Villa Vs City

No one has gone. Will be a long and winding road to follow through till the end of the season.

Wigan, Villa, Reading, QPR and ourselves are the 5 in it. I can't see it stretching above, as Newcastle and Sunderland have enough about them - and the other sides only need 1 or 2 more wins in reality. Our next few games will ensure we're well entrenched in it for a while longer.

Despite if they nick a draw they're out the bottom 3? And QPR safe despite being bottom?!?

Don't get your logic...

I meant Villa, QPR and the third between the remaining three.

This is based on performances. Every time I've seen Villa this season they've been dire.

word. They're the only team in Premier League where Fox & Richardson would be upgrade at full-back.

They've got some decent forward players tho. Midfield is garbage.

I scored my first ever hundred against Curdridge, I can confirm they are more garbage than Danny Fox.

Dunno. Bennett is ****e. Very of signing by villa.

Technically he is pretty sharp though, which may have been why they were struck by him. If I'm honest, the weak area's of his game are something which will get better with experience. I think he's technically pretty sound, will probably develop into more of a left midfielder though.

Usually spot on Baz? Don't know about that, I just have to type D and my iPhone is already guessing I'm about to say 'dumb bear', iPhones aren't often wrong either. Bill Gates knows what he's doin.

Good one, i see what you did there!!

In normal play, player kicks ball to goal keeper and attacker is offside. Player does nothing, goalkeeper kicks ball to player, he scores and goal is given. If the ref sees touch from keeper, has to give it?

Thinking it through, no different to keeper palming it out to active player who is offside.

Finished 1-0 to City, who were complete dross it has to be said. Villa played well, but didn't create any meaningful chances over the entire 90 mins.

Very fortunate with all the results this weekend, if only we'd have picked something up in our game and things would look so much different.

As the games go on, and the teams down there are remaining on 20-24 points, you do start to wonder if we'll get an all time low points total required to stay up this year.

Can relate to that, just debated the offside rule with myself!

Danny Higginbottom had one chalked off where the goalie had fumbled he poked it in but despite there being a player on the line it was ruled as offside because there was only one out field player on the line if there had been 2 the goal would have stood, it's one of those subsection F iii vagaries of the offside rule that normally gets lost in the hubbub of the game, but that day the Lino had just returned from a rules refresher course and ruled it out!

Technically, because the goalkeeper touched the ball, can Dzecho be offside?

Oh, yes. Law 11:

• “gaining an advantage by being in that position” means playing a ball that rebounds to him off a goalpost or the crossbar having been in an offside position or playing a ball that rebounds to him off an opponent having been in an offside position

I don't know why the media are surprised when City play sh1t. They've been playing sh1t ever since Mancini took over, with the exception of maybe 5 performances. Every other time they've relied on individual brilliance to drag them out of the brown mucky stuff, time and again. A half decent manager would have them much closer to United and probably wouldn't have bought such average rubbish like Rodwell - who is, at best, a mediocre midfielder (for mediocre, also see; Shelvey, Livermore, Henderson, Cleverley etc).

I'd wager that even someone like Paul Lambert, Steve McClaren or Alex McLeish would have City much, much closer. Mancini will be found out if he has to actually coach and organise his next side, not just pick eleven players and hope for the best.

Irrespective, cheers for the win tonight, City!

McCleish, surely he is the wrist manager to grace England.

That said I do agree that Mancini is not the man. I mean I could win the league with that squad.

He's not great, but he'll always finish 1st or 2nd in a two-horse race.

Mancini would finish third.
