Colinjb Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Not a bad part of the body for a footballer to have skill to be honest... Well, yes!
Tokyo-Saint Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Under 21s look better than the first team. Put cork and Morgan in this team and play them against Norwich.
trousers Posted 4 March, 2013 Author Posted 4 March, 2013 You mean Mark Wright, our former skipper. Has been very complimentsry so far. Ah, didn't realise it was Wright...only just tuned in - cheers
Patrick Bateman Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Some of these players have really come on this season, really impressed! Rowe and Seidi especially. Targett is good and I really like Turnbull who has lost his place to Forren. Forren looks very good tonight as I said.
stevegrant Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Forren looks good with the ball at his feet but he got completely done by a simple threaded through ball just before he scored, looked like he was running through treacle but fortunately the striker missed the one-on-one. Should fit right in with the first team back 4...
Saint86 Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 They are doing a good job, its on Sky sports under liverpool TV if anyone fancies a better quality image. Free to watch with sky sports. They are saying that Shaw Mk. II "looks a player2 Have to say that Rowe, seidi, JWP and chambers look the part. Forren clearly a step above this lot but that is expected. JojJo Shelvey is non existent.... doesn't he have an england cap? If so what a joke.
trousers Posted 4 March, 2013 Author Posted 4 March, 2013 Another great set piece ball into the box from Rowe
Edmonton Saint Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Rowe is looking dangerous... Would be a handy impact sub for the first team.
Andre Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Rowe is absolute class. Impressed with Forren so far too, although he'll get nowhere near this many chances in the PL.
trousers Posted 4 March, 2013 Author Posted 4 March, 2013 Rowe is looking dangerous... Would be a handy impact sub for the first team. Agree. Would I be getting ahead of myself by comparing him to Oxlade-Chamberlain?
Saint Garrett Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Rowe looks handy. Better than de ridder. Worthy of a place on the bench I reckon.
stevegrant Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Rowe looks handy. Better than de ridder. Worthy of a place on the bench I reckon. Damned with faint praise
trousers Posted 4 March, 2013 Author Posted 4 March, 2013 Why did we break forward so slowly then? Had about 4 on 3?
trousers Posted 4 March, 2013 Author Posted 4 March, 2013 Anyone know if Pochettino is there tonight?
Olallana Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Agree. Would I be getting ahead of myself by comparing him to Oxlade-Chamberlain? For me a bit more Nathan Dyer-ish, but with better delivering....
captainchris Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Can we have that Rowe guy taking our corners...? Can't understand why Rowe isn't in the first team - he 'has good delivery after all' !!!!!!!!!
Bearsy Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 doesn't exactly look like athlete forren. I think he used to sell me oranges at walthamstow market.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Rowe looks damn good and Roy Evans giving him a lot of praise
Bearsy Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 he was quick enough making change at walthamstow market
Saint Garrett Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Think he's looked alright. Don't think he's particularly looking slow...
Saint Without a Halo Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Liverpool playing like our first team lots of nice passing but little bite!
Saint Matty 76 Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Anyone seen what Cody Cropper did after conceding for the USA U20's the other day?
Doctoroncall Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Forren looks very slow As long as he doesn't ball watch and is quick in thought, he'll be an improvement.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Lots of Liverpool possession but we are having the better chances so far
John Boy Saint Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Anyone seen what Cody Cropper did after conceding for the USA U20's the other day? Surely he was first in the shower for that?!
Saint Garrett Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 1-1 crap defending. Free header from a Shelvey cross.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Under 21s seem to move the ball quicker than the first team, good tempo about them.
Saint Garrett Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Break very quickly. They have pace. There isn't much pace in the first 11. Rowe, Sinclair and Siedi are all pretty rapid
DanW Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Surely he was first in the shower for that?! It appears he wasn't even disciplined. http://www.ussoccer.com/News/U-20-MNT/2013/03/U20-MNT-Falls-3-1-in-Overtime-to-Take-Second-in-CONCACAF.aspx Unless that game is against a different team, but those look like the Mexico jerseys, right?
Barry Sanchez Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Ah, didn't realise it was Wright...only just tuned in - cheers I like complimestry, it sounds like something Gollem would say.
THINWHITEDUKE Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Turned over to Villa v Citeh, got p!ssed off with the Liverpool w@nkfest, deserved equaliser my @rse!!!!!
S-Clarke Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Turned over to Villa v Citeh, got p!ssed off with the Liverpool w@nkfest, deserved equaliser my @rse!!!!! What do you expect on Liverpool FC TV?
Suhari Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Saw the last 6 minutes. Forren looks like he should be working at Kwikfit! As a poster above said, he don't look an athlete. Mark Wright has filled out. why is Evans wearing trainers and a suit? The presenter looks a dirty ******. Anyone have any views on the game for me?!!
SuperMikey Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Saints pretty much dominated the first half and deserved to be 1-0 up going in at HT. Some good passing and nice fluidity with the side - you can tell that we've got the players at all levels to play in the same style as the first team. Liverpool had a fair bit of quality in their squad - Suso and their goalscorer (Adjoran?) were very dangerous and good on the ball. Play of the game being a swift Liverpool counter-attack and Suso sliding through a perfect through ball for their winger to run onto, only for him to fluff his chance. You could tell we were tired by the 75th minute or so, Liverpool had all the possession for a large chunk of the second half and missed quite a few gilt-edged chances. They held onto the ball and made us sit deep and chase them about. Bright sparks for us were Gazzaniga (made some good saves, good distribution), Targett (great going forward, little sloppy at the back sometimes), Rowe (fantastic deliveries from set-pieces), Seidi (looked dangerous cutting in off the wing) and McQueen (did well as a sub, gave us a bit of energy and zip and tracked back well from the wing). Sinclair needs to learn to look for his teammates positions when he's in the final third so he can either pick out a pass or have a pop at goal if there are no other options. Forren looked good if a little rusty, big presence in the air and read the game well, but got undone once or twice with a ball slipped in behind him. Needs a pacy player alongside to cover him really. Draw was probably a fair result.

Rowe looked very good and played with intelligence. Taggart caught the eye as did McQueen but not in a first team way though Taggart was easily as good as Fox however that's not really a compliment is it..... A good watch and deserved draw.... a little worrying we ran out of puff........ Edited 4 March, 2013 by captainchris
VectisSaint Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 I like complimestry, it sounds like something Gollem would say. Thank you precious, thought it had a nice ring about it. Then again maybe I was just fat fingering on my phone.
The Kraken Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Seidi had a good first 10 or 15 minutes, got clobbered by Coady and after that was utterly dreadful. Rowe was very good first half, quieter in the second. Reminds me of a young Danny Wallace. Robinson was good in the first half too. Can't tell enough about Forren to see if he'll step up well; I'd hoped he be taller than he is, hardly a dominating centre half. Jake Sinclair seemed a little lost up front on his own, but livelier when he had the ball at the feet running at players. JWP was fairly quiet.
Andy Durman Posted 5 March, 2013 Posted 5 March, 2013 On reflection 1-1 was the correct result. How much did we spend on Forren? 4 million? If i'm paying that amount of money I would want something a little special. He will need to improve although it was his first game.
