ART Posted 2 March, 2013 Posted 2 March, 2013 Senor Pochettino, your period of good luck has come to an end. We now face the period of every season where things get nasty, doesn't go to plan. Ask Rupert Lowe, or Glenn Hoddle, ask so many past managers, even Nigel had to really step it up to get us promoted last season. This is the Year of the Snake, one where Karma really takes it toil. Pochettino took up the deadly challenge, where Adkins was stabbed in the back. Mister Cortesé what awaits your fortune and destiny at this IDES OF MARCH 2013?
sadoldgit Posted 2 March, 2013 Posted 2 March, 2013 I still remember someone on here saying that Cortese had not make a mistake yet. He made a huge mistake in sacking Adkins when he did.
Pedro Posted 2 March, 2013 Posted 2 March, 2013 Relegation form, no plan b today, thankfully the other teams around us didn't win, hopefully Villa lose and keep us the distance apart. WHU now pulling away, the worry is now for us is the upcaoming games which are pretty tough and todays performance doesn' fill me with confidence.
Didcot Saint Posted 2 March, 2013 Posted 2 March, 2013 Never never never should have sacked NA. Could be the worst and most wrongful decision by that arrogant prat yet.
Shroppie Posted 2 March, 2013 Posted 2 March, 2013 I still remember someone on here saying that Cortese had not make a mistake yet. He made a huge mistake in sacking Adkins when he did. I was prepared to give MP a chance, but after today have to agree.

Agree, that is a decision that will haunt us,possibly as early as next season. But never mind, we are destined for European football, as amply demonstrated today.
wild-saint Posted 2 March, 2013 Posted 2 March, 2013 I was prepared to give MP a chance, but after today have to agree. of course adkins team never palyed that badly atbhome against fellow relegation struggler, oh sunderland doh! get over it we played badly for the first time in a while and paid the price. imo we will be fine but a few bumps on the way to come.
Mowgli Posted 2 March, 2013 Posted 2 March, 2013 I still remember someone on here saying that Cortese had not make a mistake yet. He made a huge mistake in sacking Adkins when he did. Which is a pretty dumb thing to say after just six games. Awful today yes.
ringwood Posted 2 March, 2013 Posted 2 March, 2013 played badly, hmm they had 3 chances, what did for us was no plan B, we needed to invite them out, we lacked guile we lacked a £12m playmaker to play incisive balls, we lacked pace but most of all we lacked space as QPR were content to sit deep and we let them. no plan B will be the undoing of us, NA managed to change shape at times, not seen that at all today, personally I think the handicap of language will be the killer as he maybe a great coach but the lack of fluidity has to be affected by the lack of communication.
Andre Posted 2 March, 2013 Posted 2 March, 2013 Haha, the way everyone lambasts people who say we should've kept Adkins etc, now goes back and agrees. You lot are ****ing petty. Adkins was a class manager, we all knew that, and now we're adapting to a new guy who is clearly good but no real step up from Nige.
110_Persaint Posted 2 March, 2013 Posted 2 March, 2013 What a difference a football match makes. Had Remy and Bothroyd missed their chances the words "Adkins" and "Nigel" would be as unheard of on this board tonight as applause in a church.

This is rich, coming after you posted this on another thread: Wouldn't shed a tear to never see that Pochettino muppet anywhere near our club ever again.

Pochettino took up the deadly challenge, where Adkins was stabbed in the back. Mister Cortesé what awaits your fortune and destiny at this IDES OF MARCH 2013?This is the same set of players NA had and was starting to adapt in the premier league with. MP is in my opinion a good manager with a good philosophy on how to play the game. But we have few many left to secure our premiership status and I think that his appointment was a risk and that Nige would have kept us up. MP knows little about QPR or any Premiership team. NA knows much more.Take next weeks game against Norwich, NA has L1 and championship experience of them. I still believe we should have appointed MP at the end/start of the season. We will struggle right till the end. COYR.
Minsk Posted 3 March, 2013 Posted 3 March, 2013 We were dire yesterday. Our best player was one forced onto the pitch (JRod) because of an injury to Lallana. Have't seen anything to convince me Pochettino has what it takes to be a successful manager in the PL. (The win against Citeh was lucky, secured with a cracking OG from Barry.) Adkins had us going in the right direction; we are now going backwards. Under MP: P6 W1 D2 L3 - 5 points from a possible 18, or 0.83 ppg in the previous 6 matches under NA - W1 D4 L1 - 7 points from 18, or 1.16 ppg - better than under MP in the reverse fixtures - W2 D0 L4 - 6 points from 18, or 1.0 ppg - better than under MP (and with a lesser squad, still adapting to life in the PL).
ART Posted 3 March, 2013 Author Posted 3 March, 2013 No matter the results last week and yesterday, I would have posted the Ides of March post ass I've done since 2001. Each year, it has held a lot of relevance to some people linked to the club and they tend to fall foul to this time of the year. Pochettino's appointment was really bad timing and having given Nigel the benefit of the doubt (rather deceitfully) we should have stuck with him. Pochettino did well with Nigel's team but since he's had to change things he's come out of it dreadfully. He's incapable to date, apart the Man City half time changes to read the game and change things about. Nigel was finally overcoming this shortcoming. He had the time. Unfortunately, Pochettino doesn't have th luxuxy of the time to do so. Our Premier League status is at high risk of suffering from Cortesé's encounter with the Ides of March, pay back for his treatment of Adkins.
