Can't see us winning this one in a million years if we play like we did yesterday. Scrappy 0-0 or 1-1 I think, but please, please prove me wrong Saints, otherwise we're really in trouble.

Posted

We need to change the way we play a bit - or at least have a plan B. That and more of the played need to b on top of their game.

I'd start with 4-3-3 and the pressing game - but play Foren at left back as supposedly he's played there before and tell our full backs to stay back and defend a little bit more so that we have always got three at the back:

Boruc

Clyne Fonte Yoshida. Forren

Cork. Morgan

Davis

Ramirez. Rodriguez

Lambert

If that's not working we should switch to a 4-2-3-1 with Lambert in the hole behind Rodriguez - swap Puncheon for Davis and play Gaston and Puncheon out wide.

But hopefully Norwich will actually come out and attack us so we actually have something to press!

Posted

we need to go back to roughly the same side that beat City but with Shaw in for Fox and José for Jos. Lambert needs to do far far more than he did yesterday, what a let down, nothing from him whatsoever, just gave their defence an easy ride.

They are in utterly atrocious form! Didn't even register a shot at Old Trafford today.

3-1 Saints. Lambert, Rodriguez and Puncheon.

Norwich truly in dire, dire atrocious form. Terrible. Shocking. Like some kind of form car crash. Awful. A pitiful Six points from the last six games. Atrocious.

Super Saints flying up the table on the march to tenth place have amassed a breathtaking five points from the last six games. Stunning. Europe here we come.

If we start hoofing balls to Lambert from the 10th minute Bassong and Pilkington will be on it.

Not that it matters because we've shown to persist on dead ends until it starts costing us.

Regardless of that hoping a good result at Carrow Road. They are in the exact opposite form that saw them scrap a point from St.Mary's. Having said this, we pretty much were in a better place results-wise back then...

Would love to be optimistic but after yesterdays game it has me nervous for the result. I thought QPR would be unmotivated for the win, they were not on form but neither was our finishing in the last third. Another performance like that & it will be two teams in poor performance mode grinding out a draw or perhaps one side will nick it either way. THe man utd result may even give them the kick up the butt they needed however as the other results did little to effect our overall position, did our result give us a kick? We shall see! I think I'll switch off all media runup to this game as I get more & more positive in the run up & then feel let down with a result like yesterday. Still beleive we will survive but just dont want to be in the relegation conundrum on the last day of season.

Pilkington is an attacking midfielder.

Why would Pilkington be playing at the back !? Have I missed something ?

Big game. They're out of form, we're coming off the back of an awful game. We're capable of picking up a win, and hopefully we get one, but Norwich are a good side.

With Liverpool and Chelsea to follow this, it kind of needs to be a win after the result we had yesterday.

Anything else would send us deep into the mire by April.

Which is the second reason why I was so hacked off with yesterday's performance and result. The first being because, out of all our games, I really wanted us to destroy Saggy's lot.

Why would QPR be unmotivated for a win? Contrary to popular creed they are a good side, good players with a good manager and staff. They now have a series of matches that could take them out of the relegation zone by beating rivals in that area.

Should they beat Sunderland,Wigan and Villa who are 3 of their next 4 they'll be out of the bottom 3 probably leaving Reading,Wigan and Villa there.

I have not a clue how we will do next week. Our performances are all over the place!

I will go draw, but only for that reason.

Dalek2003 has to lose, so we might sneak it ;)

Hope we do win, but Norwich are up for this. 3 points and they are close to ensuring their premier status.

Another 2 hours on the train from London to Norwich.

Forgot just how far away it is.

Hoping to keep up my 100% record up there with no goals conceded.

Right then. Surman will score with a thirty five yard screamer obviously. So I'm going for a Rickie double and a 2-1 win. COYR

Surman was shopping in Tesco's at Bursledon on saturday morning, is he injured again ?

Boruc

Clyne Fonte Yoshida Shaw

Cork Schneiderlin

Rodriguez Davis Lallana

Lambert

Subs: K Davis, Richardson, Forren, Ramirez, Puncheon, Chaplow, Mayuka

Edit: originally missed off Punch - swapped in for JWP

injured, surplus to requirement...who knows, think he's only played 4 league games for Norwich this season. Probably because they've moved on since they signed him. A lot of competition in midfield at Carrow Rd these days.

Ah...Bugger - knew there was someone I'd missed and couldn't think who it was....swap Puncheon in for JWP on the bench in that case.

I'm sticking with Chappers though... :)

Maybe Davis for Gaston. otherwise agree.

Norwich are a high energy team who will play with tempo. This will help the way we play under MP. They don't seem to have players that scream pace either as far as I know (Holt, Snodgrass was never fast, Pilkington).

This is a must win ahead of two difficult home games. Davis for Gaston and JRod for Lallana.

Literally impossible, no team at the bottom could ever win 3 out of 4 games. I read it on here yesterday. Fact.

I'm not sure I'd be pinning all my hopes on Shaw coming back and saving us.

He's been injured and ill recently and looking at his last two performances may well have hit a wall, as a 17 year old he will have taken a massive physical and emotional hit since making his debut. He's done absolutely brilliantly but I would be looking to pull him out for 3 or 4 games and hopefully get him right for the last 6 or so.

Unfortunately the alternative is too dire to contemplate, think we really do need to seriously consider either Forren at LB for a run of games or switching Clyne over and playing FR at RB.

Forren should've been introduced into the team by now and this would be a good option. Unfortunately that's not the case, so we can't rely on him to be good enough. I would prefer to put Yoshi at LB and bring Hooiveld back in, he's been alright recently; Frazer Richardson is also off the pace for me.

Didn't Clattenburg ref our game just after he was accused of racism and have an absolute stinker? Think it was something like Spurs or Swansea earlier in the year.

Don't think Gaston deserves to be dropped. Played pretty well Saturday and scored with a sublime finish. I'd start with him and bring Davis on when he gets knackered!

A sublime finish? A nice lob but if you also watch Ramirez he watched this all the way into the net, not a sign of confidence, Davis to start for me, Ramirez is too lightwieght and has a lack of stamina.

Or 7 points from last 11 games.....

The old eleven game form guide. It's everywhere these days, isn't it?

Sorry, I can help you on that one....

7 points from last 10 games...

7 points from last 9 games...

7 points from last 8 games....

Pick the one you like the best. :)

It was Norwich at home.

I'm fairly optimistic. That late showing at Everton is their only win in nigh-on 3 months. I'm pretty confident we can get something there and a draw would do. Draws at Norwich, Reading and another at home to Liverpool would be decent results. A couple more wins on top of that would probably keep us up although I would like to do a little better.

Norwich aren't a quick side. Stick Jos on Holt, have Yoshi cleaning up next to him and keep the ball away from Snodgrass. Not easy but doable.

I am going to this, so that will be a loss, can't remember the last time I saw us win.

Oh farking great.

3,500 miles back to blighty, an 1800 mile day trip (on my own) to spend a night with non English speaking future in-laws, a 3 hour drive at midnight to Salisbury then a 9am pick up for a 4 hour drive each way to the game,,,

And YOU'RE going? And we ALWAYS lose?

Oh great.

(please PM me your method of travel and what you will be wearing so I can send Milts thanks, love D_P)

That´s not a form table, is it?

If you would´ve said 32 points from 27 games I could have accepted that....

At the end of the day the form table doesn't matter a damn.

Only one statistic matters on the day.

Shots on goal.

In their last 5 games only Man United and Spurs have had more shots at goal than them, they are proving themselves to be an excellent side.
