The naivety towards this whole business every time one of these stories comes up is amazing. Nine times out of ten, if one of the big clubs really wants a

player from a smaller club, they get them.

 

Chelsea will have about half a dozen prospective targets for right back, and this little bit of media briefing is the first salvo in what will be a very long and drawn out summer if their interest is serious. If they decide they really want Clyne, they'll probably get him. And there's little or nothing that the club can do about it.

This story is, like, sooooo all completely made up by, like, lazy journalists and stuff.

 

Excuse me while I now go into a hilarious routine on how journalists randomly link clubs and players off the top of their head. Oh yes, it's top drawer observational comedy.
