dave watson Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 Anyone know why Forren is not getting a run out in these games. I think he has only had a half for the National team since the season finished in Norway.

itchen_dan Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 Only 4 subs? De Ridder would've been in there. Same with Lee so that's 2. Reeves as well. Don't forget Forte and Barnard may have also been involved depending on number of over 21s.
benjii Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 Is Calum Chambers being converted into a defender?
niceandfriendly Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 Seidi seems to have been with us a long time but as yet hasn't made the first team IIRC. has anyone seen him much in the flesh to know if he's good enough?
Lazlo78 Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 Wonder if their youth play long ball Very good
david in sweden Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 Seidi seems to have been with us a long time but as yet hasn't made the first team IIRC. has anyone seen him much in the flesh to know if he's good enough? NOT in the flesh,(so to speak) but I did watch a streamed U21 game v. Liverpool a while ago. We were unlucky to lose 0-1 through an unfortunate deflected own gaol (not nearly as good as Gareth Barry's) Seidi came on as a sub near the end. He is quite tall and put himself about a bit. He had the best shot of the game when he hit a shot from near the halfway line with such furosity ..it just went past the far post ...and their goalie wasn't anywhere near it. Now that we have less "dead wood " around, I guess, Seidi likely to get a bit more game time, but the U21 side has quite a regular line-up at present.
trousers Posted 15 February, 2013 Author Posted 15 February, 2013 Seidi seems to have been with us a long time but as yet hasn't made the first team IIRC. has anyone seen him much in the flesh to know if he's good enough? @SouthamptonFC: RT @MattYoungR: Great 1-0 win away to West Ham! Buzzing to get a good run out n all! @ronnyseidi with an absolute worldy! #buzzing
RobM Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 That starting lineup would have collected a few points in L1.
david in sweden Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 I'm surprised that more fans don't follow and comment on U21 games. After all we have been playing teenagers in our first team side for quite a few years back.....and sooner or later we'll be seeing more. I've been lucky enough to have watched several U21 games " streamed " this season and it 's good to be able to watch players who had only been a name on the team sheet. .....and by all reports there are some good prospects here ..and in Doddsy's U18 crew, too.

tajjuk Posted 19 February, 2013 Posted 19 February, 2013 Nice goal, looks like they are pressing high up as well.
rooney Posted 19 February, 2013 Posted 19 February, 2013 Interesting to learn that Jack Stephens has been made Captain and Saints are developing him in a CM role. from CB
Lazlo78 Posted 19 February, 2013 Posted 19 February, 2013 Important win if they want to progress from the elite group. Next up is WBA on Monday...
trousers Posted 2 May, 2013 Author Posted 2 May, 2013 Saints 5-2 up with 5 mins to play in today's reverse fixture at Staplewood
stevegrant Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 This win takes us into 3rd place but now relying on Liverpool losing their remaining two games (away against Arsenal and Man United) for us to qualify for the final stage. If we do qualify, we'll play Man United in the semi-final. Spurs, having won the elite group, get to play the winners of the playoff between the winners of the two other groups (Everton and almost certainly Newcastle) in the other semi-final.
paris Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 2 min FULL TIME: We are now guaranteed a fourth-placed finish in the #BU21PL Elite Group. If @LFC lose their last two, we make the play-offs.
BadgerBadger Posted 2 May, 2013 Posted 2 May, 2013 cracking goal! Loving the 'slamdunk' on their no 10 prior to the goal - good lad:lol:
