pap Posted 24 March, 2013 Share Posted 24 March, 2013 Inspired by RonManager's Best Intro's thread and informed by my own musical prejudices, I'm perhaps fondest of music with a rousing or genuinely well thought out climax. It's always annoyed me a little that an epic like Freebird doesn't have a recorded climax ( although I get why for that particular song ). Anyway, ball rolling:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MKECkPawhU
Sheaf Saint Posted 24 March, 2013 Share Posted 24 March, 2013 Not to p155 on your bonfire Pap, but there isn't really much of a climax to that track - it just kind of peters out at the end.
pap Posted 24 March, 2013 Author Share Posted 24 March, 2013 It's a climax and an echo of that climax Blimey. What more do you people want?
Pugwash Posted 24 March, 2013 Share Posted 24 March, 2013 I'm with Bexy - more of a slow fade-out for insomniacs. Classical - I guess would have to be Nessun Dorma. Classic Rock - probably Deep Purple 'Sweet Child in Time', Led Zepp 'Stairway' or a few things by Wishbone Ash, or even Bohemian Rhapsody. Struggling to think of anything more contemporary, as most of it just fades out. Guess it's a generational thing.
shurlock Posted 24 March, 2013 Share Posted 24 March, 2013 Dondante by My Morning Jacket (album version). Defy anyone to say that's not an epic climax.

RonManager Posted 24 March, 2013 Share Posted 24 March, 2013 Then there are those that just STOP (not a bad intro either). http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=oelLKR_ebcU
dubai_phil Posted 24 March, 2013 Share Posted 24 March, 2013 Back in the Day I always found the last few moments of the Album version of Love to Love You Baby (Donna Summer) was pretty Climactic

pap Posted 27 March, 2013 Author Share Posted 27 March, 2013 Killing in the name of, as listened to on the school run this morning It's basically all about the climax.
Hamilton Saint Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 Roger Daltry's scream in "Won't Get Fooled Again" Jimmy Page's solo in "Whole Lotta Love" the coda of Springsteen's "Jungleland"
Lord Duckhunter Posted 28 March, 2013 Share Posted 28 March, 2013 Robbie Robertson's guitar solo at the end of The Band's King Harvest (has surely come). The piano end of "A day in the life". But this is my fav, simple rock and roll at it's best, kicks back the chair and bangs the piano lid down. Looks like The Killer has escaped from the local penitentiary

Looks like The Killer has escaped from the local penitentiary I was watching film of Jerry Lee Lewis just last night. There was always something very scary about him on stage. No wonder they called him The Killer! And then there was Little Richard - always something deranged and kinky about him on stage!
ericofarabia Posted 29 March, 2013 Share Posted 29 March, 2013 Je t'aime with Jane Birkin, but the climax comes before the end of the song several times ;-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=9krvMqLnc5U
