Saint-Armstrong Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Late Boruc penalty stop earns Saints a point. Thoughts?
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Should have won but could have easily lost at the end with that penalty. Well done Boruc, brilliant save. Has to be a point gained now.
RobM Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 A valuable point. But my god we're crap up front. Loads of chances on goal, many shots on target, yet we just can't shoot. At risk of being lynched, Lambert had yet another distinctly average game and didn't offer a huge amount. JRod had plenty of chances but kept shooting at the 'keeper. We were on top for most of the game, but we just cannot score. We have had this problem for too long. But still, overall, a valuable point.
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 A precious point.. But we need a win soon!!
Dimond Geezer Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 F eck me. I'll take that point. Has Artur been having penalty saving lessons from Kelvin?
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Sky saying it was the linesman's call, I think.
Norm Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 How the hell did we not beat a very poor Norwich? As for the ref, he was ****e for both sides. Was it 20 attempts on goal?
Roger Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Thought we were useless upfront. Lallana isn't the player people make him out to be. Powder puff. Why wasn't puncheon playing?
S-Clarke Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Late drama, but that last kick just summed up the game as a whole really. Complete dross, lack of any quality from either side. Only quality came from the GK's! We've gone backwards in terms of an attacking threat. We are so blunt now.
Ampersound Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Thanks fk for that. Happy with a point after that pen
Super_Saint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Regardless, it's still 2 points lost in my eyes. But the positive side is that we're still 3 points clear with a superior goal difference, fancy us to snatch something against Liverpool.
Sheaf Saint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Wow - what a nailbiting finish. I'll take that though - point away at a half-decent team in awful conditions. Could have won it if not for some better finishing - Lallana the most guilty.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Lallana, Ramirez and Lambert going backwards last few games 1 win in 7 now for Tino....... Not good enough. norwich were poor today we needed to take advantage
Wade Garrett Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 We have to be more clinical in front of goal. Boruc got Shaw out of jail.
scotty Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Clattenburg is an utter c*nt. That was an appalling decision. Hats off to Boruc, tho.
110_Persaint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 A very unexpected and welcome point in a dour, dour game.
Window Cleaner Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Played well, dominated, couldn't score, story of our season really.
John Boy Saint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Pochettino obviously has enough English to give Mark Battenburg a piece of his mind at the inal whitle looking at Sky
Saint Without a Halo Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 two points lost could have been three but for Boruc! wins by Villa and QPR mean we are now really scrapping!
redkeith Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Plaed pretty well , shold hav taken one of the rebounds. The stream wen't down in the last 10 so will have to reserve judgement on the Rodriguez chance at the end. Pleased for Boruc. Good point, 4 clear, now lets get something from the 2 home games.
Sheaf Saint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Played well, dominated, couldn't score, story of our season really. Sadly true.
JoeShmoe Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 I was all for giving MP a chance but we really are going backwards from where we were under NA, the last two performances have been dire
Glasgow_Saint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Our negative subs in the last 10 very nearly cost us. Invited pressure when we were on top. Villa win, QPR win. Gap closes
ThreeSixty Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Never a pen. Norwich are ****ing crap. Played like the away team the whole game.
S-Clarke Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Played well, dominated, couldn't score, story of our season really. We've never really had a problem scoring over the course of the season, we're starting to look worryingly ineffective though. Deep deep in the mire when we should be pulling away. Decision isn't being justified.
pingwing Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 20 chances and should have scored one, Holt should have had a second yellow for being rubbish, Clattenburg only person worse than Norwich on the pitch. Boric out and out MOTM for some competent catches in their half chances and that pen save that has stopped every saints fan going to Clattenburg's house and taking a dump in his letter box/set fire to his house.
Ohio Saint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 A decent point..............I had a lot of thoughts about the game, and then we had that penalty thingy. Well done Boruc, in the end, it was the hinge of the whole match
CanadaSaint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 That game was there for the winning. I thought Pardew and Adkins made some bizarre substitutions but this guy is on another planet.
doubleonothing Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Should have won that today. Great save at the end from Boruc with the penalty. The pitch was awful which didn't help, but not an excuse. Time to crack open the rum
MAY-Z Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 A valuable point. When the shots at goal diagram was displayed all 7 of our shots were straight at the centre of the goal
stknowle Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 FFS that was EXCRUCIATING! I may have topped myself if the penalty had gone in. Why can't we put chances away? Why? Why? Someone explain please.
Jonnyboy Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Late Boruc penalty stop earns Saints a point. Thoughts? I need a drink.
pangy Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 A point really was not good enough QPR and Villa won and with Chelsea and Liverpool next the pessimist in me says nothing from those games.never mind the we beat City line, ever since that game we have not even looked like winning.even against Norwich
JoeShmoe Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 We've never really had a problem scoring over the course of the season, we're starting to look worryingly ineffective though. Deep deep in the mire when we should be pulling away. Decision isn't being justified. As always spot on the money Clarkey
View From The Top Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 I still think we will go down but it will be close to the final whistle on the last day.
Bearsy Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 massive dive for the penalty. I reckon bout the first bit of luck ponch has had since he got here was halfa bolllocks save!
UpweySaint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Im not going to start crying about it but feel like we've taken a step back lately. All good play but not able to grind out results. Yoshida made a couple of v good interceptions but is v clearly not a rb, Richardson must be dross in training not to get the nod. Lambert cut a frustrated figure. Ramirez had a decent first half but really faded. Al is finding a few good postions but doenst look sharp enough. Needs a goal to get the confidence going imo. Jay Rod really looking v good last few games, shame he wasnt just a touch more clinical today or it was a different story. The lack of Puncheon till the 90 left me mystified. Shaw again showed real promise just needs to keep maturing, didnt need to make that challenge but going forward was v good and made a few good challenges especially in the first half.
WealdSaint Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Glad to get a point at the end. Boruc is my hero. Not sure what was worse the ref or the weather. Last few games we just hav'nt looked like we are going to score, despite having loads of possesion. I'm looking forward to seeing he Liverpool match next week, where we will need to get some points. Thought JRod had another cracking game.
Wiggles31 Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Wasteful of chances but hardly blunted. Creating more under MP but we haven't been clinical. Another day we could have won 0-4. Huge point, celebrated Boruc's save like a goal!!
martin_au Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 condition of pitch apparently restricted movements from both sides, norwich were happy to sit back just as newcastle and QPR did... that said, we are still ****e up front
Window Cleaner Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Plaed pretty well , shold hav taken one of the rebounds. The stream wen't down in the last 10 so will have to reserve judgement on the Rodriguez chance at the end. Pleased for Boruc. Good point, 4 clear, now lets get something from the 2 home games. 4 virtually 5 because there are some right shight GDs below us. Sunderland dropping as well.
The Kraken Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Glad to get a point at the end. Boruc is my hero. Not sure what was worse the ref or the weather. Last few games we just hav'nt looked like we are going to score, despite having loads of possesion. I'm looking forward to seeing he Liverpool match next week, where we will need to get some points. Thought JRod had another cracking game. Really? I thought he blunted our attack and offered very little throughout.
Barry Sanchez Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 We are where we are because we deserve to be, down the bottom as we dont have good enough players, the question is why when smaller clubs without our supposed money not only survive but also flourish and also pick up silverware as well.
Mr X Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 Looked totally lost upfront despite numerous chances straight at their keeper every time, can't help feeling we'd be no worse off under Adkins we are certainly no better
SaintRobbie Posted 9 March, 2013 Posted 9 March, 2013 phew Yep... phew. But we deserved to win. Bad day for results around us. We needed 3 points today. Liverpool and Chelsea to come. 1 point out of a possible 9 IMHO and I can't see us contending for another point for two more games. Not looking good for MP. Not looking good at all. Still at least we have Nigel Adkins on the payroll still for the Championship if it goes wrong!
