pap Posted 24 March, 2013 Share Posted 24 March, 2013 As well a kick-ass intro, also one of the best songs ever - although I wouldn't want to be one of Zach de la Rocha's kids trying to earn pocket money. At the start of the song, he says "Bring that sh!t in". Bit later on, he says "bring it back the other way". Consistency is the key to parenting, I feel

Pugwash Posted 24 March, 2013 Share Posted 24 March, 2013 (edited) Some nice ones in there. Rather than building slowly, this one kicks straight in on the first three notes: For intros that build, perhaps Pink Floyd 'Shine on you crazy diamond' Edited 24 March, 2013 by Pugwash

I think it's something like 8 minutes before you even hear a vocal.

Hamilton Saint Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond": an epic intro, that includes a great guitar solo from David Gilmour, before the lyrics begin - eight minutes and 41 seconds into the track! Hamilton Saint Posted 28 March, 2013 Share Posted 28 March, 2013 (edited) Don't understand how Derek Clapton & his Pizza haven't got a mention for Layla. That's a coda! Or do you mean the opening guitar riff? Edited 28 March, 2013 by Hamilton Saint
Alanh Posted 12 April, 2013 Share Posted 12 April, 2013 Pretty Vacant by the Sex Pistols is the correct answer to this question. The rest of the song is OK, but the intro is the best rock intro bar none.

Lord Duckhunter Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 This is another great intro, Levon's drums, followed by Rick Danko's bass, the piano and then the whole band. Great start to a great Scorsese film, which is played after a few drinks every New Years eve in the Duck household.
