...we score inside the first 20 minutes, taking the lead 1-0. Six times it's happened this season, giving us the grand total of 2 points out of 18. Why is this? And do you think we'd be better off starting games slow and gradually building up as the first half wears on? Are we too quick off the blocks for our own good?

Discuss.

(City game excepted after remembering it)

City Fluke, I do believe you tongue is firmly in your cheek. A game like that was on the cards. Again I think we will thump someone soon. 4/5-0

Not sure, does that happen many away? Taking the lead away to a 'bigger' team happens to a lot of teams, but normally they come back!

Tongue was in cheek mate, but due to the recent upheaval on here because of folks taking things I say too literally I fixed it.

No - I think we have to start on the front foot, particularly this Saturday against QPR.

Their tactic over the past month or so is to keep it tight & frustrate the opposition (i.e to still be in the game), and then try to take advantage of the chances they create later in the game.

If it is 0-0 after an hour, then Harry will be more than happy and fancy their chances of taking the points in the last third of the game.

If they find themselves a goal down early, they will have to be a bit more open than they would like.

We never seem to win when Schneiderlin scores. Apart from Bristol Rovers away in league 1 and Nottingham Forest away last year.

The 6 games you refer to are the 2 against Man Utd, away @ Everton / Stoke / Nouveau Castile, and home against Fulham. Other than being under-par against Fulham how many points would you have expected to get ?

So you don't think those games would of panned out differently had we NOT taken an early lead and spent the rest of the game under pressure?

2 games vs Man Utd - were always likely to lose ( being realistic )

Everton away - odds on home win

Stoke we deserved a point, on another day their 3rd goes over the bar and we win

Fulham - we should have won

Newcastle - first half we played the ref as well; how the f*** did Tiotte avoid a booking, 2 goals conceded - 1 fluke 1 offside.

second half, dodgy penalty and another fluke due to confusion in the defence.

In all of these games I don't honestly think the time of our first goal affected the outcome.
