Did anyone see the shooting star last night that was akin to the one over Russia (sort of!)? about 9pm.

Was with a group of mates watching a Hants cup final in Hamble and saw it towards the end of the game, no kidding, it was a bright as a firework.

And no, it wasn't a firework as the trajectory was all wrong, and I know what a shooting star looks like.

Anyone else see it. was very impressive.

I have been an astrophotographer for a few years now and most nights if you spend long enough looking up you will see meteors and occasionally a much much brighter one called a fireball will light up the sky, always fantastic to watch

I saw one in France once. It was largish, and I saw it split onto two. A few seconds later there was a loud crack. It was pretty awesome, but I wish I knew it was coming so I knew what I was seeing before I saw it.
