Chaplow at Wembley with Millwall, Reeves there with Southend, did Dickson play there with Bradford? Done well out of their loan moves.

Dickson got injured the week before the final. Out for the season I think.

So thats Lee and Chaplow of late who have had spells on the bench and then have been farmed out on loan.

Hope we dont get many injuries, bench will look a bit desperate if we do.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Isgrove on the bench.

We now have Lallana and Gaston back to fitness, J-Rod improving and worthy of his place in the XI, Puncheon should be starting at the moment, Mayuka not even getting on the bench for whatever reason. In CM we have Cork, Morgan, Davis, JWP.

MP has clearly been given the challenge to bring the youth through IMO hence us getting rid of fringe players getting in their way (IMO)

WHAT?! He's what we've been missing - he runs around a lot. Without him and Lee running around a lot, we're going to struggle.

As opposed to Guly, who doesn't run around at all, you mean?!

Up there with Billy Sharps loan move to Forest. Without his poaching, Lee's running and now Chaplows bite we will probably get relegated when we should be 10th by now.

badly need to have a striker on the bench IMO. On Saturday Jay Rod was absolutely out on his feet and there was no natural replacement. We have lots of options for the in the hole role, but very few running beyond Ricky. Mayuka must be performing pretty poorly in training to not make the bench unless he's injured of course?

I reckon he must have a knock, no-way would he not even make the bench if fully fit. Having said that, he never gets a run out anyway, so would it make much difference either way?

I don't understand what relevance that has to do with my original point that Chaplow and Lee are sh*t.

****? No good enough maybe, but ****? Chaplow did a great job for us last season helping us to promotion. No idea why players like him are are spoken of in that way on here.

He's got a reverse Guly do Prado contract. He's not allowed to play 15 minutes or more in 85% of games.

good point. How bad was he up at Leeds? Since that game he has been given the cold shoulder

He had about 6 games where he played well. The rest was fairly average or sub appearances. He served a purpose but let's not get carried away, a good footballer he is not.

He was pretty poor up at Leeds, but since then has started against Sunderland I think. Hardly had a kick since then though?

Looked decent when he came on against Villa but didn't particularly stand out against Sunderland. Still slightly surprised he hasn't been given another chance since.

The Spurs game was his best performance, but since that Sunderland game he's not been invloved at all, even when we're chasing games. Weird signing really.

Like I said at Norwich, I reckon we've just taken a gamble on him. Top scorer at the ACON, scored fairly frequentally at a decent level in Switzerland and could be picked up for £3m. Sounds good on paper so I reckon we just chanced our luck on it. Could've gone one way or the other, either the next Eto'o or the next Ali Dia.

it's not his quality I'm debating, it's your use of the term **** to describe a player that did a very good job for your football team.

I disagree about the 6 games. He had a decent season full stop. Even on instant return from a nasty injury at Palace he was outstanding. Our best player that day. The interceptions and off the ball runs helped us no end last year. You need runners as well as ball players. He played an important role. He certainly lacks the ball control and passing ability needed at the Premiership level, he's a woeful passer in fact, but this is a guy that helped us go up.

Well said.. wish him all the best at Millwall. Hope he does well.

good decision for all involved. Chaplow will get games ....and perhaps even a run-out at Wembley.

A good showing will do him no harm at all, because he's hardly likely to get further than an occasional bench place at SMS.

If Millwall (or anyone else) decide to buy him ...we'll get more than the (reputed) 50K we paid for him when he left Preston.

Bloody marvelous player for us.

hope we get him back for our promotion push next season.

contributed more than The like of Ramirez will ever do.

...but who is going to add the bite to our midfield? Can we recall Deano?

In all seriousness, good move for him. He was absolutely excellent last season before his injury vs Bristol City, possibly our player of the season up until then.

We can recall them IF needed.

I spoke to him briefly last week and he loves it here but wants to play. This seems like a good move for him and I wish him well.

Yep I prefer footballers that want to play. He might be back on a Saints shirt next season, but I hope not as it means we will be in the championship.

Still think we should have kept him for cover, Schneiderlin is a booking away from suspension

no he isn't, he would need to get booked in the next 3 games to get suspended

7 bookings so far and it's 10 before Sunday 8th April ie 3 games away.

I think if Morgan were to be suspended, Davis or JWP would get the nod ahead of Chaplow.

This is a good loan move for Chaplow though. It's a shame somebody with his commitment couldn't make it at this level with us, but he's never really done it in the Prem before so it's no surprise. Top-end Championship is about his level, IMO.
