Saint-Armstrong Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Thank you very much, we played very well today We have played well ever since I came here but not got the results we deserved I am trying to instill my philosophy Football is based on mentality, we need to learn some good lessons from this game There were many positives today Especially seeing how brave we were, going head-to-head and pushing forward We did not allow Liverpool to have any given moment to play Today we varied Jay and Rickie's positioning a little bit We believe that our set-up today was the correct one It is true, the set-up worked very well We deserved a very good victory against Liverpool Jose was unlucky not to play, as were the rest of the squad It's a shame we can only pick eleven, we should be allowed to line up twenty-five There's always a footballing argument in the sense of who I pick Perhaps I'd not prefer a two-week break, but I have some internationals on the training ground Perhaps I might need help at Staplewood, with the internationals all going

Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Not on the Sky interview. Was he wearing a blue tie?
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Pretty much to form of what we were told he'd be like when he arrived. Does not care much for stifling the opposition as long as we do our job based on the way we play. A few changes here and there but the base style of playing is the same home or away, against top or bottom teams. There is an undercurrent of controlled aggression with this where we are the protagonists in the match and that is a nice feeling. A big few weeks coming up for the development and u18 squads - plenty of them will be training with the first team members not on international duty and some will be playing for contracts, some will be playing for promotion to the first team squad next season.

Interesting point actually would be good to see another of the fringe players break through onto the bench before the end of the season.
Puddings and Monkeys Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Is he speaking English yet? Why the **** do you care? You must be pished we won.

Tokyo-Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 " soy feliz. ganamos hoy. Bearsy un pene pequeño y patos folla. disparamos, anotamos, ganamos. eviscerado DJ Spoony"
Avenue Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Is he speaking English yet? Bit of a weirdo aren't you Glasgow?
scotty Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Do any scots speak english really? Not really, no. One of the funniest lines from In The Loop was when Malcolm Tucker snarled at his american counterpart "by the way, dont you ever call me ****ing English again".
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Bit of a weirdo aren't you Glasgow? Genuine question of interest, he's been here 10 weeks now. Surely he wont be using the translator forever? I learnt spanish in 3 weeks and that was just for fun, not because my job demanded.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Don't worry Gelsga, usual bullies at it again. Don't be sucked in by their trolling, your question was fair.

Tokyo-Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 School yard stuff, just rise above it. Back in subject, what do you think, first interview in English in the preseason?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 School yard stuff, just rise above it. Back in subject, what do you think, first interview in English in the preseason? Im sending him this........
skintsaint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 can we please keep this relevant to his reaction rather than if he can speak the lingo please as obviously he cannot 100%. cheers
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Ok.... So his assesment was spot on and we played brilliantly today so well done Tino and team Looking forward to MOTD for once :)
saint77 Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Im sending him this........ your a ducking dummy sunshine
sunrise Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Every time I see one of his interviews, it reminds me of this:
ART Posted 17 March, 2013 Posted 17 March, 2013 Surely Pochettino should be making some comments in English by now. He does speak English and should be putting in the same effort with his English as he demands of the players. At least with Bobby Robson he picked a decent and smart looking José Mourinho when he did interviews at Barcelona. Where's javi when you need him?
david in sweden Posted 17 March, 2013 Posted 17 March, 2013 Is he speaking English yet? .......would you prefer it if he learned Glaswegian first ? I doubt if anyone this side of the border would understand him any better, but his facial expressions say he understands questions quite well. I think his English skills (if somewhat limited) are much better than many people think...and the media can't " manipulate him" so well when they have to go through an interpreter...(thats good PR).
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 17 March, 2013 Posted 17 March, 2013 Although his refusal to overuse the 'P' word at every single opportunity compared to his predecessor is most welcome, you just have to conclude that his post-match musings offer much less entertainment value compared to NA's. But I don't really mind the manager being bland, as long as his team is entertaining.
John Boy Saint Posted 17 March, 2013 Posted 17 March, 2013 He speaks English, it's a convenient smokescreen to buy him time with the media. Post match on Solent the other week he was asked a question the interpreter started........er um Translating.... and he cut him short with a correction and then answered for the translator to reply.
Chez Posted 17 March, 2013 Posted 17 March, 2013 I learnt spanish in 3 weeks and that was just for fun, blimey that's impressive.
Greenridge Posted 17 March, 2013 Posted 17 March, 2013 Is he speaking English yet? He speaks the universal language of football.

Might have had second thoughts about his answer and modified it before the translator was finished.
John Boy Saint Posted 17 March, 2013 Posted 17 March, 2013 Might have had second thoughts about his answer and modified it before the translator was finished. You missed my point, the translator had just started translating the question. But Mo cut the translator short with the answer for the translator to give.
