Ramirez was very good on Saturday, especially first half before it became a mudbath - I would definitely start him over Davis.

I can see the merits of starting either one of them. To be honest, it's difficult to pick our whole best 11 at the moment. I don't envy Maurice.

I know Ramirez scored V QPR, but those two passes he messed up in the second half one right after the other were shocking and I think Davis would have had the experience to know they should have been played over the top rather than along the ground. Had either of those gone through, Puncheon or Rodriguez respectively would have been 1 on 1 with the keeper to make it 2-1 to us.

We're due a thumping and this could be the day, 1-5 here we come. Just don't boo our lads after the game reserve that for the man upstairs.

Bit harsh, as bad as the team is doing right now I can't see them conceding 5 at Swansea.

Cortese Out!

Oh, right, you're still pulling that act.

Don´t remember the specific passes but against QPR there was hardly any space to put the balls over the defenders and getting it to attackers.

But as I say, I dont know what sepcific passes you are referring to so I might be wrong.

My point is just that QPR had their defensive line so low that the best choice usually is to try through passes on the ground...

It was literally just before he was subbed, we were on the counter attack. The defenders were about 25 yards out with Ramirez 30 yards and between them, with the other two players running wide. Tried to pass to Puncheon, intercepted and came back to him, tried the same to Rodriguez, intercepted and cleared.

Wihout out him we wouldn't have scored in the first place, and I don't mean the fact he was the one that put the ball in the net.

Pretty much every attack in the first half was down to him creating some space in the middle of the park that then knocked on to creating some space around the box. He's very important becuase he's one of the few players that can turn our sidways keep ball passes into somehting more meaningful, Morgan and Cork just don't have the same abilities.

This - first half at Norwich he was the best player on the pitch.

Has to start, especially at home.

Agree. And he is often in very good positions between opponents CB and CM but our other players aren´t able to pick him out with the through pass. If they will start do that he will be in the areas with the ball where he is really going to be a danger for the opponents.

Yep, he's got a decent shot on him as well from 25 yards. Lets just hope he's been working on his corners this week in training! If he can hit the right spot then his delivery could be world class the way he gets whip and bend on the ball, but he's not getting it past the first man too often at the moment.

At last, somebody else thinks the way I have been about Gaston.

Give the Norwich highlights on SaintsPlayer a viewing, and just about every good move we had involved him.

Still far off being worth 12 million, but he is a class act but still getting to grips with English style footie and I don't think he has been fully fit in some games.

Would like to see Lambert on the bench with JRod up front and a front three of Lallana, Ramirez and Puncheon. Bring on Lambert for Ramirez at 75mins to shore up lead or push for equaliser etc. Simples.

Would like to see u do one.

i have previously observed his inswingers is useful and his outswingers is butters. he only seemed to be taking outswingers at norwich for some reason!

Under Adkins we always took inswingers from both sides but now its switched to outswingers.

The player taking doesn't decide.

Brilliant!

What has Lambert done lately to warrant his place? we're not scoring enough and he has to shoulder his portion of the blame!

He doesn't deserve to be dropped in a million years.

Played well at Norwich, was poor against QPR, but nearly everyone was.

We need goals, so you suggest we drop our top goalscorer?

Don't recall suggesting we drop him. just saying we need to score goals

By just about every Opta Stat let alone our own opinions.

In fact according to Opta he is the best CM in EUROPE let alone with us

You talk to fans of other clubs and most of them have lambert as best Morgan second.

Genuinely don't think he'd look out of place in any team in any league in the world.

Genuinely think he is prime candidate for our Player of the Season as well.

SRL needs a few goals in the run in to pip Boruc for 2nd as well IF the madman keeps improving

Can't look further than Lambert myself. Top of the goals scored charts with 12 (almost 1 goal every 2 starts, a very good stat in the top league for any striker). Top of the assists chart with 8, meaning he's either scored or set up over half our goals. A real class act, goodness knows how he'd never even played Championship football before us, let alone top flight.

Morgan and jack Cork have been brilliant for us this season, but Rickie shades it for me, I think he's superb.

Saying that, I hope he gets his head in gear for Saturday's game as he was woeful in the reverse fixture. Put it down to nerves playing at his idol of a ground.

Simple case of goals though. Even a mediocre striker (which Lambert isn't) would get more recognition than a ball winning central midfielder from someone who only watches the odd game of any club. Morgan is the best performer for Saints in pretty much every game and has found a new gear this season. Lambert has been superb too. There is no question for me as to whether we play Lambert every week as he's the goal man. I don't trust any other forward at the club to score more than 7 or 8 prem goals all season even if starting every game up top.

ironic that a poster with the username of a Saints footballing legend should spout such utter sh!t about the game, don't you think?
