Badger Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 A sentiment first seen on here, afternoon of 18th January 2013 to be honest, albeit one expressed by a few in anger.
SnailOB Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 SFC don't sack managers - we put them on extended gardening leave
Glasgow_Saint Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 FFS do you really think that GS I think so Milton...... Short term appointment according to journo on SSN earlier. Think Tino would be learning English if he thought deal was longterm?
Saint Garrett Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 MR, your troll mate 110 per saint has already decided he should go.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 MR, your troll mate 110 per saint has already decided he should go. Dont call Milton a Troll please
Andre Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 Not sure myself, but there will definitely be shouts for it if we continue playing like we have.
Badger Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 SFC don't sack managers - we put them on extended gardening leave or "mutual consent" them...
Wiggles31 Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 Jesus we have one poor performance. Every team has games like that. It was out of character for what we have seen so far under MP. The previous games have been more than encouraging. Some absolute pillocks post on here. Mental.
110_Persaint Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 Call me a troll all you like folks but the truth is this muppet hasn't got a clue what he's doing. With every subsequent game it's looking like the City win was a fluke. Had City decided to show up that evening we could well be looking at six games without a win and more people, in fact most people on here would be calling for his head. Even if I can make believe Adkins couldn't cut it in the prem, I can't for the life of me see what Nicola saw in this inept plank.
kpturner Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 Not sure myself, but there will definitely be shouts for it if we continue playing like we have. Yeah - that win against City was bloody awful!
Saint Garrett Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 Don't think any fan would be calling for his head if we'd lost to man city tbh. They would be questioning Cortese a bit more though. Pochettino has shown promising moments. I'm not convinced by him. Yet, and he'll take time to adjust, I just hope he does it before may and we start picking up points. It's not like we're playing badly. A mixture of injuries and individual errors are costing us at the moment. Shaw is clearly still carrying an injury. Gaston seems to pick up an injury every game courtesy of teams singling him out for special treatment. And the unsettled defence. I think we've shown enough under Poche to stay up and with a good pre season it'll be interesting to see how he does in the transfer market Pretty pathetic to be writing him off in all honesty. Things don't have to be so black and white.

Completely OTT negativity IMHO - with the exception of yesterday I am pretty happy with the way the team has played so far under MP
Bearsy Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 Putting them on double training at this stage of the season was stupid. They've looked knackered last couple of games and we seem to be picking up thigh strains & stuff. He ain't done much else wrong. His team selections & subs is generally good. I like his pressing tactics too, it may be comically suicidal sometimes but makes for exciting football matches!
mitch01 Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 Yesterday was the first game of Pochettino's reign where I have been disappointed with the performance. Otherwise we have been very good, and I am still pretty confident of a finish around 14th place. Not going to panic just yet.
SaintRobbie Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 He'll probably have to go along with Cortese if we relegate - he's certainly not the man we need for the Championship... he's already been sacked.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 I don't think he's going anywhere soon. He provides exactly the style of play that is desired by NC. Trouble is, like Adkins before him, he has limited options in the players available to him to deliver. He's finding out some key issues - it's how he reacts that counts. Can't see us going down, but Lambert and some others need to step up to the plate and put in some consistent shifts.

lordswoodsaints Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Up until the QPR game I have been pretty encouraged about what I've seen so far but a few around me want him gone.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Completely OTT negativity IMHO - with the exception of yesterday I am pretty happy with the way the team has played so far under MP Everton game we looked good for first 60 minutes United away - shocking in 1st half, good 2nd Wigan same as Man united poor in 1st 45 good for 2nd half Man City good for 90 Newcastle again good for 40 (1st 20 minutes of each half) poor for 50 QPR just poor for 96 minutes So imho we have played well for 280 minutes under Tino and been v poor for 260
patred44 Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 the subject of this thread is totally irrelevant. Afterall a manager out of work, just been sacked because his team is bottom of league, is hardly going to turn the job down, he would be stupid. The question we should be asking was the vacancy neccessary ? Did we need to send Nigel on 'garden leave'. No doubt that Adkins had changed the 'default system' to make it harder to break us down, and it was working. We were getting enough points to keep us out of the relegation zone. The 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge was indicative of our new resolve. He was rewarded with the sack. We were told it was an appointment which would secure our future. We all know deep down that Cortese was upset that Adkins changed the formation, and that, to him, was unforgivable. So instead of backing his manager with neccessary signings in January, he decided to sculk around the continent looking for someone to replace him. Now it won't be Mauricios fault if we get relegated, nor Adkins, it will be those who decided to take the risk at a vital time for stability. They sacrificed a vital vital transfer window with thier personal vendetta and put this clubs PL status at real risk.

The previous games have been more than encouraging. Some absolute pillocks post on here. Mental. If you really want to witness 'pillock mentality' - follow the match day thread when we are losing ! It truly is a non-joy to behold ! Fair enough that these guys are not at the game (location etc..) but they bring a whole new dimension to negativity ! Fortunately, when at home I go to the stadium but at the moment I'm in Africa so had the misfortune to need updates through the SWF thread ! Grrrrr.....
alpine_saint Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 I am not demanding his dismissal, but he does seem to have been found out by other PL managers in very short order.... Maybe his phillosophy/strategy will work with the right players, but we dont seem to have them currently. We have taken a massive risk that he can keep us up and then do business in the summer (considering our dire track record in the market..)
Saint Garrett Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Or maybe it works against the better footballing sides but really doesn't against the more direct sides. There is little point on using a high press on a team who is going to lump it anyway. On Saturday it wasn't just that either. The two very quick wide players caused us huge problems and with the amount of space we left behind the front 4, it's no surprise that Remy and Hoilett caused us problems all game. MP has to come up with an alternative way of playing against teams who don't know it about the back. I doubt there are many teams at all who play like that in Spain.
Charlie Wayman Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 Communication must be nigh on impossible and it won't be helping, why isn't the bloke speaking English by now? After all what's to learn? "Hoof it up the middle" "Drop back" "Get forward" "Stay wide" "Get stuck in"
wild-saint Posted 4 March, 2013 Posted 4 March, 2013 does every team have complete tools in thier fan base? we seem to have more than our fair share!
