RonManager Posted 24 March, 2013 Posted 24 March, 2013 What are your favourite intros, what builds you up and builds you up and then splatters you all over the walls like a creme egg? Starter for 10.........
RonManager Posted 24 March, 2013 Author Posted 24 March, 2013 How about that Doors one, The End? Which put me in the mind of.. [video=youtube;b-wgIht3roA]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-wgIht3roA
pap Posted 24 March, 2013 Posted 24 March, 2013 As well a kick-ass intro, also one of the best songs ever - although I wouldn't want to be one of Zach de la Rocha's kids trying to earn pocket money. At the start of the song, he says "Bring that sh!t in". Bit later on, he says "bring it back the other way". Consistency is the key to parenting, I feel

swannymere Posted 24 March, 2013 Posted 24 March, 2013 Stone Roses - Love Spreads. This is the non-video version with the full intro. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rxIheBZhbY
Pugwash Posted 24 March, 2013 Posted 24 March, 2013 (edited) Some nice ones in there. Rather than building slowly, this one kicks straight in on the first three notes: For intros that build, perhaps Pink Floyd 'Shine on you crazy diamond' Edited 24 March, 2013 by Pugwash

I think it's something like 8 minutes before you even hear a vocal.

RonManager Posted 25 March, 2013 Author Posted 25 March, 2013 (edited) I've got Tina Weymouth's plectrum, doncha know. Edited 25 March, 2013 by RonManager longer intro!
Hamilton Saint Posted 27 March, 2013 Posted 27 March, 2013 Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond": an epic intro, that includes a great guitar solo from David Gilmour, before the lyrics begin - eight minutes and 41 seconds into the track!
dubai_phil Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 Don't understand how Derek Clapton & his Pizza haven't got a mention for Layla.
Hamilton Saint Posted 28 March, 2013 Posted 28 March, 2013 (edited) Don't understand how Derek Clapton & his Pizza haven't got a mention for Layla. That's a coda! Or do you mean the opening guitar riff? Edited 28 March, 2013 by Hamilton Saint
Alanh Posted 12 April, 2013 Posted 12 April, 2013 Pretty Vacant by the Sex Pistols is the correct answer to this question. The rest of the song is OK, but the intro is the best rock intro bar none.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 15 April, 2013 Posted 15 April, 2013 What are your favourite intros, what builds you up and builds you up and then splatters you all over the walls like a creme egg? Starter for 10......... Love this track. Is apparently the direct influence to intro on this, also great, track:
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 15 April, 2013 Posted 15 April, 2013 I'm loving the intro to (and whole of, truth be told) this at the minute, sounds great live!
RonManager Posted 16 April, 2013 Author Posted 16 April, 2013 [video=youtube_share;22iu_TQ6Vo0] Got a tattered, knackered copy of Nut Gone, god bless Stanley Unwin.
sandwichsaint Posted 19 April, 2013 Posted 19 April, 2013 15 seconds of this and you know what you're getting, any pub in any town.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 20 April, 2013 Posted 20 April, 2013 This is another great intro, Levon's drums, followed by Rick Danko's bass, the piano and then the whole band. Great start to a great Scorsese film, which is played after a few drinks every New Years eve in the Duck household. [video=youtube;-WoI95PTizs]
