Papa Shango Posted 28 February, 2013 Share Posted 28 February, 2013 Have written a new piece about Redknapp's recent career. From his time with us to QPR, plus everything in between. Saint Garrett Posted 28 February, 2013 Share Posted 28 February, 2013 This love for Henri Camara is very odd. He score a few goals but he wasn't that good. Quite a few times he'd get the ball and try and put a cross in and it would be over hit. He was so erratic and although he offered a different option to what we had at the time it wasn't consistent performances and goals. The Brum goal on his debut was a cracker as was the Norwich home game, but apart from that I'm struggling. Either that or my memory is playing tricks on me. Charlie Wayman Posted 28 February, 2013 Share Posted 28 February, 2013 To be honest the 'Arry thing is well past it's sell-by date and not worth raising a huff about. He's just another oppo manager, we've seen them all, they come and go. Pathetic too how oppo PL fans still sing the "only one Harry Redknapp" to rile us when most here can hardly remember him or give a stuff. Time to move on everyone! I have a ST in the Itchen next to away fans and travel to 10-15 away games a season. I can honestly not remember a single time opposing fans have sung that at us. You've just invented it? Personally I think Redknapp is rent a quote moron that is liberal in the amount of tax he pays but greedy in the amount of praise he gives himself. He didn't care about us at all when here and only took the job to annoy Milan. I will give the **** both barrels as will 95% of other Saints fans I know, sorry if that doesn't fit in with your "live and let live" attitude but he is a fag paper below the City of Portsmouth and it's inhabitants in terms of where by hatred is pointed in life. ART Posted 28 February, 2013 Share Posted 28 February, 2013 Terrific read and finally someone has told Redknapp's involvement at Saints as it was. Too often after he left it was impossible to read anything that was tainted by hate, bias and inability to get over Redknapp eventually bailing out. Anyone in a similar situation of having Woodward appear on the scene and inferring in the way he did would have walked. For one, I have to agree about Camara and the excitement he was able to bring to games. What a forward line we had during the relegation and there is no doubt Olivier Barnard was the major cause of our failure to stay up. Has to be one of the worse signings during our days in top flight. Surprised Papa Shango that you never mentioned Fabio Fernandes and how he and Harry didn't see eye to eye. A really excellent article and historical record! Thank you so much for posting it for all to read.
saints-cris Posted 28 February, 2013 Share Posted 28 February, 2013 Good read, and quite an amusing trip down our memory lane. God I really disliked Olivier Bernard.. he really was emarrassingly awful for us. Just terrible!

ToreSF Posted 28 February, 2013 Share Posted 28 February, 2013 Brilliant, yet painful, read. After the first 45 minutes against Villa, I felt sure we would stay up. After the last 45, I felt equally sure we would go down.

warsash saint Posted 28 February, 2013 Share Posted 28 February, 2013 that Everton game was the most heart broken I have left a game of football. I put the blame on Bent's winner down to Davenport's pace (or lack of!) & not Bernard's positioning.

ART Posted 28 February, 2013 Share Posted 28 February, 2013 Even under Nigel and, Pochettino of late, we often looked like winning by taking early leads only to get thumped and lose. Were the results under Redknapp in the Premiership any different? Still today, certain elements in the fan base go on a witch hunt and look for scapegoats.who they single out and go on and on about them. Unlike under Redknapp after re;egation, Nigel and Pochettino haven't had to take daily humiliation in the likes of having Sir Clive Woodward and his cronies interfering and lurking in the background. Or maybe they do in the form of Mister Reid.

Plus we actually look quite good at the moment, and much more talented. We're also improving across the season, rather than getting worse, which we seemed to go in that season. Of course this is correct but we don't have our best players being sold off and replaced by lesser quality reserves and a suspected center half who may or may not have been throwing games for financial gain. Saint Garrett Posted 28 February, 2013 Share Posted 28 February, 2013 Lol! I don't agree with what Claus did, but there is absolutely no chance that he was throwing the games for financial gain !!

The tabloids are going to love Pochettino if he carries on like this. If we come unstuck tomorrow the media's darling is going to have them fawning all over him. Plucky ol' 'arry. I hope our lot don't blow themselves out over Saggychops, I can see it being all fiesty to start and then dropping off - need to look at it like a game against the skates ideally. We overdo it bit these days with the "Sha-la-la" but tomorrow is made for it, last 10 mins non-stop if we're ahead, all directed at Twitchy the birthday boy, hey, we could even go over and give him the bumps
