The Club has a vision, and that's why I've signed." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: Mauricio Pochettino: "It's great news that Jason has agreed to sign a new contract with Southampton. He has been very impressive." #saintsfc
Window Cleaner Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 but did he get the new watch? that's the question.
RonManager Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Good lad, well done, hope he continues to improve.
Dig Dig Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Good news but this means that we probably won't be offering a new contract to Ryan Dickson. Shame really
Jimmy_D Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Great news! When was the last time we lost a player we wanted to keep hold of? Oxlade-Chamberlain?
niceandfriendly Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 @bobbydavro_official: great news about puncheons contract extension at St Mary's #relief #aboutbloodytime
Saint Garrett Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Only other one who is out of contract now is Boruc isn't it?!
Saint Charlie Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Good stuff - just Lambert to go. Puncheon has earned that.

Lighthouse Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Very good news. Puncheon can be inconsistent but when he's on his game he is unplayable. Well worth having in the squad. Wonder if it was printed on bog roll.
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Good stuff - just Lambert to go. Puncheon has earned that. When's Rickies contract up? Great news about punch.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Ok, that has surprised me! Me too. I have said many times on here I expecting him and the club to part ways in the summer due to what had happened previously. But fair play to the management and Punch for putting these things behind them, the guy has done his talking on the pitch this season, and certainly shut me up. He has earned this in my opinion.
Saint Charlie Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 When's Rickies contract up? Great news about punch. Not this summer but next - he deserves one more than anyone.
Colinjb Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 @bobbydavro_official: great news about puncheons contract extension at St Mary's #relief #aboutbloodytime Seriously? I mean, really?
Isla Wight Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Very pleased - has proved that he can perform at this level when his head is right.
doggface Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Another great signing from the club. Well done punch, fully deserved and a complete 360
sussexsaint Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Superb news and full credit to him for pulling himself back from the edge, took a lot of guts and I admire him for that.
Dellman Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Who would have thought this a year ago? Who would have wanted it a year ago? It's a triumph of management skills I never saw coming and fair play to Punch he's shown what he can do and that he really is on the bus (the bus stayed when Nigel went didn't it?)
doggface Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 But lots not forget cortese is a bit if a **** and can't mow the lawn.
pangy Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Just shows how much his attitude has changed,a lot of people still thought he was a big time charlie,if that was the case he would of walked at the end of the season hoping a bigger club would come in for him.pleased for him I cant think of a player that has ever shown a bigger U turn in their career ?
Saint Garrett Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 (edited) Great news! When was the last time we lost a player we wanted to keep hold of? Oxlade-Chamberlain? He's probably the only once since Cortese +Liebherr joined. Credit where it's due! Edited 1 March, 2013 by Saint Garrett
SaintBobby Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 He has been great this season, but I did wonder whether we might splash the cash on a top signing to replace him. Maybe the squad is now pretty "settled" and there won't be a lot of transfer activity in the summer.
Wes Tender Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Good news. Credit to him for getting his head down and gaining some maturity and stability into his life. I have a suspicion that initially Adkins might have had some influence over where his previous demeanour needed to be sorted.
SNSUN Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Realised you cannot beat the Don, apologised, and has played some of the best football of his career this season. Long may it continue.
trousers Posted 1 March, 2013 Author Posted 1 March, 2013 Ah I was wrong then. First time for everything dude
corsacar saint Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Well done Punch for a well deserved new contract.
Avenue Saint Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Excellent news. Great to see players stay or go on OUR terms now. The club is rising....
Asaint4ever Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Well happy with this! Jason has been superb this season for us! He suits the premiership.
Red Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Another great signing from the club. Well done punch, fully deserved and a complete 360 Maybe 180? 360 would put you back exactly where you started from :-) Sorry couldn't resist! Good move however, hope he keeps it up now that he is secure?
Saint-scooby Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Even though he has done very well this season, got a feeling he will start being a Donkey again.....
Tartarus112 Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Good to see one of our top performers this season commit, although a part of me is concerned we could see a return to the Puncheon of the past now his future is secure. Should help boost his transfer value in any case. Good signing even if he does fade from the great run of form he is on right now.
ericofarabia Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Good to see one of our top performers this season commit, although a part of me is concerned we could see a return to the Puncheon of the past now his future is secure. Should help boost his transfer value in any case. Good signing even if he does fade from the great run of form he is on right now. As with many posts expressing the concern that he was only playing for a contract ..... I'm tending towards disagreeing with this now. In the past I have been very disappointed in him, but credit due he has knuckled down and turned things around. He has always wanted to play Prem League and must now realise anything short of his best will see him dropped and I really don't think that's where he wants to be now. He is thriving on playing with good players against good opposition and sitting on the bench just won't satisfy him anymore in my mind. He loves being involved and hopefully he'll feel the need to justify the new contract and try even harder to keep his place.
Wiggles31 Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Brilliant one of the stand out players this season.
hasper57saint Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 And as an 'add-on' clause he will receive six rolls of three-ply soft every Saturday!
ART Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 Outstanding news. I have always believed in Jason and his ability. Unlike the majority I was able to understand what he was going thru and his struggle with his demons and necessity to achieve and prove his football talent. I can only rejoice and celebrate that he's gone out and proved his worst enemies wrong. He can only get better and better
ART Posted 1 March, 2013 Posted 1 March, 2013 And as an 'add-on' clause he will receive six rolls of three-ply soft every Saturday! Never realised till recently that many players wear diapers to deal with calls of nature. Guess he'll also have an "addon" clause to receve red and white striped diapers before each game,
