  • Thank you very much, we played very well today
  • We have played well ever since I came here but not got the results we deserved
  • I am trying to instill my philosophy
  • Football is based on mentality, we need to learn some good lessons from this game
  • There were many positives today
  • Especially seeing how brave we were, going head-to-head and pushing forward
  • We did not allow Liverpool to have any given moment to play
  • Today we varied Jay and Rickie's positioning a little bit
  • We believe that our set-up today was the correct one
  • It is true, the set-up worked very well
  • We deserved a very good victory against Liverpool
  • Jose was unlucky not to play, as were the rest of the squad
  • It's a shame we can only pick eleven, we should be allowed to line up twenty-five
  • There's always a footballing argument in the sense of who I pick
  • Perhaps I'd not prefer a two-week break, but I have some internationals on the training ground
  • Perhaps I might need help at Staplewood, with the internationals all going

Pretty much to form of what we were told he'd be like when he arrived. Does not care much for stifling the opposition as long as we do our job based on the way we play. A few changes here and there but the base style of playing is the same home or away, against top or bottom teams. There is an undercurrent of controlled aggression with this where we are the protagonists in the match and that is a nice feeling.

A big few weeks coming up for the development and u18 squads - plenty of them will be training with the first team members not on international duty and some will be playing for contracts, some will be playing for promotion to the first team squad next season.

Interesting point actually would be good to see another of the fringe players break through onto the bench before the end of the season.

Surely Pochettino should be making some comments in English by now. He does speak English and should be putting in the same effort with his English as he demands of the players. At least with Bobby Robson he picked a decent and smart looking José Mourinho when he did interviews at Barcelona. Where's javi when you need him? :)

Is he speaking English yet?

.......would you prefer it if he learned Glaswegian first ? I doubt if anyone this side of the border would understand him any better, but his facial expressions say he understands questions quite well.

I think his English skills (if somewhat limited) are much better than many people think...and the media can't " manipulate him" so well when they have to go through an interpreter...(thats good PR).

He speaks English, it's a convenient smokescreen to buy him time with the media.

Post match on Solent the other week he was asked a question the interpreter started........er um Translating.... and he cut him short with a correction and then answered for the translator to reply.

Might have had second thoughts about his answer and modified it before the translator was finished.
