Glasgow_Saint Posted 9 March, 2013 Share Posted 9 March, 2013 So you honestly don't think that Saints outplayed Norwich ?? We didnt outplay them, we had alot of the ball but in ineffective areas. Norwich missed a pen, should have had another and without two last ditch blocks from yoshi we could have lost this one 4-0. Sure we had chances, but Norwich had the clearer and having possesion doesnt mean anything, we learnt that again today.

We also had more shot on/off as well as more possession in their half And IMO we had more clear cut chances as well First one a pen fair enough Second no chance he goes down like a the sack of shight he is Why did they not show our pen shout? Saint Garrett Posted 9 March, 2013 Share Posted 9 March, 2013 Not a penalty but the first one was so it evens out, greatbsave by Boruc and he saved us a point, Ramirez truly is a waste of £12million. We created very little once Gaston went off. Was our best player for about 55 mins today. Glasgow_Saint Posted 9 March, 2013 Share Posted 9 March, 2013 We created very little once Gaston went off. Agree with this...... substitutions were very poor again today. Bought on Guly and JWP and gave up on the 3 points. Norwich sniffed our fear, bought on a fresh striker & looked far far more likely in the last 10/15. Think we bottled it today, when 3 points were needed and there for the taking.

maysie Posted 9 March, 2013 Share Posted 9 March, 2013 Lacked cutting edge in front of goal again. It's worrying - but I'd be more concerned if we weren't creating chances. Any clean sheet away from home in the prem is a good one in my book. Oh and there is a lot of hysteria on this thread, from the usual suspects, swear they can't really enjoy football. Bet they're the kind of people who write to their MP when they've have to queue for the post office.
S-Clarke Posted 9 March, 2013 Share Posted 9 March, 2013 Think we should have had JP on alot sooner Gaston had run out of steam so can see why he came off I think his last appearance went against him somewhat! (He was pretty forgettable against QPR). Looking back on it, I don't think there was a great deal wrong with our attack - albeit it was a little too static at times, we're just incredibly blunt when it matters at the moment. Lallana needs to learn how to shoot.

Berkshire Saint Posted 9 March, 2013 Share Posted 9 March, 2013 Poor game, not helped by the conditions. Thought we were better the side but didn't create a massive amount but having seen the MOTD highlights we really should have taken at least one of our chances (that Lallana miss was shocking). Norwich are utter ****e though and to only get two draws off them isn't great, proper Stoke-style anti-football, amazing they're so far clear of the bottom 3. SuperMikey Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 Just back from the game, appalling weather! sandwichsaint Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 Decent battling point, 0-0 looked about right from what I saw. Ramirez looked good for 45 minutes (call me old-fashioned but I expect a marquee signing to be able to play 90 minutes). Clattenberg awful, got both penalties wrong (PMSL the lino gives nothing for the one that was given, ref goes over to discuss it and comes back with a penalty, how does that work?) Luke Shaw's running on empty? He's made mistakes in his last three games that he didn't make at all in his first 10. Shocking miss from AL, and JRod is struggling to convert very presentable chances, they mocked when I said we should buy a striker in the window. Would have cost a bit but a 10 goal man would have guaranteed our survival from where we were then. Who is going to score the goals to keep us up? COYRS! ps Well done Boruc! The most professional player in the team, always one step ahead of the game (loved Fonte's reaction to the penalty save).

pingwing Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 So are we all in agreement, we should have walked away with 3 points but through a mix of terrible officiating and almighty goal keeping we walked away with a 0-0... Good as everyone would be wrist slitting if we lost that. Also universal agreement we had plenty of good chances but had exactly no composure to finish them off, they had a few but were out done by being a. crap and b. out foxed by some good defending (mainly from yoshida forced into RB where he couldn't display his positive attributes). Finally Holt fattest lump in the premier league!
Professor Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 Should of won. Nearly lost. Disagree completely. It's "Should Have". The word 'of' is not a verb so you cannot 'of' something and we could not 'of' won or lost.
Roger Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 Changed my mind, never a penalty, not that it mattered anyway. Lallana and Lambert both missed chances that have to be put away at this level. Good performances alone are not enough, we have to make our dominance count. Hopefully none of the teams below us will win any of their next couple of games. Sheaf Saint Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 They missed a penalty And aside from that, what else did Boruc have to do all game? They had 3 shots on goal to our 15. Compared to Ramirez's attempted chip that was well saved, Lallana's golden opportunity that he really should have hit on target, and Jay-Rod's clear opportunity that he hit tamely at the keeper towards the end. Apart from the penalty, Norwich never once got themselves into what could be described as a clear goalscoring opportunity. We did on numerous occasions, but failed to take the chances. To claim that Norwich had 'better' chances is either blind stupidity or just plain trolling. Given your track record, I think I know which I'm inclined to go with. Boruc was beaten twice but yoshi managed to scramble clear last second + the norwich free kick that boruc saved + missed penalty + Holt being an inch from a tap in (held back by Shaw) Watch the full 90 again like i did and you will see, dont confuse the number of chances vs the clearest chances
OldNick Posted 10 March, 2013 Share Posted 10 March, 2013 Agreed. Bizarre choices today too; Clyne and Puncheon fit enough for the bench but not a run out. Lallana poor throughout but no change, Ramirez should have been taken off far earlier, he's just a wet fanny and a football pitch is no place for a wet fanny (as he's amply demonstrated on more than one occasion this season). Yoshida isnt a right back, and bringing on Guly and JWP towards the end spoke volumes for me. Dominated posession quite well and thank God for the holy goalie, he got Luke Shaw out of jail; not sure what all the remonstrations were about, it was a foul.i find it interesting that you say Yoshidas is not a right back, well he did prevent 2certain goals. I've not seen him take a decent one yet. Seems to be allergic to beating the first man. Overall though, I thought it was one of his better away days yesterday.
