Lawro prediction

Not that "far fetched" after all then.

Your team has lost at home to the team bottom of the league yet the first thing that you decide to do, within seconds of the final whistle, is to make a point scoring remark on a "mong " board.

Why dont you get a life??

2nd goal off side from a foul given completely the wrong way, debatable penalty and a horrific accident for the 4th??

Yeah we've conceded two in quite a few games this year but QPR have only scored 2 goals in 4 games out of the 27 so far, no cause to suddenly start to think they will put two past us...

Absolutely no cause at all.

Apparently we should be looking to their result against Everton as an indication of their form rather than the loss to United yet the first paragraph of the match report linked to in his prediction states that was their first win in ten games.

Is losing away at Man United an indication of form then?

Southampton v Liverpool

Liverpool look really good at the moment, they are playing some really good football and everything about them looks good.

Tottenham looked a very good side for an hour or so at Anfield on Saturday, but a couple of moments of quality won it for Liverpool.

Good good.

Oh and he has Wigan to win, and villa and QPR to draw. Closing up at the bottom.

I think we will lose 1-3

Sunderland and Wigan winning would be very bad results for us, QPR drawing at Villa is about as good as we could hope for. I'd love us to scrape a win, Sunderland to lose Wigan to lose (Newcastle will be safe) and perhaps even QPR to beat Villa. It won't happen though. I can see us in the relegation zone in a few weeks, but with a slightly easier run in of fixtures than the other teams. It'll get hairier before it gets better IMO.

Liverpool were all over us at their place. We were lucky to only get beaten by the one goal, and that was before the influx of their new arrivals.

Tomorrow will be tough. Head tells me not to expect anything. Heart tells me that Liverpool don't like coming to Southampton :)

"but a couple of moments of quality won it for Liverpool."

what..?

a terrible backpass by Walker giving Downing a shot at goal with no keeper and then Defoe putting Suarez through for his dive for a pen?...

It wasn't a dive, it was a clear penalty.

The Sunderland vs Norwich match is an intriguing encounter as Sunderland need to get some points before three hard games in a row, but I can see Norwich sitting back and counter attacking so may get something out of the game... 1.1 draw.

Can't argue with a Liverpool win with their attacking threat, they must be favourites.

To be fair considering his massive Liverpool bias and his description, his 2-1 defeat prediction is fairly fair.

Liverpool didn't beat Spurs with "two moments of quality" they were gifted both goals through terrible errors and didn't look like scoring before that.

"I don't understand why they harangued the referee after Artur Boruc had made that great late penalty save from Grant Holt either"

Urm because it was a mad little ref decision from someone who wanted to be the centre of attention and could have cost us anything from a game we should have won... Strange pundit sometimes.

On another note, what sort of moron would allow this:-

To be used as a publicity shot?

Lawro is weird. Walks around Anfield like it's Moscow.

He has a real penchant for colourful Harry Hill-like shirts as well. The fashion police must be livid.

Stop fapping and remember Nigel. It doesn't matter what the opposition do..... it matters what we do. We go out, we beat liverpool... thats what we can effect... and imagine what they will do when they realise there is one less team to catch.

He may be gone, but he was the greatest manager we will have in my lifetime, I have no issues with MP, but he will never have NA's class, dignity or spirit.

Yep, I feel you're absolutely correct about that and think the same too. Still, I might be wrong and it is a bit too early to judge MP.

Still don't think he'll go onto achieve what NA will, though.

I think Sunderland will win this. It is also a game that brings back childhood memories as the first cup final (league cup) I can remember, 28 years ago this month. The first fa cup final I remember watching Man U v Everton, both 1985. First cup final I remember but not watching was Brighton v Man U 1983.

Umm, because what Lawrenson said happened didn't happen, we harangued him BEFORE the penalty for which we were reported, the manager came on the pitch afterwards, the players didn't bother after the penalty save.

So where was he on MoTD? I was expecting him and Hansen to come and face the music but oh no. What do we get? The stiffs and a right pair of duffers they are.

He has probably got the night off as so many of his predictions were wrong.

Don't worry. What is the betting that the next set of games sees him predicting us to lose and QPR to win.
