I saw chalton/sheff weds earlier in the season (don't ask, long story) and Primus looked top draw, at least at this level.

Cranie looked very average (i quite rated him at saints) and I'm not sure if he is still in their starting X1? (he didn't play last saturday)

Charlton were very poor that day, and also i spoke to someone that saw them at QPR midweek and they were dire there too. If we play half-decent we can reasonably expect some sort of result tomorrow.

Charlton started off bad and then came into the game, then they were the only team in it for a long period and then we got the winner. They werent that bad and could have easily won the game between two very average sides. Cranie did play against QPR.

I reckon it's 'cos now their the richest club in the world he likes to rub our noses in it what with them walking the league, Loftus Road bursting at the seams with twice as many fans as us...oh, hang on...

Was interesting to see Charlton fans struggled to fill only the top tier at QPR the other night...that must be an away trip of all of 7 or 8 miles...

cranie is another titanic player.

primus is decent player.

both will still get plenty of stick though, still they can always comfort themselves by counting their money, safe in the knowledge that they are unaffected by the financial crisis that is having an adverse effect on us mere mortals.

Flyer has been around for a long time and generally always adds something good to a thread. (Or at least another viewpoint, without any bias.)

As for the original point of this thread:

I have always that Primus (despite being a Skate) has been a solid and consistant player, without ever being anything special.

I firmly believe that had Burley played Cranie a lot sooner (or at least one game sooner) in our play-off season we would not ourselves in the situation we are now in. i.e. I think we would have won promotion, and may have subsequently been relegated again, but we would have more money, may have been taken over, but almost certainly would not have our current chairman back at the helm.

Oh, and yes, they will both almost certainly take a lot of stick from the Saints fans today.

I know and agree, I just don't understand how or why a QPR fan ends up regularly posting on a Southampton forum.

Because he has encountered a decent level of debate (:D) and exchanges of view? (:smt062)

I find it more understandable than seeing some of our 'fishy fiends' on here more consistently!

Primus is actually a decent bloke, despite playing for Pompey.

I thought that and, impressed by his 'found Jesus' story I went to hear him talk. It was indeed quite an interesting story (even though I'm not that religious myself) but I was left wondering how much was about his religion and how much was about trying to sell a book. I soon found out. I asked him to sign a copy of his book that I could auction to raise money for a charity that he supported. He did and said ' that's twenty quid please mate....'. I was so gob smacked, I paid it!

Back to football - a very average player adored by Pompey fans in the same way that we love Frannie Benali. Cranie had bags of potential but was never really given the extended run of games to develop properly. How he must wish he was part of the youth set up at Saints now. Would have had a much better chance of actually making it.

Is Cranie on loan at Charlton?

Now that Harry has left Pompey what is to become of him I wonder?
