I miss the PR plants

Although I think Cortese is a bit of a w@nker, he does have his good points and maybe we should all support him ....

Everyone (Everyone) here is a twonk.

This is a one category site. ;)

Ohio, can you let us know what a twonk is?

I find your terminology often differs from us UK residents, and I just want a bit of clarification before I agree with it or not.

I think we're all keen to avoid an "El Guapo plethora" moment.

There are still quite a few PR plants for the old regime knocking around and sniping because they are now just a "supporter".

Twonk is a British word!

IMO:

1) honest posters with usually great insight and a respectful demeanor: colinjb, s-clarke, charlie, dubai, chez, crab lungs, etc.

2) honest posters hated for their "negativity" when in fact they're only being realistic: alpine, miltonroader, dibden, dalek, etc.

3) posters who come here to mouth off about whatever tickles their fancy, usually like to pick arguments: dig dig, appy, garrett, badger, for_heaven's, supermikey, etc.

4) posters who come here to have fun, not too fussed about serious saints talk: bearsy, tokyo, glasgow, turkish, spud, etc.

5) those who think their opinion is of great importance and believe themselves untouchable: MLG, delldays, itchen_dan, Mr X, trousers, etc.

6) harmless posters who quietly give their opinion whilst passing under the radar: 70's_mike, ART, dr who, ottery, pingwing, whitey etc.

7) flat out trolls: sotonjoe, hypochondriac, vectis, flyer, toresf, etc.

Being fairly new I will let you off this once and wont hold the fact that my name should of been the first in category 5 against you , just dont let it happen again ;-)

I am amazed at how some people can clock up so many posts.

Some average 15 - 20 posts per day over a number of years. Do they not lead a normal life? Are they stuck in some gloomy room glued to their keyboards?

Is it a question of quantity over quality?

Most of my posts are on match day. During the game as I only get to handful. If we are playing ant other time during the week I post more on the build up, during and after.

Tend to post in the evenings during the week, if anything stands out, and I feel like responding. Changes from day to day really. Can clock up 100 on match day, then not bother. Depends on the time I have and what is on for that day.

The thing is, a creepy lurker like ecuk268 probably spends about the same amount of time reading the forum as a profilic poster but just doesn't post so don't understand the high ground being taken. Also, if it wasn't for people posting, there would be nothin for the creepy lurkers to read anyway, FFS.

Me too, for the most part. The Match day threads were one of the few good things about the lower leagues. With no video streams to watch we had more time on on our hands. Some of the matchday threads were better entertainment that listening to the commentary. :D

The matchday threads were a boon to those with Bowel issues, but a nightmare if you were trying to give up smoking. Hell they even influenced meal choices and cooking times.

And the whole behind the scenes gambling culture they inspired. Made thousands on the "At what minute in the game will Mountains appear?"

You forgot people who continually bang on about how rubbish certain players are who keep costing us games - such as Davis and Fox - until they are dropped.

Ps Fox is rubbish

Those that hail every positive news article or player linked as a great story, brilliant journalism or in the case of players linked a massive statement of intent. But slam every negative article or player linked moving away as unfounded lies from lazy journalists with an anti Saints agenda.

So, where are we now in the total count of categories of poster?

By my reckoning we almost have more categories than we do posters.

Now, what the hell is wrong with Rory McIlroy?

Posted

Category 757 - those expat posters who are able to turn every thread into a beer and golf story.

Category 758 - those posters called Eric who assist 757 in his evil ways.

Posted

Can we have a category for "posters who actually seem to know something about what happens on a football pitch and not just what happens on a football forum"? I'd nominate Lallana's Left Peg, neef and... nah, no good to have a whole category for just two people :(

Posted

I don't actually know that much about football compared to a lot of people on here.

This is why I constrain most of my opinions to stuff I know a bit about. I do enjoy reading others' analysis of the game though.

Category 759 - the posters that despite living thousands of miles away have had a beer/cocktail/bottle of wine with every ex player and everyone ever linked with buying the club and been told lots of intimate secrets.

It goes without saying that I'm generally considered to represent the very pinnacle of Saintsweb aristocracy, seen exclusively on all the better class of thread don't you know. Indeed I'm so high up the social order on here that my butler has to hold on to the bottom of the ladder for health and safety reasons. As for the rest of you lot ... well let's face it, you're a bunch of plebs aren't you?

While we're on the subject, I see that frightful nouveau riche yobbo Jose Fonte has purchased a utterly horrid Bentley Continental - in white!

Classy compared to Balotelli's camouflage version of the same car.

Please do not say "I haven't seen it".
