Fair enough. I've never heard of him!

Scottish International, former team mate and European Cup Winner at Nottingham Forest - thought most people with a level of football knowledge knew the name?

Just seen that tackle.

If Mark Halsey isn´t sidelined the rest of the season it´s a disgrace.

First task for a referee is always protect the players. If they fail so miserable they should not be out there.

Wonder if it´s okay to vomit a bit over that non-call??

Should have been a red card.

LOL - probably not.

As I said earlier, I don't recall the standard of officiating ever being this low.

But, as you've said, blowing free kick and penalty calls is one thing, but missing lethal tackles is something else.

I'll probably get whacked for this but I'm wondering if it's time for football to join (ice) hockey in having two referees - essentially one for each half. The game these days is just moving too quickly for them.

Newcastle look a bit naff away from home. They are the sort of team, if you are at the bottom, you would want to play!

If in doubt, I always pull this one out! ;)

Pretty rubbish day results wise. That Wigan result just pulls a hell of a lot of teams right back into it.

Although it's starting to look as if Reading and QPR are being pretty much cut adrift now.

Referee's having a very important role in the fight for survival.

The Ref association need to get rid of some of their old weights. Foy, Halsey....age has taken its toll and their are out of touch with football nowadays.

Potentially 1 point ahead going into Reading away, may need a favour from QPR v Wigan on the same weekend.

Well Refs have let us down today, Norwich had harsh sending off, harsh penalty, should have a penalty. Wigan should have been down to 10 and scored a goal from a blatant handball.

Could have had Wigan and Sunderland well below us.

West Ham and Newcastle are only 2 points ahead of us.

Newcastle are over-extending their ressources, a couple more injuries again today. Could be in big trouble if they lose against Sunderland.

Posted

Still in our own hands. All the run ins are pretty even, but QPR have the easiest. Newcastle are not safe and injuries stacking up again!

I think all we can do is worry about our games and not worry about what Wigan, Villa and the rest do!

Three points at Norwich and Reading would be nice - don't forget Wigan's game in hand is at Man City. They still have pride to play for - but it's a localish derby and the City fans will demand a win...bragging rights up for grabs!

Really wouldn't be surprised if Wigan stay up and send us down.

Personally, I think they could stay up and send Sunderland down - Sunderland have a really tough set of games left and sounded toothless today. Interestingly, we both play Stoke, Spurs and each other in the last 3 games.

We're going down, no doubt about it.

The win yesterday and performance is just pointless. We might as well of not won really, we need to get a gap on Wigan, Reading and QPR as they are looking most likely to go down at the moment and we haven't done that.

Even though we haven't been in the drop-zone since December now we just don't have any luck whatsoever.

Luckless teams get relegated.

Yep. We'd just as well play the reserves for our final 9 games, it's pointless to put out a full strength team as we're already relegated. Woe is us.

It's all part of the football world wide anti Saints agenda.
