the make up of Gallagher transfer/aquisition might well be correct......ie MLG..WHO IS ALWAYS RIGHT;) Anyway both top prospects for Saints...amongst many others. COYS Academy..
david in sweden Posted 8 April, 2013 Posted 8 April, 2013 The boys lost 2-4 at home to Fulham on Saturday. however, there is some explanation as there have been a lot of changes in the last few games with new recruits coming in, (including a couple of schoolboys and yet another young keeper.... .....whilst some of the early season boys have moved up to the U21 squad while Hoskins and Reeves are out on loan.....
