Wow, he can't shoot?

Never noticed that this season. No Sireee..........

IF he starts to shoot (and score) then he would become More Than immense, he'd make Messi look.....

In the warm up he had 9 or 10 shots and didnt score from any. Rickie and JR probably scored 50%.

To be fair his one in the second half was a good save from Jones. It was the one he dragged wide of the nesr post that was poorest in the first half.

His silky skills were back though, great to watch.

Pretty sure we had a thread on this at exactly this time last year. Tends to pull his shots quite a bit, he never really hits them like he backs himself either.

That said, it's a minor gripe as long as he plays like he did yesterday.

His finishing is woeful.

Theres not much he can do really if its an instinctive shot and he keeps missing he wont get better as you either have it or you dont, for shots where he has time its technique and composure or lackof and that is something he can work on.

to be fair to him sometimes he is off balance having twinkletoesed it through a defence. Also unlike many he is more than willing to give it a go with his wrong foot, even tough volleys. Most players will take the safer route of bringing it down and trying to work it on to their stronger foot (Puncheon is a prime example) rather than take the opoortunity when it arises.

Thought he had a tremendous game yesterday all in all. His first touch on the run is an absolute delight to watch. The chance in the second half came from great movement and then the most wonderful turnand control all in one movement. Without that skill there would have been no chance.

And to think Downing gets in ahead of him in the England squad

I must say, I was shocked with a few of his attempts yesterday. He's certainly lost his goal-scoring edge, although I'm sure in time he'll get it back, and he's still very important to the team as an assistant.

he literally shouldn't be allowed to shoot. If i was ponch i'd be saying ok adam no sí disparar si tienes oportunidad de pasarlo en la red que es bastante justo, pero no quiero verte tratando de darle un tortazo no más. Te estás vergonzoso.

Excellent game yesterday, watched some of his goal attempts closely, looked to me as if his anticipatation and timing are slightly off most of the time, tends to lean back too far to try to get too much ooomph on the ball. Not an expert but I think he's over-complicating his shooting. Needs to watch JRod, he keeps it really simple

His biggest weakness shooting, but it was great to see him back to his best yesterday. Was a performance of a player who is the second best English youngster in the PL. And he is only 24 so still yet to peak. Needs to work on this aspect of his game.

It amazes me that someone who can't shoot can have 49 goals to his name

But then the whole team could do with improving on the shooting front

I think 1 of Lallana's biggest problems is he is too nice if he had a nasty selfish streak he would be awesome

Just lacks a little confidence in front of goal. Probably just needs one or two to go in any old way and he'll be back to shooting on impulse instead of delaying a fraction.

He plays on the left,

he plays on the right,

If Lallana could shoot,

He'd make Messi look ****e

Dream on! Messi is 50 times the better player

Oh, I'm sorry, you were only joking. Silly me:blush:

If only we knew someone who was

1) amazing at scoring goals from distance.

2) talking to the club

:)

We might have a good mentor for our Ads :)

really? Puncheon has scored at least three with his right foot this season. If Lallana had half of Puncheon's kicking ability (passing and shooting) he would be in the Enland team.

His shooting has regressed this year. He doesn't back himself from distance now either.

He thinks about it too much. When he doesn't have time to think (eg West Ham away) he naturally finishes. Needs to work hard on that part of his game, if he cracks it he'll be some player. Still, had his best game of the season IMHO on Sat so I won't quibble.

JRods shooting is pants too. Always seems to find the keeper.
I've noticed that as well. Generally our chance conversion rate has been pretty poor of late, not just Lallana/Rodriguez.

After SRL had muffed his early chance on Saturday, we were trying to recall him scoring any "one-on-ones with the keeper" in his 100 goals.

We couldn't, but his 101 was his first free-kick goal for 2 years. Bompey away, 12 March 2011.

Swindon away last season in the Carling Cup.

Adam needs to practice shooting a lot more along the ground too many of his attempts at goal are at a comfortable high for the keeper to save. The good finishers shoot low and that has the effect that the GK knows he has to go down early, with Adam they know he is unlikely to "drill it low" and will more than likely "try to place the ball past them"

We have had problems when key chances have fallen to him as he has not put them away - West Ham being the exception. His problem is he always tries to flick the ball or side foot it with the inside or outside of the foot. At Norwich he only needed to put his foot through it and straight in front of him with the keeper on his backside. There is obviously times when you need to side foot it but the Liverpool effors was very poor and side footed straight at the keeper.
