whelk Posted 22 March, 2013 Share Posted 22 March, 2013 Looks like Fletcher got a bad injury. Sunderland in trouble without him. Don't wish injuries on anyone but can't help thinking of advantage to Saints

Graffito Posted 22 March, 2013 Share Posted 22 March, 2013 They struggle for goals but they're not the only ones. His injury may not be critical to their survival. Thinking back to the match at SMS they were solid and uninspiring, a bit like Norwich. Think they'll just about stay up.
bender Posted 24 March, 2013 Share Posted 24 March, 2013 Out of the bottom 3, it's Wigan that you think could get out of it. Sunderland are the favourites to take their place way ahead of us. Were playing far better than them even with Fletcher.

Saint Charlie Posted 24 March, 2013 Share Posted 24 March, 2013 Is Fletcher part of the problem? He always seems to get goals in a team that struggles to create much - maybe his style limits the team a little?

Wiggles31 Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 Brilliant! Can anyone realistically see them getting more points than us? Forgetting Villa and Wigan of course! I would be bricking it if I was them given their form and run in. They'll go and beat Utd now!
SNSUN Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 They're in big trouble. Has O'Neill relegated anyone before? Don't think he has. Interestingly his current and ex-club could both go down...

Gis Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 I would imagine Manure may be up for the match on Saturday as they probably still smart a little from the p take they received from the locals after the last game of last season.
Saint Garrett Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 Good news for us. They're a poor side with tough games. We should be able to get enough points to finish above them this season.

I was tipping them to go down as they were dire before they beat us at Christmas, then they beat Man City the match after, and I just assumed they'd be off into midtable somehow. The9 Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 Papers today saying it is likely Utd will rest players on Saturday before the Chelsea FA Cup tie. Let's face it, they could rest their league side for the next 3 matches and it wouldn't make much difference to their league position.
Window Cleaner Posted 27 March, 2013 Share Posted 27 March, 2013 (edited) Papers today saying it is likely Utd will rest players on Saturday before the Chelsea FA Cup tie. Utd rest players all of the time. Still win most of their games though. They have a pretty homogenous squad. They would have been playing in the CL this week anyway so a cup match instead of a CL game won't make much difference to them.
