Norwich Build Up Thread

A return for Davis in place of Ramirez is a no-brainer for me. Hopefully Shaw will be back to full fitness; we need a fox-less 90 minutes.

For the back four, I hope Hooiveld isn't out for too long. Yoshida and Jos had built a good partnership, Jos's bravery ahead of Fonte's culture would have served us well last saturday, I can see Norwich playing in a similar style, trying to pick us off on the break.

A point would be valuable, a win utterly sensational. I predict 1-1.

Absolutely, thinking back to the QPR game those two passes Ramirez f*cked up to put players through on goal just before he was subbed, I think Davis would have managed to get it through.

Stats indicate that a significant factor in the outcome will be how well we defend their set-plays. 37% of their home goals have been scored via this route whereas 35% of our away goals conceded are from set pieces (both high relatively).

If we defend well I think we will win, but you could say that about so many games this season. We certainly have goals in us away from home and have scored more away than Norwich have scored at home. Our away form and their home form over the last 6 games are identical (W-1, D-3, L-2).

I also think Tettey is quite a big loss for them given central midfield is our strongest area in my opinion. If we can dominate Johnson and Howson we have a good platform for a decent result. A game without a conspicuous individual error (or succession thereof) would be welcome as well of course.

if morgan and davis out injured then our midfield will be severely weakened. CM options would be JWP, Guly, Lallana, Ramirez or Chaplow.

I would personally go for Lallana. Ramirez is to much of a risk in that position as he has tendency to give the ball away a lot.

my 2-0 win prediction will change should morgan and davis be out injured:(

If Yoshida is out, any chance of a debut for Forren? Fingers crossed Yoshida and Fonte arent both out, Hooiveld and Forren :?

If Schniederlin's out (as well as Davis?), could Guly come back in, or JWP? Hopefully they were just training somewhere else!

Was just looking through the Norwich preparation training pics and is that Steve De Ridder I see back from his loan spell? Can't remember how long the loan was for but it doesn't seem very long.

It is. It was a months loan - he started the first couple of games then they realised he is rubbish and he became an unused sub.

He needs a L1 loan IMO.

Could explain why Forren was ''rushed'' into the U21 game at the request of the senior management team.

He was rubbish for them, as expected really.

Mmm, don't like this one bit - I think we could easily go up there and get caught napping (again) - just the sort of team we don't do well against. 2-1 to Norwich.

Really ?! I was thinking that they're the kind of team we do alright against. No real pace. Not a huge physical presence. Just a team of hard working players. We can certainly pressure their midfield and defence into mistakes.

Actually I think the opposite, I don't think they have loads that will trouble us. No pace, they're just very organised and tough to break down.

Lightweight, poor distribution for me.

But hey, ho, i'd love to be proved wrong from now.

His key weakness.... I'll give you that, but his mobility, reading of the game and endeavour make him first choice for me. As for lightweight.... must say i've not had that impression.

No, its not. Just a hunch based on him not being in any of the training pics or videos. When that happens usually the player is injured.

Get off the internet for a bit lad. Life isn't lived through saints player training videos

In todays modern society thats actually near on impossible.

Besides, how could I speculate about team news from SP videos then?

u can jaculate over schneiderlin videos if you like charlie, but i should hold off on actually killing urself till the official team sheet is announced.

I would put Rickie in the hole and have J-rod up front.

Boruc

Clyne Fonte Maya Shaw

Punch Morgan cork Lallana

Lambert

J-rod

I know Lambert in the hole will probably be dismissed on here but that would enable him to have a free role, and leave j-rod up top with a bit of pace

Nervous about this one. Lose and we'll be right in the sh*t with Villa, Reading and QPR having good chances to pick up points, and 2 tough home fixtures coming up. Norwich are a decent side at home and hard to beat. They never seem to be out of a game, and with our habit of conceding at bad times, I don't think we'll have enough to win there. Score draw at best IMO.

I also think Villa will win at Reading, and QPR to take at least a point from Sunderland at home. I think we'll be in a position where we'll really need at least a win out of Liverpool or Chelsea at home. I just hope we can find the sort of performances we were getting used to before the Newcastle game.

Bassong is a very good defender and is quite capable of marking Lambert out of the game, so, if selected, a lot will be down to Jay Rod. What really worries me is that Norwich counter attack with real pace, and that will cause us trouble if we go too gung hoo. A solid performance at the back could earn us a point though..and I'd take that.

Our defence has gone backward in recent weeks and we miss shedloads of chances - so basically we are getting poorer.

We will lose this 3-1. Norwich apparently 'don't pose much threat' but they were able to beat Everton 2-1 in their last home game - we lost 2-1 to QPR at home, their THIRD league win this whole season.

We really are a poor team and our results will reflect this.
