John Boy Saint Posted 23 February, 2013 Posted 23 February, 2013 Bet his Mum told him off for having his photo taken with muddy knees!! Good luck young Dan.
Give it to Ron Posted 23 February, 2013 Posted 23 February, 2013 I have seen this lad play and boy is he good - I left raving about him he is absolute quality.
Hatch Posted 23 February, 2013 Posted 23 February, 2013 He gets a day off a week from school to play football, That's disgusting. He is 12 ffs.
scotty Posted 23 February, 2013 Posted 23 February, 2013 He gets a day off a week from school to play football, That's disgusting. He is 12 ffs. Yes, he might end up as a premiership footballer on fifty grand a week, having trashed any hopes of his dream job in the boardroom of his local Primark. I feel devastated for him.
Dr Who? Posted 23 February, 2013 Posted 23 February, 2013 Yes, he might end up as a premiership footballer on fifty grand a week, having trashed any hopes of his dream job in the boardroom of his local Primark. I feel devastated for him. Chances are still pretty slim, and then he could end up at Burger King. Day release is not going to have any impact in schooling. Education still takes high priority at football clubs these days.
Wade Garrett Posted 23 February, 2013 Posted 23 February, 2013 He gets a day off a week from school to play football, That's disgusting. He is 12 ffs. What disgusts me is teachers having a day off every week.
trousers Posted 23 February, 2013 Posted 23 February, 2013 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/10247834.Saints_snap_up_12_year_old_star/ He even turned down the chance to play in front of the bestest fans in the land... The following season he joined Greenfields and his performances were brought to the attention of scouts from Saints, Chelsea, Portsmouth and Cherries. He trained for all the clubs before finally concentrating on Saints.

I feel devastated for him. Even if he becomes the gretest/richest footballer the world has ever seen (lets hope, eh?), it'd still be useful to have some of the life skills school can teach at that age. To skip 20% of your school life on the off chance (probably still less than 1% chance) that he'll become a pro footballer does seem like madness for a 12 year old.
JoeShmoe Posted 23 February, 2013 Posted 23 February, 2013 From experience the minute he finds girls, beer and puff life changes, these days that will be next week if he's twelve . It was at least 14 at Wildern in the 80's

I would wager he will be catching up on his school work in his spare time.
Hatch Posted 23 February, 2013 Posted 23 February, 2013 I would wager he will be catching up on his school work in his spare time. Why can't he catch up with his football in his spare time. He has loads of that.
Saint_clark Posted 23 February, 2013 Posted 23 February, 2013 Why can't he catch up with his football in his spare time. He has loads of that. Because the training sessions aren't set to suit him? His parents are clearly OK with it so I don't see why you should be getting so wound up.
