Bananaman Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 has anybody ever mentioned that we should have strengthened our defence in the Summer/Jan transfer window?
MOSaint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Liverpool goal was a let down given our overall dominance, worrying that Liverpool seem to have so much time when they do manage to get forward.
lloydie Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 shocker that coutinhio pops up, the li'l ripper. FFS. Come on saints, regroup at HT and come back out a bit more solid at the back and keep it to 3 attempts on goal for the rest of the match by liverpool.
dubai_phil Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Yup 20+ of us here saw that coming. Rofl @ all the Irish having their paddys day ruined
NewYorkSaint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 The quality and pace of our passing game in that half was just sensational. Commentators claiming Liverpool not playing well. Like Man U. And Man City. This is not a coincidence. Our pressing game is blitzkrieg supreme. And how about Ramirez? He's coming good. Lallana back too. Just love it. Score shd be 3-0. Pleease don't blow this second half, saints. want 2 more goals!
MOSaint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Also worrying that a lot of Liverpool's better attacking play came down our left side
obelisk Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Saints squandering good chances as usual. Not bad creating chances but the defence is all over the place.
Dalek2003 Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Looking at the table, we need this win, it is very close.
UpweySaint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 No panic just yet. Well worked goal for them, Sturridge did v well to hold up the ball in the middle. But we can score a third and see this out for me.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Its our destiny to lose today and **** it up, not bedwetting just an educated guess. hate to admit it, but I'm inclined to agree. saints are so frustrating. can look so good, but then have to throw in some comedy defending. let's just hope (/pray) it's more city than utd! please saints, let's f'ing have this.
lloydie Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Jay Rod's looking really lively this game, can see him nicking a goal he's been unlucky so far.
St Chalet Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 If QPR fail to win, and we held out we would be 7 points clear of the zone, if it goes to rat **** we could be 2. This for me is the biggest 45 minutes of our season.
Barry Sanchez Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Yep. Totally dominant but really sloppy at the back. Story of our season, we buy a centrebeck and play him at left right or in the middle all season, we also buy a centreback but he cant play football as no one has seen him since signing, crap in all honesty.
jasonb Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 This Forren fella better be the new John Terry coz I think we're one commanding center back short of a good team! Great first half from the boys... settled them down now Poncho and lets go at them again. Shaw is making Glenn Johnson look a bit old!!
Barry Sanchez Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 If QPR fail to win, and we held out we would be 7 points clear of the zone, if it goes to rat **** we could be 2. This for me is the biggest 45 minutes of our season. Wholeheartedly agree, I hope Pochettino gets this message through in Spanish or broken English........................
CumbrianSaint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 That has to be one of the best 45 minutes a Saints team has ever played to be honest, that was a total footballing lesson. How lucky we are to watch such beautiful football.
Ohio Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Another game where we are playing well, winning.................But. I really do need to buy some brown underwear to hide my emotional responses.
Ohio Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 That has to be one of the best 45 minutes a Saints team has ever played to be honest, that was a total footballing lesson. How lucky we are to watch such beautiful football. This is true. If we get relegated it will be an anomaly
JoeShmoe Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Big 45 coming up here, lose this and its a big dent of confidence, Liverpool cant be any worse this half and they have the quality players to score out of nowhere
Dalek2003 Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 If QPR fail to win, and we held out we would be 7 points clear of the zone, if it goes to rat **** we could be 2. This for me is the biggest 45 minutes of our season. Bang on. This could be a season defining half. Hope we get the win and a QPR-Villa draw would be perfect.
Dalek2003 Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Ok, here we go doom or gloom, **** or bust, the promised land or **** row !
Dr Who? Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 I hope the players have a little more faith than us. I am going for 3-3
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 For fook sake you miserable to55ers, we're beating Liverpool !!!!
Barry Sanchez Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 has anybody ever mentioned that we should have strengthened our defence in the Summer/Jan transfer window? Maybe on here but in the boardroom its a tabboo subject akin to mentioning comfort women to a Korean or a denying Japanese war veteran..................
Ohio Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 For fook sake you miserable to55ers, we're beating Liverpool !!!! We are jusy nervous, that's all
M271 Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Story of a lot of our season, play well early and dominate get 1 or 2 goals up then let the opposition back in it. There must be something in the way that we play that gives the opposition hope and not roll over. I expect this to follow the normal script and more points conceded from a winning position.
Sheaf Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 For fook sake you miserable to55ers, we're beating Liverpool !!!! Yeah... and we were beating Man U - twice, and beating Newcastle, and many others. Need I go on?
BotleySaint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Blown it, IMO. I hope you are wrong. But I think we've been playing like this for a while now, and you may be right. We have not always got what our performances deserved. But it's about scoring goals... !
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 watching saints should come with a health warning. not for those with heart problems. it's doing mine an absolute mischief.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Author Posted 16 March, 2013 Last time we let a 2 goal lead slip?
Sheaf Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Good opportunity there - wasted by delaying and a poor final ball.
Ohio Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 I'm switching to bedwetter mode. We can lose this.
Sheaf Saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Looking a lot more nervy than we did in the first half. Davis on for Gaston - good sub IMO.
sussexsaint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Christ, my heart is beating out of my chest and we've still got 35 minutes left
latter day saint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 phew ! simple ball over the top did us there
pangy Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Sooner or later we will be caught with that ball over the top and be punished !!
Chewy Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 We could have scored 5! Really demoralising to concede right before half time... Again! Here's hoping we can score another. 12 shots to Liverpool's 3... Story of our season, we buy a centrebeck and play him at left right or in the middle all season, we also buy a centreback but he cant play football as no one has seen him since signing, crap in all honesty. That has to be one of the best 45 minutes a Saints team has ever played to be honest, that was a total footballing lesson. How lucky we are to watch such beautiful football. Half full or half empty?
sussexsaint Posted 16 March, 2013 Posted 16 March, 2013 Half full or half empty? It was a masterful first half from us
