redkeith Posted 6 March, 2013 Share Posted 6 March, 2013 Was anyone else watching Man U last night reminded of a certain Oscar Gobbern ? Nani's attempted interception was good, although it lacked drama of Gobberns Kung-Fu at Bournemouth. Oscar managed to travel some yards in mid air seemingly in slow motion as he attempted pull his front foot out of the tackle. Nani went for the more instant mid air leap, six studs in the stomach. I think Oscar deserves more credit, and just like the 'Cruyff turn' , any future marshall arts should be known as 'The Gobbern'.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 6 March, 2013 Share Posted 6 March, 2013 I think Oscar would prefer it to be known as 'The Gobern'.

david in sweden Posted 6 March, 2013 Share Posted 6 March, 2013 (edited) well you did start it .....there are very few times each decade, when I'd like Man. U to win, but last night was one of them.. Yes of course, Nani actions' may have infracted the rules but having watched the numerous after match replays, it must be fair to say that in watching the falling ball that he stretched for .. I'm not even sure that Nani knew the player approaching him, still it's all done and dusted now, but I think the Real guy made a meal of his " fall " and it looked like he was dead, but really what sort of an " injured" player would roll over and over and over....on an injury?....only a well-trained Latin one, who wanted to get his opponent into trouble. As we've seen MANY times in the past, referees in different countries apply different interpretations to different situations. It wouldn't have been a red card in the Prem...a yellow, maybe. If you follow that same logic, you'd disallow all bicycle kicks in the area...and red-card anyone doing them...... as they are undoubtedly classifiable as dangerous play.
