Jimmy_D Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 Premier League @premierleague Howard Webb has been appointed referee for Southampton v QPR on 02/03/13. #SOUQPR Glad about that personally, normally calls our games right down the middle.
Wes Tender Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 Glad about that personally, normally calls our games right down the middle. Probably the best Premiership referee. We've seen some real shockers this season, some seemingly no better than their lower league counterparts.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 I think we should bring puncheon back for this one and leave davis out. he has done nothing wrong but I want to see Jrod stay in the team on the basis that we carry more of a goal threat with him in the side for some reason. i think lambert benefits from having another striker (albeit out wide) making runs which draws the defenders away. its funny because with 3 out and out creative players behind lambert we sometimes struggled to create clear cut chances. i just think Jrod gives us that extra body with an eye for goal in the box. boruc clyne fonte yoshida shaw cork morgan puncheon lallana Jrod lambert subs davis fox forren davis ramirez mayuka jwp
Mattio Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 Out of interest has anyone recieved their tickets in the post? I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago but still nothing? I normally collect now so not sure about turnaround times.
Patrick Bateman Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 Out of interest has anyone recieved their tickets in the post? I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago but still nothing? I normally collect now so not sure about turnaround times. Yep, weeks ago!
FloatingbridgeSaint Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 I cant see QPR having the spine for this sort of game. To me they already look like they are resigned to being relegated but couldn't care less as they will still get paid or negotiate moves elsewhere. I bet their agents are already lining up moves as a backup plan. That said, I actually thought after the Man City game we would take Newcastle apart but seems the 2 weeks break put us into lazy mode. All I want is for us not to be involved in a survival battle on the last day of the season!
Dr Who? Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 West ham are shocking! The one time I want spurs to win, they bloody well won't!
Katalinic Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 Yes! Bale He really is too good for Tottenham.
Lighthouse Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 Fantastic! West Ham are getting dragged into this kicking and screaming.
trousers Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 Excellent result...Gives us a chance to overtake West Ham on goal difference on Saturday...
ottery st mary Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 Can we demand Bale be returned to us...NOW.. What a player...
JackFrost Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 QPR and Norwich are our next two games. Absolutely massive

110_Persaint Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 QPR and Norwich are our next two games. Absolutely massive 6 points and we're all but safe. 2 or less and we're all but down.
trousers Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 QPR and Norwich are our next two games. Absolutely massive With Norwich being away to Man Utd this weekend with a win vs QPR we can overhaul Norwich when we play them. I'm counting chickens again...
110_Persaint Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 With Norwich being away to Man Utd this weekend with a win vs QPR we can overhaul Norwich when we play them. I'm counting chickens again... Carrow Road is a VERY tough place to go, I'd of taken a point there before the season started. Fully expecting a loss.
Dr Who? Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 6 points and we're all but safe. 2 or less and we're all but down. Stop it!
Dr Who? Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 Just looking at the fixtures. We could go above West Ham and Newcastle, and if this does happen this I think will mean the bottom 3 will all lose. On to Norwich and mid table safety is nearly ours.
Saint Garrett Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 So if we go above west ham, does this mean that we're as likely to go down as Man Utd!!?
CB Fry Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 So if we go above west ham, does this mean that we're as likely to go down as Man Utd!!? 30 points with ten games to go would make us pretty much nailed on safe, so yes, I'd say so.
Lighthouse Posted 25 February, 2013 Posted 25 February, 2013 30 points with ten games to go would make us pretty much nailed on safe, so yes, I'd say so. Saints win Wigan win Villa win Three points above the drop zone with 30 still to play for and we are definitely safe. Wow.
Charlie Wayman Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Too much at stake for both teams and never forget we are Southampton, Kings of the great let-down. 1-1 is my bet. We never win these 'easy' games, more often lose them
Dark Munster Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Have had a horrible feeling since Redknapp took over that they are going to come here and beat us :S Indeed, just like we did with him as manager when we went to Krap Nottarf. Oh...
CB Fry Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 (edited) Saints win Wigan win Villa win Three points above the drop zone with 30 still to play for and we are definitely safe. Wow. You do realise half this forum have been spunking on about how we're going to finish tenth/twelfth/etc, don't you? So there's plenty already convinced we're safe already. And Wow all you like. Hit thirty on Saturday, and we're on to two more wins from ten to seal it. I personally think we are capable of that. That okay with you? Edited 26 February, 2013 by CB Fry
Pamplemousse Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Carrow Road is a VERY tough place to go, I'd of taken a point there before the season started. Fully expecting a loss. Last time we played them in League 1, they hadn't lost at home since the opening day and we went there and won.
hutch Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Last time we played them in League 1, they hadn't lost at home since the opening day and we went there and won. ... after drawing at SMS earlier in the season IIRC
tajjuk Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Anyone else worried that we batter them for the 90 minutes and they nick a 1-0?
capitalsaint Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 I remember that foul up by Kelvin last time around and Dexter Blackstock nipped in to score. These two will not be playing so we shall be ok on Saturday. Bale controlled all of our attacks from left back that day, he seemed the only player who was composed on the ball. I also left very confused as to why the QPR fans chanted 'we've got John Gregory', didn't seem anything to brag about.
Tom28 Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 I think we should bring puncheon back for this one and leave davis out. he has done nothing wrong but I want to see Jrod stay in the team on the basis that we carry more of a goal threat with him in the side for some reason. i think lambert benefits from having another striker (albeit out wide) making runs which draws the defenders away. its funny because with 3 out and out creative players behind lambert we sometimes struggled to create clear cut chances. i just think Jrod gives us that extra body with an eye for goal in the box. boruc clyne fonte yoshida shaw cork morgan puncheon lallana Jrod lambert subs davis fox forren davis ramirez mayuka jwp This, except I would have Hooiveld on the bench rather than Fox. If Shaw gets injured, we have the option of Clyne at left back with Cork at right back, or Yoshida at full back. If Clyne gets injured, again you have the option of Cork/Yoshida at right back. Either scenario, you don't need (or want) Fox. It's not that I think Fox is a bad player, he's been generally quite good for us, but it's that when he is on the pitch, bad things happen.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Webb is a decent ref. We've had a few nobbers this season but he should be fair. Would love to drive another nail in Saggys coffin. Great chance to do so. If we're not up for this as much as QPR I will be asking questions of Pochettino.
Sour Mash Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Keep expecting QPR to click in attack - Tarabat, Hoilett, Granero, Remy - there is definitely some quality there.
Appy Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Keep expecting QPR to click in attack - Tarabat, Hoilett, Granero, Remy - there is definitely some quality there. No better than our front 4 for me.
Matthew Le God Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Keep expecting QPR to click in attack - Tarabat, Hoilett, Granero, Remy - there is definitely some quality there. No better than our front 4 for me. Saints have scored twice as many Premier League goals this season. QPR - 19 goals scored Saints - 38 goals scored
Appy Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Saints have scored twice as many Premier League goals this season. QPR - 19 goals scored Saints - 38 goals scored To be fair Remy has played a game and a half.
Sour Mash Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 No better than our front 4 for me. Not saying they are. Just expect a lot more from them then they've produced so far this season. More quality there than a fair few other sides in the Prem.
Saint Garrett Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Remy is quality and could cause us problems. Im expecting lots of balls over the top and lots of balls into the channels.
saints-cris Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 With our high line he could cause a few problems. Espescially with Taraabt's vision.
Appy Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 With our high line he could cause a few problems. Espescially with Taraabt's vision. Taarabt is a strange one for me. Loads of hype, but hardly ever does it.
Saint Garrett Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 If he's on it though, he's a matchwinner. Just need to frustrate him, I think Morgan and Cork can snuff him out and if we do that he'll just get annoyed with himself and have a shocker. Same as what happened at their place really.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Remy is quality and could cause us problems. Im expecting lots of balls over the top and lots of balls into the channels. This is what I am worried about. I expect Joe Jordan is working on this right now as saggy reads the racing post and does his dog's tax return.

Just need to frustrate him, I think Morgan and Cork can snuff him out and if we do that he'll just get annoyed with himself and have a shocker. Same as what happened at their place really. Frustrating Taarabt was a big part of us dominating the game at Loftus Rd. SuperMikey Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Exactly the starting 11 as at Loftus Road in November if I remember rightly, apart from Boruc in for the clown Gazzaniga. One of Cork's first games back after injury as well I think?
Maggie May Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Remy will score, Samba will do the dirty work all game, and Taarabt will take the p*ss. Can see it now...
110_Persaint Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 Exactly the starting 11 as at Loftus Road in November if I remember rightly, apart from Boruc in for the clown Gazzaniga. The fact that you refer to Gazza as a clown for a couple of sloppy errors shows your level of maturity. No doubt whatsoever in my mind he is our future number one.
Appy Posted 26 February, 2013 Posted 26 February, 2013 The fact that you refer to Gazza as a clown for a couple of sloppy errors shows your level of maturity. No doubt whatsoever in my mind he is our future number one. My level of maturity? Come on, you are trying a little bit hard at the whole troll thing fella. We would be touching mid table if we had Boruc in goal since he came in, rather than dropping him for making one little mistake in the heat of the moment. You're entitled to think that, there are a few will disagree though.
brett24 Posted 27 February, 2013 Posted 27 February, 2013 QPR are due a win and I am afraid it will be this weekend. Remy looks a good player and his pace will cause us problems. Think it will be 2-0 QPR.
