Crouch; what a clown.

Clown who paid the players wages from his own pocket for 2 months when the Saints were in Admin, respect is due.

There wouldn't have been a club for Markus to buy without him.

Do some research before making stupid comments, even if you do intend it as trolling.

I actually saw someone wearing one, a sad middle aged bloke outside the Northam end.

I think they were designed by that Gecko bloke who appears to have been hiding in shame ever since.

This absolutely... he may have made some wrong business calls but compare what he did with what's happening down the road - the guy is Saints through and through and deserves better than some are giving him!

Wilde and his chums promised investment that never came in and spunked money we didn't have on Skacel, Rasiak, Saganowski etc.

Thank **** for Cortese and Markus.

Where is he now?

What's your views?

Does Leon Crouch still go to St Mary's?

If so, where do they sit?

Are you bored this morning HHS? :)

Leon Crouch shares a box with Lawrie Mac and Patrick Trant. I was in there with them for the Villa home game. I will pass on all the charming comments on this thread to Leon when I am next in there.

Crouch was a star in many ways.:)

CLOWN.........You only have to look at Rupert Lowe and the little helper Michael Wilde.

Lowe and Wilde = Pair of Clowns.:p

Please let him know that most Southampton fans are grateful for him putting his hand in his pocket so magnificently duringthe 2009 summer. Ignore the trolls on here.

Without Crouch's last minute wages intervention (not to mention the loss he suffered fronting up the cash for MLT's consortium IIRC), we'd have been seriously fooked.

Thank you, Leon.

Agreed, please do make sure he knows his efforts are appreciated and he is NOT remembered in the same way as Wilde and Lowe. Crouch put his hand in his pocket to help us out, rather than trying to line his own pocket and feed his ego as the others did.

Crouch might not have gotten everything right, but he did everything for the right reason.

Sorry am I missing something with the Crouch love in?

Wasn't this the guy that gambled everything (selling off the family silver in the process) on a failed attempt to get back to the prem under Burley?

He was part the reason we went into admin in the first place. If that hadn't of happened, he would not have needed to pay the 500k he did to pay the players wages.

A lot of people had a hand in sending us into administration. Crouch didn't have to write a check for 500K of his own money to save the club. As a Saints fan you have to respect someone who is willing to do that.

I thought that was Wilde?

We spent a club record £6 million (The theo money) on transfers during the 06-07 season before Wilde's first spell as chairman ended in February 2007, gambling on one of the best squads in the championship, Jermaine Wright and a blithering idiot achieving promotion.

Then after we failed we had to sell Kenwyne/Bale loan out Rasiak/Skacel the following season, Dodd & Gorman, Pearson etc. etc.

From memory I think Crouch took over after the money had been gambled, I may be wrong.

You're wrong. The executives ie hone, hoos and dulieu were effectively in control of club then. Crouch only had control from nov 2007-may 2008. He and the other non execs ie lawrie and Corbett and trant had no say at all until then. Despite this crouch tried all he could to stop the execs putting us into financial meltdown. Leon is a good egg all round and had sfc interest all the way through.

Michael Wilde posted on here as Saintmarc.

I'm pretty sure the Michael Wilde on here actually is Michael Wilde. He started posting under his own name after he and Lowe came back into SFC in the summer of 2008; I remember him posting some stuff back then. His account is clearly still there, but I can't imagine he posts any more.

Hush with your sound logic. We don't like it on here. The guy talks like a farmer so he must be one of us.
