Glasgow_Saint Posted 31 March, 2013 Author Posted 31 March, 2013 In League One. Nigel was appointed when we were in league 1?
mafiboy27 Posted 31 March, 2013 Posted 31 March, 2013 ridiculous post. We have the most promising manager in Europe as well as Tottenham have. We're going to finish top 10 next season. We have the money and future plans for both the stadim and training ground. So stop moaning!

Window Cleaner Posted 31 March, 2013 Posted 31 March, 2013 In League One. exactly, with a side containing what 6 players who have since shown they can cut it with the best in the PL. Getting out of League 1 with that side was just a formality, anyone could have done it.

Window Cleaner Posted 31 March, 2013 Posted 31 March, 2013 So you are saying pardew put together the team that got us to the prem, innit? not really, a couple of them were already here before Pardew, AOC came from the Academy etc. All I'm sayng is thatwith the side he had promotion was a formality without the -10 points. Still finished second though, probably due to the woefully thought out Wilkins period. Although when I said "anyone" I forgot to exclude Dean Wilkins...
Saint Fan CaM Posted 31 March, 2013 Posted 31 March, 2013 Pochitino knows how get team playing to beat top attack-minded teams. He now needs to learn how to sort out defensive hoof ball teams. He will, and when that happens we will really kick-on.

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 31 March, 2013 Posted 31 March, 2013 Agreed said that since day 1 You also said we weren't playing better under him. I think this is a practical demonstration of if you throw enough **** at a wall, somethings gonna stick...

doggface Posted 31 March, 2013 Posted 31 March, 2013 Trolltastic thread with no substance from the same old shotgun bores.
david in sweden Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 from OP 4th March..... The myth that we have been "superb" since Tino arrived is now dead. Ah ? .....you were saying...?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 April, 2013 Author Posted 1 April, 2013 Ah ? .....you were saying...? Tino has a 33% win ratio Nigel had a 54% win ratio Lets not get carried away yet. Wins against weak Chelsea and Liverpool teams dont make him the new Alex Ferguson.

(a)...Not in the Premier League he didn't......5 wins in 22 games - isn't 54% - is it Glasgow? or looking at it another way.(statistically) NA achieved 22 pts.of a possible 66..this season MP's tally so far is ...12 poiints of a poss. 27 (b) ...Can there be such a thing as a weak side in a club like Chelsea? . Practically everyone in their first team squad is an international....... ©....who mentioned Alex Ferguson? Edited 1 April, 2013 by david in sweden

Turkish Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 We've got lucky in that Chelsea, Livepool and Man City have all had their worst performances of the season when they've played us.

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 Chelsea made 7 changes so was a weak team yes or no The only change that mattered was Mata not playing, and that was an enforced change.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 April, 2013 Author Posted 1 April, 2013 The only change that mattered was Mata not playing, and that was an enforced change. 7 first team changes helped too
Saint_Tony Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 Did Liverpool not put out their strongest side against us, apart from the goalkeeper? But then that also means Chelsea played against a 'weak' Saints team for 45 minutes Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
Olallana Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 7 first team changes helped too Can only beat what´s in front of you.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 7 first team changes helped too Chelsea don't look any better today than they did on Saturday. Ramires is p*ss poor and Lampard looked far better.
Matthew Le God Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 7 first team changes helped too Every player that came in was them an international of note apart from Bertrand. It was still a good very Chelsea team.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 April, 2013 Author Posted 1 April, 2013 Every player that came in was them an international of note apart from Bertrand. It was still a good very Chelsea team. would we have said the same if they made 7 changes before playing villa, Wigan, Sunderland?
Avenue Saint Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 would we have said the same if they made 7 changes before playing villa, Wigan, Sunderland? You've got a penchant for irrelevance haven't you?
Olallana Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 would we have said the same if they made 7 changes before playing villa, Wigan, Sunderland? Where are those 7 changes coming from? What lineup do they compare with then? How many players were they really missing in the lineup that deffo would be starting if they choose their best team? Mata, Hazard, Cole and perhaps Luiz. Torres has played more games than Ba last few months. Choose two from Ramires, Lampard, Mikel is pretty much the same no matter who they choose.

KelvinsRightGlove Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 We've got lucky in that Chelsea, Livepool and Man City have all had their worst performances of the season when they've played us. Feels like that has been the case every game we have won this season and last. Funny that.
david in sweden Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 Chelsea made 7 changes so was a weak team yes or no (1)...see # 425 again.. .NA had 5 wins in 22 games ....MP has 3 wins in 9. ..and better % of points. You didn't respond to the figures above...... (2) He made changes.....who said the prev. side he played was a strong one ? Chelsea had one of the best goalies in the world. Two England internationals with over 150 caps caps between them...and a £50 million striker...call that weak?
Olallana Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 Wouldn't waste your breath mate on him mate. I may be old, but not that old that I have only a fixed amount of breath left in me
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 1 April, 2013 Posted 1 April, 2013 I may be old, but not that old that I have only a fixed amount of breath left in me I have been told that if people report his trolling posts (ie. The posts he makes just to wind people up, the lies on what people have said etc) he WILL be banned. I am therefore going to follow him around and report as many of these posts as possible so he can no longer post. Wish me luck.

Two England internationals with over 150 caps caps between them...and a £50 million striker...call that weak? When you put it like that Also worth remembering that we had no Adam, no Ramirez, no Boruc (2nd half)
david in sweden Posted 2 April, 2013 Posted 2 April, 2013 When you put it like that Also worth remembering that we had no Adam, no Ramirez, no Boruc (2nd half) No but seriously Glasgow...it was beginning to sound like one of those weekend media critics who condemn Saints because they don't play like Barcelona every week. Truth is every manager puts out a team he thinks will get the result he wants, and if they don't perform on the day....or, he guesses wrong with his subbing, then it's his responsibility. No team gets 100% possession, but even with Chelsea's second half " revival " we still managed 57/43 possesion in the whole game. Not bad - even without our players you mentioned. The change of strategy - using the same players - proves that MP is every bit as good as NA.....and the remaining fixtures will show us whether MP has that " X -factor " that Nigel lacked.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 27 April, 2013 Author Posted 27 April, 2013 P13 W4 D5 L4 Goals 17 Against 17 After taking over a team in top form and improving week on week the results under Pinocchio are disappointing. Think we would be 40+ points now under Nigel Suggests he can get the players motivated for (some) big teams but cant deliver the bread n butter #worried
Glasgow_Saint Posted 13 May, 2013 Author Posted 13 May, 2013 4 wins from 15!!! Anyone worried? Is he still a "tactical genius"?
Olallana Posted 13 May, 2013 Posted 13 May, 2013 Why still post on this one Glasgow? You started a similar thread yesterday under your other login....

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 13 May, 2013 Posted 13 May, 2013 We stayed up with Poch, which I didn't think we'd necessarily do with Nige, so very happy. Surprised the OP has brought this thread up again because it is a bit of an embarrassment to him.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 4 February, 2014 Posted 4 February, 2014 What are people's thoughts on Pochettino now?

Yeah, I saw that as well. I have tried to prove numerous times who I am, but no-one wants to accept it. It's unfortunate, but what can I do. I was extremely disappointed when Pochettino came in, not because I thought Adkins was an amazing manager (he is a good manager though), but due to the timing. However, even though last season we undeniably tailed off towards the end of the season, I feel this season we have gone to that next level. Whether we can keep hold of MP I don't know, but I for one hope we can.

buctootim Posted 4 February, 2014 Posted 4 February, 2014 It doesnt bother me. I just think think if someone were to come back under a different guise, it probably wouldn't hep their cover if they dig up an old thread which shows up their ***** buddy from their previous incarnation in a bad light (not that he needs the help).
