actually i think it was The9's shot i got my arse in the way off late in the second half

Did me a favour with that one, was headed for the corner flag.

More stats needed for the whole story! Like the9 had more shots than the away team!

Good game and a laugh. Cheers lads

Probably about right, I had 7 that I can remember, only 2 inside the box, but they were the worst ones. It definitely showed that I hadn't played for 6 months. :(

We should definitely have another go at it. Think a few of us looked rusty having not played for a while, something backed up by the legs complaining today.

I stood on the ball twice in midfield, I think that's doubled my total for my entire footballing career previously. Ground was a tad uneven in places. :D

As for "legs complaining", I am taking about 20 seconds to stand up and even longer to get upstairs.

Sincere thanks to one and all, especially Steve and Rabbit. Came home under very difficult circumstances and the game was a terrific experience and a welcome distraction. A privilege to play with and against you all. Cheers.

Pitch was awful. 6 yards box drops by about a foot! That would be why my gentle tap-in (and I wasn't the one that was offside, according to the ref), ended up as me standing on the ball... well... it still went in....

...notice no one mentioned I had one one of the only shots on target in the game with my first touch... pffff

Rabbit was the one offside, if you want someone to blame...

Number 8 home team, having switched allegiance before kick off.

I liked TT's quote when free on the edge of the box and asking for a pass "make an old man happy"

Dave, you played in this? Is your leg back to fitness now?

Thanks, but in retrospect, I've never wanted to have a goal ruled as disallowed so much in my life...

I feel like I'm still playing, every time I look at a staircase or stand up. :(

FWIW I didn't think Rabbit was offside either, and Baj definitely wasn't.

Just arrived back in LA, gotta say my happiest memory of the trip home!! Some pretty impressive performances, including, but not exclusive to all four centre backs, the two goalies and Mr Smirkin, who improved he sobered up ;-)

Our two CBs had to be at their best to stifle the threat of Scott/Rabbit/Steve, we rode our luck and did a good old Italian 'smash and grab'.

Thanks for the game guys, Enjoyed myself, shame my competitive streak ruined the rest of the day for me, I was in a right mood with the missus!

I made two passes I was happy with in the entire match. And one shot (the one that was narrowly wide of the left post from outside the box). Guh. :(

I think my kicking was more accurate than your passing

THAT'S saying something! ;-)

Your kicking was good. My passing wasn't inaccurate, it was just very well spaced out, i.e. I can only remember 3 coming off in 75 minutes on-pitch and only even attempting a couple of others. This is not normal, even for "standing still" me, v3.0.

Ah well.

Given that we ruled in the wonder strike from Baj, can we count this strike in to the side netting as an equaliser?? I'm calling it a draw

Yeah, I know the feeling, wasnt massively happy with my performance, couldnt get a grip of the midfield nor string enough passes or shoot accurately enough. I actually came home not annoyed with the result butmy completely abject performance.

And Ihave had a pretty decent season in the centre of midfield in the top sunday league.

Still, I enjoyed it, whens the next one ?

Watford away, June 8th

Had my MRI today, see the Consultant end of May. Wonder if she'll tell me not to play football again. On the bright side the knee's been a right mess since Saturday as planned.
