Norwich Build Up Thread

slight over reaction to be fair.

the home defeat by QPR has induced a sort of rampant pessimism amongst a certain sector of the fans. Problem is QPR are perceived to be far worse than they actually are, probably because of the unexplicable hatred of Harry Redknapp. They are a good side on their day and would eventually get results, still expect them to avoid relegation myself.

As for Saints, the front men need to be far more efficient than they were last week, Lambert and Lallana were just a waste of time and space.

Everton threw that match away

They will stick Bassong on Rickie like Qpr did with Samba. This is why I would put Rickie in for Gaston and J-rod up front.Bassong is quite quick as well if I remember so he will have Rickie in his pocket if he starts up top on his own

Our defence has gone backward in recent weeks and we miss shedloads of chances - so basically we are getting poorer.

We will lose this 3-1. Norwich apparently 'don't pose much threat' but they were able to beat Everton 2-1 in their last home game - we lost 2-1 to QPR at home, their THIRD league win this whole season.

We really are a poor team and our results will reflect this.

We really arent a poor team.

So then any early team news? coach sightings etc. Still concerned by the lack of Morgan and Steve Davis in any of the build up videos. Could start with a DM pairing of Cork and JWP, don't think I'd like that really.

Vegard Forren is in the squad.

Nope QPR were a bad team - but they sat back, defended deep and came for the draw - and snatched a win. Without Samba' size and Remy's pace they would have lost.

We lost because plan A - pressing against a team set up like that doesn't work - and we didn't seem to have any plan B. we couldnt play through them so just resorted to playing the long ball to Rickie - but Samba had him in his pocket.

It was obvious after 15 mins that we needed to change something - bring Jay Rod on and play him up front with Rickie in the whole and Gaston in a free role. That and tell our full backs to sit back and defend the long balls out from QPR.

It didn't help that Fox can't defend!

We really missed the left back and pacy right winger we should have bought in January as well though.

I would expect a massive reaction after last week. They won't need telling that performance wasn't good enough. I don't know who is doubtful for this game but as long as fox is the only one out I think we can take this to Norwich and win.

Think Morgan might be struggling, perhaps Yoshida too.

So what is that if it is not Plan B? Problem actually was that Plan B was a stupid plan with Samba playing and we did not have a Plan C.

We will win.

I'm not spending four hours on trains, having painfully negotiated myself a weekend away from the missus and our two kids (one a 2 month old) on chuffing mothers day weekend to see us effing lose.

We will not lose. We will win. Take that to the bank. Fact.

Oh, and don't even think about snowing, Norwich.

Got a bad feeling for today, Christ I hope I am wrong, that game last week really hurt us I think, we need some backbone displayed today not the usual hairdresser crap, Davis for Ramirez as he has been **** for us and is allergic to places north of St Denys.

Makes a change for you to be negative eh Baz!

I seem to remember us going away to Norwich towards the end of our first season in L1 when they ran away with it. Everybody expected us to lose against the team that was head and shoulders above the rest of the league at that time, and we took away a very well-deserved 2-0 win. Not saying the same will happen today, but then I didn't expect us to beat Man City either and look what happened there. It's a funny old game.

FWIW, I think Norwich will play the ball on the deck and attack us, meaning our pressing game can be a lot more effective than it is against a side content to sit back and defend deep like QPR did. As long as Fox isn't playing I reckon we've got a chance.
