Made _me_ laugh!

Why would it make you laugh? You've got me on ignore so can't read anything I post. And why aren't your quaffing chianti in your dungarees or skiing in the Dolomites? Common Suzy, you're supposed to have a great life out there!

Or have stricter, nightclub-like security on the gates.

No trainers, etc.

Turkish, where are you mate?

I'm all do this. A strict dress code is certainly needed, we want to be a champions league club we've got to start behaving like one.

Got an email today about corporate areas, and the most expensive one was £3200 for a box, food, drink and bevvies, and a show after the game with a player interview and the chance to win some signed memorabilia. 10 people per box...is it just me, or does £320 PP seem extremely steep for what's on offer? No mention of it being all you can eat or open bar, either.

Yeah it is, ridiculously expensive and by all accounts the food is crap as well.

How unexpected is it that a game featuring one of the big 4 is a sell-out?

Not very unexpected to sellout vs Chelsea of course, but we sold out in this seasons relegation threatened campaign to...

1. Man Utd

2. Tottenham

3. Newcastle

4. Sunderland

5. Arsenal

6. Man City

7. QPR

8. Liverpool

9. Chelsea

And having the following games remaining...

10. West Ham - They have sold out 3,000 away tickets and could well be another sellout

11. West Brom - The least likely of the remaining games to be a sellout, but you never know

12. Stoke - Last game of the season, very likely to sell out

So in a relegation threatened season, Saints will likely sellout for 11 (or possibly 12) of the 19 games. Imagine if we actually had a good season in the top half of the Premier League! 32k capacity is simply too small for Saints in a Premier League relegation battle, let alone where Cortese/Liebherr want to take us.

Manchester airport is packed after games. Glory hunters and confused Irish men fly in from all over using budget airlines. I struggle to get down the Avenue on match days. If we do start getting massive crowds, we are going to have to do something about the transport. It is bad enough as it is without having loads of glory hunters & Irish coming in from the airport as well.

Lots of fans will come from Japan to watch Maya and also Radhi Jaidi is attracting fans from North Africa to SMS. The more diverse supporter base, the more different directions the fans will be going after the game so won't experience the same disrutption as United who have a narrow fan base.

That's one of the problems we will have Charlie. You can approach manchester from different directions but to get to st Mary's you pretty much have to come from North to south (except for those from the sea fairing nations and Hythe). Let's either improve the roads or move the new stadium to manchester. Or... There is always the station option.

If the fans want to come they will (in their droves). We live in such a mollycoddle society that we want to make things easy for everyone. Its sick.

What makes you think that a relegation season makes crowds smaller? I think the current uptake in sales is due to people wanting to play thier part in keeping Saints up. If we stay up and are mid table this time next year, I'd say we have less chance of sell outs against the likes of QPR, West ham etc. Not more.

Long overdue.

Do you think Chelsea would get 42,000 at Stamford Bridge if they were in a relegation fight? When Chelsea were a mid table Premier League team in the mid 90's before the Harding/Bates/Abramovich money they averaged similar to what Saints did in League One.

Winning stuff gets you big crowd increase. I don't reckon it makes much difference if ur only 6th instead of 16th.

Let's not forget the novelty factor of first season back in the prem.

The fan base of chelsea now bears little relation to the one of twenty years ago. Yes they would.

If we were 6th, it would likely be because we had a team packed full of internationals, playing good football, regularly winning and a very positive atmosphere about the fanbase. It would also mean we'd be more likely to go on better cup runs and possibly win something. All things that would contribute to growing the fanbase and having larger attendances, something a 32k St Mary's would hamper us from doing. Every sellout this season in a relegation fight means the club can't meet the demand of the fanbase and people are missing out, which is why Cortese commissioned AFL to come up with those designs.

And why does it bear "little relation"?

When you say "yes they would", are you really saying you believe Chelsea would sell 42,000 tickets for a relegation fight season? Really? People would desert them in their droves if they were in a relegation fight.

Someone is Turkish fishing.

Whilst it's good games are selling out, there were a lot of Liveprool fans in the home section last week, about 6 round me, four of whom were Spanish. I would imagine Chelsea would be the same, although the nationality of the glory hunter might be different.

All paying customers I suppose.

Whilst I am pro-expansion think we need to see the likes of Norwich, Reading, WBA, etc. sell out a few weeks in advance then we're in buisness.

I think we'd have to actually loose a few fans to achieve this.
