Colinjb Posted 26 March, 2013 Author Share Posted 26 March, 2013 How in the cold light of day tomorrow, is this going to look any better ? We havn't lost touch, still play them at home and in a crisis you havn't made the big decisions. Now grab a brandy and go to bed Alpine, for the sake of us all. Now grab a brandy and go to bed Alpine, for the sake of us all. We havent beaten one of the reasonable quality teams we have played in this campaign. Why are we suddenly going to be beat them at home ? Do you want to discuss this sensibly, or continue with a silly patrnoising tone ? It may be an emotional response, but its backed up by some cold, hard facts. England under Woy are sh*te.

And equalled another result we achieved against Montenegro under a prior manager, a top 30 FIFA team away. Montenegro are quite good. It's so arrogant for England to assume we should win. Dark Munster Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 It really is time for W*nker Woy, the most clueless and uninspiring England manager since Graeme Taylor, to collect his chips.. I can think of a recent manager who's a lot worse.

Montenegro are quite good. It's so arrogant for England to assume we should win. And I still recommend that Brandy for you. Chill man. Come on Colin, Brazil was only a home friendly match. Roy promised that England would pick up on performances, not let the opposition dominate the ball, and pass better. Well that happen against San Marino - not a hard challenge, but was missing last night. Gerrard was the worst culprit, the captain. I'm happy that Roy is introducing some younger players although the choice is tainted. The only players to perform last night were Hart, Cole and Rooney. Carrick was OK first half but failed to get support from his midfield colleagues, Lescott and Smalling were OK in defence and Milner did his usual huff and puff stuff. John Boy Saint Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 Nothing will ever change with such a narrow selection policy, players from Citeh Manure Liverpool & Chelski only last night, teams rammed full of foreign very expensive players, very expensive because they are the best in that position that could be bought for the Mickey Mouse money that was avalable. Strip away that lustre and the English players are really just glue joining all the bits together in those 4 teams. Taking away the Saints tinted specs a week ago last Saturday a team containing 7 English players made an expensive team in Liverpool look very ordinary. I don't want the bulk of the Saints team picked for England thus putting them in the shop window but there must be other players from outside the usual teams who could play in those positions questioned above very easily. Actually for overseas coaches in these days of TV dominating football, it must be so easy to shut down England as they get to see most of those players every chuffin week on TV.Still nowt will happen, everyone could see how last night would pan out, everyone except those directly involved and paid very handsomely for it too. alpine_saint Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 Why is Alpine getting so upset when he has already said he doesn't want us to qualify for Rio anyway? Why cant some of you distinguish between England / English football and the current England set-up ? I am hoping failure to qualify for Rio might lead to a serious f**king clean-out of the England set-up, and the retirement of the likes of Lampard and Rooney. I am hoping failure to qualify for Rio might lead to a serious f**king clean-out of the England set-up, and the retirement of the likes of Lampard and Rooney. What like the failure to qualify for Euro 2008 did? As long as player's names sell replica football shirts they'll walk into the squad, the England "team" is barely anything more than a brand. It's why the squad is made up of disinterested has-beens who do the minimum in the competitive matches they play, and why we've got zero chance of winning a major tournament for a long time to come. The selection process is based around reputation, the club the players plays for, merchandise sales and not current form. Most of the players are paid way too much and their hearts aren't it, and it doesn't matter who the manager is - they are are largely there for the ride. Also quite a few Eastern European nations/South American nations outside of Argentina and Brazil/Top Asian/African/North American nations have improved quite a bit in the last 10-20 years whilst we've gone backwards. Take Montenegro - apart from Jovetic, Vucinic and Savic who all play in Serie A, most of their squad is made up of jobbers that play in the smaller Eastern European leagues. Their an inferior team to us but they're a very young country and the reason why they should have beaten us last night and why their in pole position to qualify is because they wanted it so much more. View From The Top Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 Utter, utter, utter gash. My group of friends have gone from going to every game to not going at all. Overpaid 3rd rate players who get picked because of who they play for, despite not being 1st choice players in many cases. At least in the don't qualify I can relax and enjoy the tournament. Dimond Geezer Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 because they wanted it so much more. That is the crux for me. I can forgive the lack of ability, that is not the fault of the management, or even the players themselves, but to not put in the effort or show any desire to win the game is unforgivable. We have a population 100 times greater than Montenegro, surely we can find 11 players who want to represent their country and will put in a shift doing so. It's time ROTR looked away from the usual 4 teams supplying the bulk of England players.

adrian lord Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 The truth is international football is no longer the apex of the game, but a distant second fiddle to club competition. Even the World Cup is going inexorably the way of the FA Cup has, but about 2 decades lag in the process. After the Arab one it will be totally ****ed. timayes Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 England have been 'building for the future' for a long time now. I just want an England team which picks the best English players taking into account 'ACTUAL' form, rather than historical performances or future potential. Saint Garrett Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 It would be nice. But never going to happen. These 'egos' pretty much run the team anyway. Wouldn't it be nice to see a few players from teams outside of the top 6 play. Fed up of seeing average players playing for England just because they are registered with a top side. It's even worse when they don't play at club level yet still get in the squad.

KelvinsRightGlove Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 I like woy, but lets face it, this is what should be expected of him. His only real 'successes' have come at middling teams, that look to frustrate and nick the odd goal/point. Put him somewhere where the initiative to take e game and attack the opposition, and he struggles. Summarised by his interview, that we did well to draw and we unlucky to not win. We were unlucky not to lose. With The population, financial, infrastructure and various other advantages England hav, there is no way we should escape with a draw. I still can't believe it took him so long to change things, it was clear to see we were getting hammered second half. Fair play to them, second half they made changes which worked, played well, got at us and created chances. They were unlucky not to win imo. Sour Mash Posted 29 March, 2013 Share Posted 29 March, 2013 Just got back from a cracking trip to the two England games. Think Montenegro are a decent team, that play in a ground with a top atmosphere, not an easy place to go for most countries. England were beating Brazil only a couple of months ago. We'll qualify for the World Cup. Yes, we could have a better side and Hodgson isn't particularly inspiring, but we could be a lot worse. Look at Scotland. Wade Garrett Posted 30 March, 2013 Share Posted 30 March, 2013 Just give the job to Gary Neville. Woy is just a carbon copy of previous failing England managers. More important to have actual experience of international football than experience of managing, to be a success with England.
