I watched the film 'All In The Game' again last night

I haven't seen it in years and my lad lent me a copy he had won in a game of Poker, (of all things to bloody win, he took 20 DVD's of a mate in lieu of 10 quid).

Anyway, interesting to watch again. It's all about a club, new to the Premiership, and the shananagans that go on.

A Manager, very old school, out to do the best for 'his club', based on spending a fortune on new players.

Lining his own nest whilst he was at it.

A chairman out of his depth wanting to succeed, new stadium, few new signings, wanting to bring champions league to his club.

Then recieving the hate of the fans as the manager and agents sell all the best players, and putting ticket prices up to pay for it all, (don't think it said anythign about car parking and charges though).

Young up and coming player, becoming the best in the team that he loves and grew up supporting, wanting more money, then leaving and signing for a bigger team, (or being forced to).

And Unscupelous agents manipulating players and signings.

All in the test of entertainment, of course.

But a lot of it rung true, especially the one liners, like 'No matter the cost, the fans are only happy when they are winning'. And how '..the manager F's Up, and the chairman takes the blame.'

Worth watching with an open mind, then looking at some of the clubs decisions of late and maybe try looking at the other side.

And Ray Winston, an actor who shouldn't cry, based his performance on someone, and I wonder who. Roy Marsden as the chairman, plays him well, Idris Alba as the director of football and Danny Dyer as the mnagers son, and a football agent.

I list the cast as there are a few on here that already know what it's all about without watching it, as they will have already made their minds up before the opening credits, based on the personailities involved.
