SaintsAhoy Posted 18 February, 2013 Share Posted 18 February, 2013 My balls tingle at the thought of a new and improved contract for Mr Puncheon and not in a good way. After the rather 'base' celebration after the goal against Man City, I'm not sure he is the best ambassador for Southampton Footyball Club
Bearsy Posted 18 February, 2013 Share Posted 18 February, 2013 (edited) yeah i just had another feel on my balls and they thought it was disgusting how punch wipes his arse with his bare hand. Evidences! Also did anyone see after the match punch shook cortese's hand and as he was walking off you could see cortese sniffing his fingers and looking v.unhappy. Kingsland Red Posted 18 February, 2013 Share Posted 18 February, 2013 Maybe a Saganowski scenario - brilliant when working towards a new contract ( Wolves away springs to mind) , hopeless once on board with a new contract.....

RobM Posted 18 February, 2013 Share Posted 18 February, 2013 That article contradicts itself. It says NC is waiting for us to secure our place in the Premiership before offering JP a contract, but also says we're simply dithering - both can't be true. Either way, I think we will offer JP a new contract, the problem will be the terms of that contract. It might be that we only offer another year as we have bigger and better things in mind, but know he is a solid performer and a good option to have around. I can't imagine us offering him a really long, lucrative deal to tie him down as being honest, he isn't quite good enough to demand that. If the NC dream comes true and we become a top-five club, JP doesn't really feature.

Saint Fan CaM Posted 19 February, 2013 Share Posted 19 February, 2013 Surely having him in the squad and bringing in ber is what we should be doing? Well yes exactly, but will he react well to not playing consistently? Fact is waiting until the summer is probably a good thing.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 19 February, 2013 Share Posted 19 February, 2013 He's playing the best football of his career and he's out of contract in the summer. His agent will be licking his lips at the prospect of a free transfer, and the money that'll bring in. Personally I'll be amazed if he's here next year, even if we stay up
SuperSAINT Posted 22 February, 2013 Share Posted 22 February, 2013 Alex Goring Crook @alex_crook Some interesting comments from Pochettino on Jason Puncheon's #saintsfc future. See @MYNewsAgency for more Alex Goring Crook @alex_crook MP basically said he has not held talks with JP over a new deal and that it would be 'up to the player' if #nufc come in 4 him #saintsfc
Saint-Armstrong Posted 22 February, 2013 Author Share Posted 22 February, 2013 Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino hopes a new contract can be agreed with winger Jason Puncheon over the coming weeks. Puncheon spent several loan spells away from the club after losing his place in the first team and little over a year ago took to Twitter to criticise Southampton executive chairman Nicola Cortese. The winger threatened to see out the rest of his contract training with the reserves and youth team, but the pair patched up their differences and Puncheon has now become an integral part of the team. "I myself haven't spoken anything about his contract," the Argentinian said, speaking through a translator. "Puncheon is a player I am counting on and he is a player that has certain qualities and skills that are good for the team so, yes, I'd like him to stay."
