SO16_Saint Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Do you think Adkins will look to Saints for transfers in the Summer, and if so will NC allow him to?
Appy Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Do you think Adkins will look to Saints for transfers in the Summer, and if so will NC allow him to? Not sure, if they go down they will only be going for fringe players anyway, same as if they stay up actually.
EBS1980 Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Can't see any of the current squad dropping down ( if reading do go down ). He might look at those loaned out, Sharp, Chaplow, Hammond perhaps?
Saint Garrett Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Sharp would probably be on his radar. Deano could do a job there. Maybe he'd look at one of our CB's. Fonte or Hoooveld...Fox?
Tokyo-Saint Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Fox isn't a bad shout as Harte must be in his early 50s by now. Also maybe Richardson on a free. Both of these would work well in a diamond which seems to be one of his prefered formations.
SO16_Saint Posted 26 March, 2013 Author Posted 26 March, 2013 I was thinking maybe Sharp, Hammond, Chaplow and Jos could all be contenders to go.
SO16_Saint Posted 26 March, 2013 Author Posted 26 March, 2013 Yes, or more accurately - he will be come 0915 today
Minsk Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 (Provided we stay up) I think many of our fringe players (not PL standard) will leave in the summer. As others have mentioned: Sharpe, Chaplow, Richardson, Fox, Martin, Butterfield, De Ridder; possibly even the likes of Hoiveld or Fonte if we bring in better CBs? I would think going to Reading would be good moves for any of them. Then, he may even look to loan some of our promising youngsters like Reeves, Stephenson or Chambers. Who knows? But I wish him well; just not at our expense!
Chez Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 One things for sure is if Adkins didn't rate them to play them in the championship (de Ridder, Butterfield, Martin) then he won't buy them for Reading.
Chez Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 First person i thought of was Billy Sharp. he's fallen down the pecking order a little at Forest now that they are playing a big man small man combination.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Wouldn't be surprised if KD goes there in the summer.
pangy Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 I will drive Fox down there myself !!! Chaplow would add some "bite " to their midfield
Colinjb Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 I doubt he will go for Sharp, Le Fondre already fills that rule in the team for them. Wouldn't be surprised to see Dean Hammond go there.
Black Sea Saint Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Maybe Lallana, Lambert, Schneiderlin and Cork will all go there after our relegation and Reading's triumphant escape from relegation
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 I wonder what his relationship with Sharp is like now? If it has soured after what happened here, he may not go. Seems to me Billy doesn't really like to be too far from Yorkshire.
farawaysaint Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 If he gets his 30 million kitty that's being tossed around, who knows? I'm sure there's more than a few players in our squad that any championship team would love. (On the possibility that Reaidng get relegated.) If Nige saves them then we've thrown away a true genius.
Barry Sanchez Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Fox, Gazzaniga, Richardson, Hooiveld, Butterfield, Guly, De Ridder and Mayuka, saaawwwweeet.
Mowgli Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Wouldn't be surprised if KD goes there in the summer. I would - after his remarks when he signed the new contract.
Lets B Avenue Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Fox, Gazzaniga, Richardson, Hooiveld, Butterfield, Guly, De Ridder and Mayuka, saaawwwweeet. So, basically, all your pet-hates should go to Reading, irrespective of whether they were "Adkins signings" or not. Will you feck off to a Reading forum? Just for me?
Saint Charlie Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 The most likely is Billy Sharp, Davies doesnt rate him at Forest and we know Adkins does.
pingwing Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Will you feck off to a Reading forum? Just for me? "Adkins calls a surprise press conference to announce his first new signing as Reading manager. He is pleased to announce Barry Sanchez is joining the Reading team as principal tactician, internet moderator and head of the transfer department with immediate effect. He hopes his years of valuable saints web experience will be the step up Reading need to push for Europe next season"
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 I would - after his remarks when he signed the new contract. Duhhh, signing a new contract is a way of strengthening your bargaining position to get a move away. Just like what Morgan has done. Isn't that right WC?

Turkish Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 Fox, Gazzaniga, Richardson, Hooiveld, Butterfield, Guly, De Ridder and Mayuka, saaawwwweeet. No chance. Cortese signings.
CB Saint Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 I will drive Fox down there myself !!! Chaplow would add some "bite " to their midfield let me know if you want to share the driving
Whitey Grandad Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 let me know if you want to share the driving Can't he take the bus?

I know, I know, it does seem like a lifetime!!!! N.B. Yes, I am obviously dismissing any rumours re his previous entities such as Cheese on Toast, Dune and Stanley. 'They' were all banned for life and there is no way the admins would let 'them' back just to pocket another fiver. No siree!!!!

Chez Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 No chance. Cortese signings. I'd have Richardson down as a Adkins/Reid signing myself.
Turkish Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 I'd have Richardson down as a Adkins/Reid signing myself. Seeing as he was here before Adkins that's unlikely.

Over 2000 posts in a mere 4 months is experience enough, like having a new signing play every game regardless of his history!

captainchris Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 I will drive Fox down there myself !!! Chaplow would add some "bite " to their midfield Fox - No you won't - he's already in my car half way there..........
Giordano Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 I think the most likely are: KD, GDP, RC and BS. All would get into Readings first team in the CCC and know what is needed to get promoted. KD was number 1 goalie in the CC championship team of the year - i know he just signed a new contract but that just means we get a fee for him- and he gets to play every week instead of getting splinters waiting for Boruc to get injured, GDP scored 11 in the CCC last year and dominated many otherwise compact CC defences with his physicality, speed and technical skills, plus he has flexibility to pay different roles which is always a good attribute for the manager, whilst for the early part of last season Chappie was our most effective midfielder, meaning he was one of the best of not the best midfielder of his type in the League. Billy Sharp is Billy Sharp- with the right service he will score goals at CCC level. Those are the four who in my opinion would get playing time under NA at Reading in the CCC. I dont see him buying "maybe" players, they will want to bounce right back with a strong squad added to by a couple or three marquee signings( ours are not marquee signings- they are incredibly solid and guaranteed to do a good job for you in the ccc signings) from outside..
david in sweden Posted 26 March, 2013 Posted 26 March, 2013 (edited) First person i thought of was Billy Sharp. To Reading.....maybe so, but if NA persists with this compensation claim against Saints .....the price will go up another £2 million.......(in order to balance the books). ....but I was wondering ....Do you think ...he might want to take.....Steve De Ridder?... Not unless dune was an 18 year old lad called Tommy anyway. Don't let that get in the way of your mod slamming though.

Considering he never picked him here, that is highly unlikely.
