Huffton Posted 17 March, 2013 Share Posted 17 March, 2013 Yesterday the whole ground sung it slowly, and it sounded superb. Until the second time round when the board banging morons decided to crank the speed up to warp 5 and buggered the whole thing up. Maybe at the next game could we give the boards a day off and keep it at the correct (slow) speed? So the rest of the ground can keep up and actually give the place a bit of atmosphere again? John Boy Saint Posted 17 March, 2013 Share Posted 17 March, 2013 I too thought it sounded great, especially just before the final whistle when all the stands were singing in unison, rather than the "Row, Row, Row your boat" staggered singing that often takes over. eelpie Posted 17 March, 2013 Share Posted 17 March, 2013 Agree. Best sung in unison beginning slowly all around the ground. I read somewhere that ManU have a fans choir that practices their songs and chants. Is it time for a Northam Choral Society? On a different tack, there are so may versions of 'When The Saints Come Marching In'. I keep meaning to start a project of discovering if there have been 1000 different recordings. My out of season project perhaps. Then perhaps a different one could be played at the ground each week.

Tokyo-Saint Posted 17 March, 2013 Share Posted 17 March, 2013 The choir thing is a great idea. Maybe turks can stand at the front, obviously immaculately dressed and conduct everyone. Once we whip through the 5 or 6 songs we have, he could lead us in some Smiths songs adapted for each game. There is a light and it never goes out. There is a light and it never goes out. It's sung slowly loads, just most of the time the rest of the ground (and a fair bit of the Northam) don't join in. Was an excellent rendition towards the end of the game though. Thought we could have been louder when our backs were to the wall at 2-1 and the team needed as much support as it could get.
ottery st mary Posted 17 March, 2013 Share Posted 17 March, 2013 Still...far too many fans out of tune.. Gareth Malone would be willing to sort this problem out:)

Elias Posted 17 March, 2013 Share Posted 17 March, 2013 It's such a great chant when the whole ground joins in. There aren't many Premier League grounds with a better atmosphere, even on a **** day. When even the Chapel joins in the place absolutely rocks, just wish it happened more.

Bucks Saint Posted 17 March, 2013 Share Posted 17 March, 2013 Nope. Taylor Swift. Then when taking a break from choir trainng, she could belt out "I knew you were trouble when you walked in" to NC
