CWD Posted 24 February, 2013 Posted 24 February, 2013 This is starting to become a real issue now IMO. I hope we don't end up looking back over the season and thinking 'we'd have stayed up if only we'd held on there...'. Reminds me on 04/05. The main problem, which was particularly evident today, seems to me to be that we play really well, score a goal, and then don't kick on. Both goals today came after a few minutes a high intensity, high tempo football, but seconds after the goal we look to be on the back foot again. I've lost count of the amount of games I've watched this season and said "looks like us scoring has given the opposition a kick up the arse". FWIW I still firmly believe we'll stay up, but I think it needs addressing.
Deano6 Posted 24 February, 2013 Posted 24 February, 2013 We scored early against the run of play. It's a bit disingenuous to talk about 'holding on' when we scored after 2 mins!
doggface Posted 24 February, 2013 Posted 24 February, 2013 Was not against the run of play, we started vv well.
Thedelldays Posted 24 February, 2013 Posted 24 February, 2013 its when you gift goals that hurts swansea, norwich, fulham at home spring to mind away at stoke should have been a victory....away from home, 3-1 against 10 men..you HAVE to take them gifts
Deano6 Posted 24 February, 2013 Posted 24 February, 2013 Was not against the run of play, we started vv well. For 5 minutes. We got battered that first half. Goals were always coming.
Olallana Posted 24 February, 2013 Posted 24 February, 2013 we have won 27 points from draw positions.....
CWD Posted 24 February, 2013 Author Posted 24 February, 2013 For 5 minutes. We got battered that first half. Goals were always coming. Yeah but for the first few mins we were the better side, and then we scored. Bit harsh to say against the run of play. And I'm not being disingenuous, because clearly I'm talking about more games than just today.
supersonic Posted 24 February, 2013 Posted 24 February, 2013 Why has it taken this far to start worrying. All those points Adkins threw away will come back and haunt us
