So IF Chelsea beat Steaua, whose games do you think the FA will change? Ours and Sunderlands vs ManU or the Manchester derby the week after? We've already had the game postponed due to one Mickey Mouse competition!

Different game. That was the away match due in December.

ah ha, yes! It get's too confusing with all the moves for other competitions and TV.

At least the move from Saturday to Sunday 4pm allows me to get off my plane and to the game. I had planned it that way without the wife knowing. Anyway, worth a heads up in case others have plans.

They can feck right off.

I've only got 2 completely work free weekends in 10 weeks, one of them is the blank weekend due to Internationals or whatever and this one.

I've already missed a few games due to them being moved for TV or Europa Cup matches.

Just send their reserves, they'll still be a team full of international players.

This. If you want to go prancing around Europe you have to have the squad to back it up. I don't give a toss is Juan Mata is a little bit peaky because of the airline food.

Is that a definite 16-00 ? My phone (fixture box) has it down as 17-00 start (it is Easter Sunday if that affects anything, BH next day and all that).

on one hand if game is postponed then it gives us extra week off after International break to prepare for Reading game which is massive. Also when we play chelsea they will be in middle of fixture pile up which in theory could work in our favour. on the other hand we are usually crap after a fixture break, we struggle to raise tempo and look rusty which would be bad news given our A game is all about high intensity pressing.

I hope so. Moving the game to Sunday means I shall miss it. :(

Leaving it on Sunday means I can watch it down the beach!!

I'll hold judgement till I see what the alternative date is.

Anyway screw Chelsea, we had to play something like 4 games in 8 days at the end of our promotion from L1 FFS

I think the record shows we generally do worse after a week off.

One option would be to scramble to postpone this weekend's televised Premier League matches at short notice to clear the way for the replay but that is viewed as impractical.

Alternatively, matches on Easter weekend – United visit Sunderland while Chelsea head to Southampton, both for TV fixtures – could be deferred, or those on the following weekend, which would include the Manchester derby.

Such a move may be resisted by broadcasters, who will have a major say in the deliberations, and also risks storing up the problem for later in the season by displacing more fixtures from the schedule.

The most likely scenario is that Chelsea could be forced to play the replay on a Monday or Tuesday before playing a European game on the Thursday. But that may be opposed by Rafael Benítez, their interim manager, and would also require the approval of the Metropolitan police because Fulham have a home match against Queens Park Rangers on Easter Monday, 1 April.

Ah didums a fixture pile up breaks your bloody heart. How come football has gone soft

When we got to the League cup final we were still in the FA cup and a right pickle of a fixture pile up we asked Arsenal to move our 5th round cup tie from the Tuesday to Wednesday: Arsenal told us where to go.

Thankfully the God of Football is involved who has already moved the game, and if I understand the explanation of the TV rules correctly only an act of the highest God can see the game moved again. (but then being 2 of the most importantest teams in English football anything is possible!)!

Who gives a f*ck if it's opposed by Benitez?
