Adkins takes legal action over sacking

Exactly. Atkins is a decent and honourable man. Cortese is a total ****. OK, he might be our total ****, but he is still a total ****.

What does Cortese get out of this sort of crap? Some sort of deviant sexual pleasure? Sort it effing out FFS! Saints used to be a model of a "decent family club", but we are looking more and more like a pack of greedy

exactly... I hope he takes us to the cleaners

The football world is full of managers who can't/won't take a new job until they've sorted out compensation on the previous one. Nige will probably agree a compromise - doubtless there has already been some exchange, but no agreement. I imagine, going on reputation, NC is playing hardball; he knows Leeds want Nige, so will sit and wait.

In the meantime, perlease don't ask me to feel sorry for some guy being paid several hundreds of thoudands of pounds per year to tend his garden.

If I remember correctly the actual term relieved of his position not sacked. So technically he is still an employee of the club, but in real terms he was obviously sacked, so the club should be honourable and pay his contract up.

I'm not sure of the legal position but as far as I can see he is stood down with no requirement to attend work. I wonder what the legal situation would be if he and his colleagues went and worked for free for another club and continued to draw their salaries. NC would then probably terminate their employment. Then it would be up to the tribunal to sort it out.

Isn't it a case that he technically hasn't been sacked, just replaced? The fact he still receives his monthly salary will mean if he wants to find other employment I am guessing the club will let him go but it also saves them paying him millions and then walking into another job.

Just a money saving exercise as I see it, regardless of the morality of it.

Having read this yesterday and seeing today's play by some players, especially the poor passing, I can believe that not everyone is behind Pochettino. Like myself and many others reading that Nigel hasn't received a settlement appalls me. I am sure some players will have been effected by this too. Nigel doesn't deserve this, he deserves the 100% decency that he himself put into the past 3 years. We haven't heard the end of this or the effect it will have on morale, players and supporters.

If you really believe this you are an idiot. The players ARE behind MP: "4 or 5 leagues above Adkins" said one of our defenders and was agreed with by one of the strikers. Stop being such a prom drama queen.

Players aren't always the best judge. I think art has a point and isn't an idiot on today's evidence.

So you too think that the players were affected and risked losing their Prem place just because of a dispute between the club and a former manager? I think they have a bit more about them than that. We had a **** day at the office, nothing more, nothing less. Some of our fans really are fairies, honestly they really are.

That's it keep calling everyone names and everyone will agree with you. We treated Adkins terribly whether we win every game I still believe this.

But you miss the point and why Art was so wrong. Adkins was treated badly and deserved better, but to say some of the players aren't behind MP and were poor today because they feel sorry or him is plain wrong. They have moved on, stuff like this happens in football - shame our fans can't move on too.

Last post of the day.

Not really some of them have a morale conscience and can't forget the great 2.5 years he gave us. More performances like today and more fans won't move on.
